I purchased this game on a whim and I must say, it is a blast! Reminds me of a side-scrolling platformer Dark Souls.

Difficult to master, but a blast to play. Like a side scrolling Dark Souls and a great title for the Switch.

This game is hard. If you are a fan of Darksouls you will love this. The art style is fantastic and the environment is very dark and gloomy (just like the DS games). But there is a story here! A glimmer of hope as you figure out how the heck to get out and become more powerful. Monsters are pretty creative and every boss I fight looks unique and awesome. Can recommend if you like hard games, taking your time and "soaking" things in.

This game really has a great dark atmosphere and and challenging difficulty. The two go well together and it really makes the game feel more dangerous.

This is the Drowned Tome edition so it comes with a few extras inside the case. You get a small map and a code to download the soundtrack, as well as a two sided poster and a manual. The game plays like a metroidvania. A side scroller where you make your way through the stage killing all the enemies and finding and using numerous weapons. the game is kind of dark, as in most everything is colored black and difficult to make out if you're playing in handheld mode. But this is a great, well reviewed game. A must play!

Salt and the Sanctuary is a 2D plat-former, heavily inspired by the Dark Souls games. There have been many titles very similar to the Souls games created, and Salt and the Sanctuary was one of the first to do so. If you're a fan of the Souls games, or are looking for a challenging 2D title, give Salt and Sanctuary a spin.

the skill tree aspect of the game means you have lots of replay value here. Its a 2d game with a dark souls gameplay loop inspiration. Has a decent story, and a lot of story is told through the world you are in rather then exposition dumps. This is a hidden gem people should check out.

This game's developers ( a husband and wife team ) basically made a 2D version of Dark Souls and it is awesome. I own this on the Switch, PS Vita and PS4 and love it on all three. ( Basically did it to support them so they would make more games) If you are a Souls fan you need to get this game.

Probably one of the best Metroidvanias I've played in recent years. The Souls inspiration is all over, but it's best enjoyed as a grim, eerie, and fun Metroidvania indie title. Tons of fun and content, and the physical version has enough extra goodies for the price. Recommended easily.

This was my first platinum on the playstation so when I saw a physical switch version I had to get it to support the development team. They did a great job recreating a soulsborne game in the 2d space. I hope a sequel comes out.

Everything is being compared to Dark Souls these days, but this is truly a 2D Dark Souls. It takes the spirit of challenge and dread from that game and reignites it with an indie spirit of creativity. Very hard game, but good one nonetheless.

Great game. I was excited when I heard the switch version would be a physical release. It’s very difficult, but rewarding. It reminds me of the souls games a bit. I haven’t beaten it yet, but I’ve sunk about 20 hours in and am still enjoying it.

If you are a fan of Dark Souls style combat or 2D metroidvanias then you need to check this out. Difficult boss battles, multiple weapons and upgrades, and a labyrinthine world come together in a game that really shines on the Switch. Buy it!

Challenge? Check! Upgrades? Check! Side scrolling acton? Check! This is a great RPG/Platformer on the go. And I think better than the Switch version of Dark Souls. As it requires less processing power on the Switch.
