Customers are saying

Customers have good things to say about the RR1800 Controller's ease of use and functionality. Many appreciate its intuitive design and effective control. However, some users express concern regarding battery consumption, noting that it drains the phone's battery and prevents simultaneous charging and gameplay. The controller's wired nature is cited as a contributing factor to this issue.

    Good choice for wired gameplay.

The build quality feels pretty solid. The phone holder holds the phone well. My iPhone Xs Max fits fine. The cord on the controller is about 2 ft long and it has nice cable management on the back of the phone holder to wrap up the slack. The cable also has a velcro tie to keep it wrapped up nicely while traveling. It works well as an MFi controller, the buttons are very responsive, but I wish the d-pad wasn't round. I wasn't really able to try the L3 & R3 buttons as software needs to be updated to support it, but the clicking mechanism feels like you would expect. Removing and re-attaching the phone holder is a little cumbersome but it is very secure and I don't worry about it falling off. It would have been nice if it had a lightning input for passthrough charging of the phone for long gaming sessions.

I mainly purchased this item to use with the PS4 remote play app for when I’m traveling light and don’t want to bring my laptop. Things like the DS4 touchpad and the Share button remain on screen, but all others are supported by the controller. Note: The Ludu Mapp companion app is a must for this controller to work properly. The Good: 1.) Being a wired controller, there is little-to-no latency. 2.) After reading many reviews about the battery life of their phone while using this controller, I was nervous about the purchase. Playing games on my phone drains the battery pretty fast, but I don’t see much of a difference in the amount of time with or without the controller. Sure it’s going to affect battery, it is drawing some power through the port; however, it’s nowhere near what people had me fearing before I was able to test it. 3.) L3 & R3 Support! 4.) Works great with PS4 remote play and a few games I’ve picked up from perusing their support list in app. The Bad: 1.) The cable is pretty thin and runs the risk of creating an open (e.g. breaking) with moderate to heavy use. 2.) There is no charging passthrough option. Tilt the controller down while holding it and look between your hands. You see a port cover there that looks suspiciously like they had an idea to put one there, but alas they did not. 3.) The controller does feel like a cheap Xbox knockoff. The sticks have way too much travel and button response is stiff. I haven’t had any issues with buttons not responding (as some reviewers), but the tactile feel leaves a bit to be desired. 4.) This item is overpriced from the manufacture for what it is. I can only guess they are covering the cost of the free companion app with a higher hardware purchase price. Given it’s pretty much the only controller supporting L3/R3 on iOS right now probably also leads to the pricing. So if you’re really in need of a L3/R3 controller for your phone, this isn’t a bad choice. Save a Best Buy coupon and pick it up < $50. This is the best place to buy it IMO. If you can wait for the competition to catch up though, I would suggest it. Either there will be a better made option, or it will drop the price of this device to make it more palatable.

I use this control to play Fornite on my Iphone. The only thing that I don’t like is that it’s not wireless so it consumes battery and you can’t play and charge it at the same time. Great control

This controller works with my iPhone X and Fortnite. The controller feels cheap for its price and while playing I noticed I had to push the buttons really hard in order for them to function. Could be my controller? I don't know. The Cell phone holder is tight and don't have to worry about your phone falling. Easy Install and play. This is my first control for a mobile game and maybe I just need to get use to it.

This works well the only issue is that it's not wireless. I didn't realize this until opening it. It also supports L3 and R3 functionality.

Almost perfect for Fornite!! Hopefully with updates it can be even better. It is an audio jack and lightning port splitter (for charging phone while playing) from being perfect!!

I wasn’t sure when I first read about this controller but all of the reviews seemed solid. They were right! I was amazed at how easy this controller was to set up and start playing. Rotor Riot also has a useful app that shows you all the games you can play and gives you tips as well.

I use it for R-Play and PS4 remote play. To start be sure to open the LUDU App, go to settings and immediately update the firmware. This update is what enables the L3 and R3 to work. So far the controller works great. At first I was hesitant about having to plug it in, but I actually think it’s better than using Bluetooth, because it truly eliminates lag. I mostly use the Rotor Riot controller to play The Division 2 on my iPhone X and it works fantastic.

It’s nice to push buttons on controller than trying to touch buttons on the screen. You get ability to view gameplay just like on console. Highly recommend.
