I purchased this to help get away from the expense of cable and sattelite. I am able to get everything I need including live channels using a combination of Philo and Hulu live for a little less than $60 per month plus internet. A huge savings over cable. Plus there is so much free content included in the Roku device itself to more that keep me and my family Occupied. Easy set up and even configures the remote to you TV for you. So good I went out and bought a second one for our other TV. Would definitely recommend.

Love my ROKU stick that helped me use an older TV after discontinuing cable box service. THERE IS AN EXTENDER PEICE you can order FREE through Roku that allows you to extend the plug out from the tv a few inches. I would highly recommend this because if you leave your Roku plugged in 24/7 and run it a lot, it can get quite hot and overheat. (There is a warning on the box for this too). Once I got the free extender in the mail, everything looks great and I feel more confident leaving it plugged in 24/7.

We needed something to access Disney+. My older TV and BluRay player didn't have the app, so after much review I settled on this. Works great. You can download the Roku app on your phone and use it as a remote control AND a remote listening device. I can watch shows while listening on my earbuds via my phone. I occasionally fight wifi issues because the TV with Roku is the farthest from my wifi router, and down a floor, but that isn't Roku's fault.

The cost of the Roku streaming stick Makes it almost a no brainer to consider, and the remote can power your TV on/off easily and control the volume - something that remotes on video game consoles or some streaming players can’t do. If you’re hoping to cut the cord, there are several great options, such as YouTube TV, PlayStation Vue, DirecTV Now, Hulu, or many other options and they’re all supported by Roku. The only thing that annoys me is trying to find channels through the UI of the services I’ve tried (Hulu and PS Vue) - there’s no ability to just enter a channel on the remote and channels are not assigned a number like cable/sat service. If voice recognition worked to choose channels I probably wouldn’t mind; but, voice recognition varies in different apps. Movie services, like Netflix and Amazon Prime, all work really well; there’s no lag when starting to play a movie, or when trying to close a movie or scroll through the menu. If choosing channels were possible by inputting numbers, and if the power button actually powered the Roku stick itself on//off I’d give it five stars. The fact that the Roku stick remains on can be a problem for those of you that have ever Internet providers that place caps on usage since streaming continues for 2 hours (or whatever amount of time you programmead the Roku to timeout in).

I've had an older Roku, but needed to add one for a new projector in the basement. The set up was incredibly easy. I was a little worried about the projector instead of a traditional TV, but this connected right away, knew the projector brand/model and allows me to control the sound from the Roku remote. I love Roku because it has the Spectrum app and Netflix. No need to run wire or pay for a cable box! As long as you have a good wifi signal you're good to go.

Cut the cord years ago and have since gotten my extended family to follow. Have an earlier generation Apple TV and a firestick, but nothing compares to the ease, selection, performance, and value of working with a Roku. We have sticks on secondary locations and 3s and an Ultra on primary TVs as the USB port allows for stored movies and home videos as well as photos and music.

    Third Roku in the house

As stated in the title, this is now my third Roku I have bought for my house. I recently bought two Roku TVs for my guest bed and for my garage. Already had a TV for my basement/man cave, so I decided to just buy a stick this time. I am an employee for a cable company out here and the best app on Roku's are the cable company's full sourced applications. A lot of people still don't know this but if you don't want to spend $10/month on a cable box, you can buy one of these and be able to stream live tv, on demand, DVR, etc.. all for free. It's fantastic! You can also download a bunch of other channels and as long as you have them with your current cable provider, you can sync your account with those channels and watch for free too. Overall, it's a great investment for TVs you may not use all the time or for guests and don't want to spend more money.

I got this as a gift for my dad. He already has one that he likes so I know it is a great product. He needs another one so he can stream his TV provider's app on another TV in the house without having to pay to rent another box.

We were looking for a way for parents to get TV without the hassle of an antennae or costly cable or satellite bills. They live in Florida and us in Maryland. We sent it directly to them and we setup an account online for them and managed all of their apps so all they had to do was put in a password and watch what they wanted with the apps we gave them access to. No monthly fees unless you subscribe to an app that asks for one. We were already using Netflix and CBS All Access (now Paramount+), and Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+, so they just log into our accounts and watch what they want. It is so easy to use for them and they are loving it. We highly recommend this item, but beware if you are looking to screenshare or mirror you tablet or phone on it, some do not allow it on this device. Check the Roku website for the model # and make sure it is compatible with this. Other than that, it is perfect for them.

I have had a non-Smart TV for years, and tried some other devices like the Chromecast to let me use the Internet streaming apps from my cellular on my TV. I was unsatisfied with the other devices, until I bought the ROKU Streaming Stick. It works awesome, like it were part of the TV. Also, the remote can control the basic commands of my TV set, like volume, on/off, and the remote can manage voice commands to search Apps or programs to look inside the Apps. Is a great addition to any Non-Smart TV!

There were several Roku versions to choose from depending on your needs. The basic stick probably won't have something you need and the most expensive latest stick would be great for a smart tv by offering more options. So, I chose the Roku stick in the middle. I only have an HD tv, so extra options are not needed. I also needed to access my Netflix account, which is the main reason I bought it. It was super easy to setup and use. Haven't had any issues so far. I made a good choice.

We purchased this item because we canceled our cable subscription, and one of our TV's was not a Smart TV. It was a toss-up between the Roku stick and the Amazon Fire Stick, and we chose this one, and it was the right choice. Setup was quick and easy, and logging into our Hulu and Netflix accounts had zero complications. We also really like the fact that the remote pairs to the TV, so it's able to control volume and power without the need for a second remote always having to be nearby.

The Roku was purchased to replace a FireStick that had become sluggish and dropping connections. Installation of the Roku Streaming Stick was very easy. The remote powers off the TV which is very convenient, allowing one less remote on the couch. The Roku allowed the loading of all the same streaming services as with the Firestick, but without the advertisements from Amazon. Overall, a much better solution than the Firestick.

Roku is a great alternative to cable co. monthly charges . We have a lake house and only use it for limited times and also use it a rental property in the summer months, which makes this a perfect option for us and our renters to save on monthly cable cost and take advantage of all the features of the Roku device !!

Easy to set up. Easy to use. Setting up the remote power and volume buttons with your tv is nearly automatic. Interface simple to navigate and customize with you channel preferences. Improved WiFi capabilities has eliminated buffering experienced on older Roku devices. Only issue is device periodically experienced overheating if used for extended periods, but was fixed after installing HDMI extender provided free to users through Roku website.

Price is right. Set-up is simple. Channel selection is good. There are a couple of channels I wish were available without a paid tv provider subscription, but oh well. The price is great.....$50 bucks for the Roku unit. Three levels of units are available. GET THE MIDDLE ONE. I'm saving $100 a month over cable....cha-ching! Because I have Roku, I now have Sling TV on all three of my home TV's, my Ipad, and my iPhone. Same subscription...no extra fees. Again.....cha-ching!
