This item,works great, and is very inexpensive, easy to install and use.

I originally purchased because I wanted to "cut the cord" because Cable prices kept increasing. Unfortunately it doesn't allow you to receive your local channels and I needed to purchase an antenna to receive them. Which wasn't a big deal for me. I unfortunately had to return it though because it was too confusing for my 75 year old mother to comprehend. Looks like I'm stuck with cable.

Our Roku stick maintains an excellent internet connection and I really appreciate how well it works with our older televisions (adjusting volume and turning power on/off). It worked out so great for the family, that we purchased two of them for the TV's not connected to cable. We got each unit step up in a matter of minutes. Much easier to use then the Apple TV we have.

Streaming from services like Netflix, YouTube, and Amazon Video works flawlessly. The best feature by far is the voice search which gives you a list of which streaming services have the movie/TV show you're looking for AND at what price (also indicates when they're included for free with the service). That and the TV power/volume buttons on the remote are a massive upgrade to any TV.

Easy set up, small device for easy placement on tv unit.

I thought that I would try this out as I am considering getting one for a relative who will soon be off to a collegate career, but I cannot in good conscience give even a thought anymore. My main issues is that this particular model is apparently very sensitive to overheating and the basicly non-existent customer support team for this model just make it not worth the asking price. The only good thing I find about this unit is in it's portability, even though it still does need a high speed modem to connect to in order to operate it like every other streaming device available at this time, so I find the need for the Roku App to be just a rediculously stupid concept to be required for it's operation. The media apps, or channels as they are to be refered as, that are dedicated to this device brand just suck all the way around as far as I am concerned, especially when it comes to updating content of any relivence to your preferences which is always very frustrating and annoying.

This Roku Streaming Stick was originally bought for a larger living room television. Set-up was flawless, but the resolution was subpar...a Roku Streaming Stick Plus easily corrected that. The Streaming Stick was moved to a smaller bedroom television where it performs very well. Both units have the power button and volume controls that we prefer. We would recommend the Streaming Stick for basic use only, and would not hesitate to get the Streaming Stick Plus for all else. We got this item as an excellent Deal of the Day!

First let me premise my review by starting off by saying that this little stick is actually pretty decent. I’ve used ROKU on smart tv and have enjoyed the experience. This little stick is very capable and works good. My reason for knocking off a couple stars are 2 fold. First off I bought this primarily for use with my slingbox (not slingtv). I install the slingplayer app so I can connect to my slingbox and low and behold slingplayer from my phone doesn’t communicate with this roku. After some digging on the Internet I found out the latest OS update by Roku broke the casting feature. Mind you this isn’t readily available information on the internet so I had to do some digging around to find this out. After some back and forth with roku support they have basically said the issue is with sling and it’s out of their hands so I have to contact sling. I contact sling and their response was they were aware of the issue and said Roku needs to patch their OS. Bottom line is this - neither have words of optimism to offer. This thing as it sits now doesn’t work with slingplayer for slingbox so don’t buy this expecting to use it for this! I’m disappointed to say the least and irritated that both companies can only point fingers but offer nothing for a solution. The customer service was less than stellar too. Slow to respond and lacks any offer a solution. As I stated earlier this is a good device so if you’re not dealing with a slingbox then this will definitely make you happy. I’m not returning mine as I’ll make use of it in other ways, But I can’t give it the rating I think it deserves due to poor customer service and failure to produce working results for a product it claims to works support. I know it works with older products and did with this one as per testimonials on the internet. When a fix is coming is the big question!

Wonderful way to save tv bills. Easy to set up and use.

I have owned Roku since it first came out. I have given several away to family so they could enjoy this device. We have a 5 bedroom home and each one has a Roku, its better and cheaper than cable in them. Our family can't do without it, so many apps and channels in one device. Several of my friends now own Roku because of my recommendation as well. You can't go wrong with Roku.

This roku streaming stick works perfectly. We have no issues. Makes streaming hulu , netflix , prime video, etc easy and all from one remote control.

I do not have cable or Direct TV. I wanted to watch Netflix on my small TV in bedroom. I did not want to buy another TV. Roku allows me to watch Netflix & YouTube and other networks on my non-Smart TV in bedroom and guest room. I have also used with my Smart TV in living room to watch other networks, like CBS & NBC. CON- I cant turn off device. It is plugged in & on OR unplugged to be off. I attached to powerstrip so I can easily stop power/turn off without having to plug in/unplug to outlet. Good value so far. Easy set up. FYI- You need WiFi service in your home to use it.

After plugging the new Roku stick into the television, installation was completed in less than 15 minutes, and was simple. Now I can easily watch Netflix, Prime tv, or ESPN events that are not on the main ESPN channels. It was a nuisance to plug my computer into the tv previously. I also like that the newer Rokus have tv power control and volume control that my older Roku did not.

Easy to use. Works with any TV. I like the voice remote.

Great product for such a low price! Easy to use too!

I bought this model to stream channels to my Panasonic “not so smart” Viera TV. Installation was a breeze except the Roku remote would not sync with my TV. So now I have use two remotes. That’s the reason for not rating this five star. Roku should also supply a short HDMI extender cable like Amazon does with their Firestick. I had to buy an extender cable. In the end I opted to move my Roku to another TV and use a Firestick for my Panasonic. The Firestick remote synced with my Panasonic immediately. Nice job Amazon.

Handy, easy-to-use little Gadget, unlike my older Roku model this one is a stick which makes it easy to move from TV to TV and room to room. Can watch Netflix HBO many channels without a cable box, remote is simple and easy to use. Love this purchase

Good basic media streaming device. I purchased one of these for each of my parents as they wanted to start streaming Netflix and Amazon media. They are both Technologically challenged. I often feel like Sisyphus when I try to help them with technological issues, however this was very easy for them to use after I set it up and they are enjoying the many hours of happy streaming

Picked up a nice “dumb” tv from a friend, he recommended Roku. Now I get everything I want in my room at no extra cost.
