HDCP errors
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the Roku for the most part. I had a roku 3 for almost 3 yrs. without any issues at all. They are very fast, never freeze, and are quite reliable usually. I purchased a roku ultra though, and there is where my problems began. When I hooked it up to my new 4k hdr set, through my new 4k hdr receiver, I thought wow, this will be great. However, not soon after starting to use the roku ultra, I started to get these error screens saying that I am not HDCP compliant. I have high speed 18 gb, hdmi cables, A brand new 4k hdr set, a brand new 4k hdr receiver, all of which are HDCP 2.2 compliant. I started researching the issue, and apparently this problem is causing all kinds of havoc with roku ultra owners. Roku for it's part doesn't seem to be offering any solutions other than unplugging your hdmi cables, and then unplugging the power, and the attaching everything again. Needless to say, this does not work. What I finally did was un-hook the roku, and hook the receiver directly to the tv, and use the native smart apps on the tv. Now I have no problems at all. This is not my first choice, because I like all of the apps available in the roku store. The tv's don't have as many apps available. The roku has a faster processing chip as well. So to summarize, the problem is obviously with the roku. I will not use the roku again until when and if they ever get this sorted out.

Great purchase

Not worth the money...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this unit to give me quality and ability to stream many LiveTV providers and have to say if you subscribe to HuluTV DO NOT BUY THIS DEVICE...it reboots constantly and CANNOT (did I say cannot) handle LiveTV streaming...movies/shows it’s very good but it stinks for LiveTV Streaming...Chromecast and XBox do a great job handling the data demand for LiveTV...Roku you have to fix your problems as well as get your channel providers to fix their problems because it will impact your business too!...I’ll be returning my Ultra in the new year for something else...too bad as I really wanted a Roku unit :((
