Bought for my wife to watch her religious programming for free. Had gotten a GloryStar HDVR3500 for her but it went South on me after two years of usage. I said screw this and bought the best ROKU I could get for her. So, far have not had any issues that previous reviwers have had with this unit.

I went with this version of the Roku for my main TV viewing because it also had an Ethernet connection so hopefully my internet connection to the device would be more reliable than WiFi. So far it has worked great for the purpose of streaming YouTubeTV and some of the other apps available on the Roku.

old roku 3 was at the end of its life so I upgraded when I got a new 4k TV. its basically the same from software standpoint which is very good and so easy my 5 year old can work it with no issues. the problem is I get a lot of lock ups. some you just have to wait a minute for it to start working again but others have to do a full reset. has alot more lockups then the old 3 did

I got this when I still had cable also so I could see what is was like and I was impressed that I'm not missing anything at all. So I took my cable box in and I'm saving $100.00 a mth. We got 2 free weeks of sling from Best Buy and tried it. We love it! We feel from the cable company. Go for it !

I have a Roku device for all of my tvs I bought this for my 4k tv. It is awesome. Easy to setup and use

This Roku - Ultra Streaming Media Black Player is really nice since I don't have to pay a Monthly Rental Fee to use it like Spectrum wanted to charge me $7.00 Monthly! You Figure it cost me less to buy this Roku Ultra Streaming Media Player than a year of rental fees from Spectrum!

I’m super impressed with the Roku Ultra. Beats all of the Amazon Fire Stick, Apple TV, and Google’streaming devices. The AI interface is fast and works every time. With the thousands of channels available, you will never want for entertainment. If you want to cut the cable, this is the one to buy!

I purchased a new tv and didn’t like it’s streaming menus . I think Roku menus are a lot easier to use .

I get occasional pauses while streaming shows, but they are usually very short term. It takes a little longer to go to a channel, you can't just hit "info" to get a rating or review of movies. It also doesn't tell you why a movie is rated (violence, nudity, adult content, etc.) so you have to decide without that info what you want your kids to watch. It is much cheaper than other forms of satellite, cable, etc., with most of the same programming

We got this to replace the computer we were using hooked up to our TV to watch content. Love that it has all the streaming service plus some free stuff on the Roku channel and can also rent titles directly for pretty reasonably. Great buy! We are looking into a roku tv for a second TV.

I was worried about "cutting the cord", not because I watch that much television, but because I was afraid of what I would miss without cable. However, I took the plunge with this Roku device and couldn't be happier. The device works exactly as advertised, and I now have more control over what I watch and when. I only wish there was a way to power off the Roku when not in use, but there is a screensaver for when the kids fall asleep and leave the TV on.

Got rid of DirecTV and don't miss it one bit! With Roku and a cheap ota antenna, I have all I need. Sling for HGTV/Bravo, Netflix, Hulu, Vudu, Newsie, etc. I'm good to go. I have several Roku models, but this is a favorite....volume control is a necessary feature. I haven't used ear buds yet. The only problem with this model is that it seems to use more bandwidth than some of the other models. I think this is far superior to google chromecast.

I bought this to improve internet connection over an old roku express in our basement and wow did it ever! Al the speed tests I run are off the charts, not only over the old roku but over our smart tv and another roku express in areas of the house I consider to have strong connections.

Returning this unit and going back to model 4640. The remote tv on and off works but will not control volume if Roku is plugged into an AV receiver.

Wanted to upgrade from the basic stick and this certainly fit the bill. Not ready for the 4K version yet.

Very simple and very easy. Only thing I don’t like is that it doesn’t turn off..but it’s not a big deal.

It's a Roku and it does what it's supposed to. Had it orginally connected to a Samsung 46" hdtv from around 2011/2012. When connected to that TV, I had to reboot it at least once a day. Had a family member using my device on their Samsung tv from 2016 and there have been no issues requiring reboot or random hd errors or authentication issues coming up. Get a cheap Roku for an older TV and you'll be fine.

This is a nice device that is better than 2 failed Amazon Fire HD 4K units I had previously.

I recently cut my cable cord and decided to go dedicated streaming via Roku. I will say the Ultra Streaming media player is the way to go plugging directly into my router you will get the best quality video rather than wifi. Must have for your living room or family room.
