      Thank you for sharing your feedback on the HW-R550 subwoofer. I am sorry the audio performance did not live up to your expectations.

      To improve your experience, press the SOUND MODE button on your soundbar remote, and then selecting a sound effect that best optimizes your content. Choose STANDARD, SURROUND SOUND, GAME, or SMART.

      Standard: Outputs the original sound
      Surround Sound: Provides a wider sound field than standard
      Game: Provides stereoscopic sound to immerse you in the action while gaming
      Smart: Automatically analyze your content and optimize sound settings for the best audio delivery

      You can also press the Sound Control button on the remote (looks like a gear) to adjust TREBLE and BASS.

      Press and hold the Sound Control button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each of seven frequency bands.

      Using the WOOFER button on the remote, you can adjust the volume of the subwoofer between -6 to +6 by toggling the button up or down. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button down.

      Also, please check that the soundbar is correctly positioned with the SAMSUNG logo facing up towards the ceiling. We have found that many customers are misplacing the soundbar with the SAMSUNG logo perpendicular to the floor (facing you when seated), with the unit resting on the speakers, resulting in muffled sound.

    Could not get it to work with my TV

    I usually have good luck with samsung products, but I bought this to connect to my new large screen TV and had problems connecting it to work properly. Ended up returning it for the Sonos system.

    Purchased this on the recommendation from the geek squad guy who came to check out why I couldn't hear my new tv. Sorry to say this is no better than the tv speakers,which are bad!!??

    Not good for big rooms

    Disappointed with this product. I had one Samsung sound bar in my old house, moved to big house and upgraded to this but not enough sound, This one is not suitable for big rooms

    I understand the items I purchased was open box and I went in after the return policy. one item I no use because I can't locate the remote or plugs for the sound bar. But the young that waited on me yesterday was not wheeling to offer any help. So after this experience I will not be doing anymore business with bestbuy. I have purchased computers appliances video games and etc from you all. I know and the the policy but the treatment I got yesterday I'm will not return

    When I purchased the 50 inch ROKU Sharp 50 4K TV I was told a sound bar was a must so I purchased one. The Samsung HW-R550 had it connected by The Geek Squad it sounded OK but I was expecting it to sound much better after 5 month it started breaking down the power light starting blinking and the LED went off itn was plugged in but it showed no power I disconnected it and switched to the TV Speakers they sounded much better than the Sound Bar it was a waste of money

      There are two adjustments that can be made to maximize the potential of the included wireless subwoofer. First, is to increase the WOOFER level from the included remote control. Second is to adjust the bass control: Press the Sound Control button (gear icon) on the remote control, then select BASS to increase the level.

      Finally, for precise audio adjustments, you can use the 7-band frequency equalizer to optimize for your room acoustics.

    Worst sound bar I have ever heard. Sounds nothing like in store. Had a sound person hook up after I did because I thought I was wrong. Tried it through optical cable, hdmi/arc, and I had the bass all the way up. Our old LG sounds a lot better returning today

      I am very sorry to see that you are not happy with the in-home performance of this soundbar as compared to what you experienced in the store. If set up correctly, this should not be the case.

      Please check that you have positioned the soundbar correctly. It has come to our attention that customers may be positioning the soundbar incorrectly, resulting in poor sound quality. The soundbar should be placed with the SAMSUNG logo facing up towards the ceiling. If you position the soundbar with the logo facing up, you will see the display/status panel and the speakers will be facing outward. (Refer to product photos on Samsung.com and zoom in on the photos) If you have incorrectly placed the soundbar with the SAMSUNG logo perpendicular to the floor (facing you when you sit), you will experience muffled or low quality sound because the unit will be resting on the speakers.

      There are two adjustments that can be made to maximize bass from soundbar and subwoofer:
      1) Using the WOOFER button on the remote, you can adjust the volume of the subwoofer between -6 to +6 by toggling the button up or down. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button down.

      2) Adjust the bass control by pressing the SOUND CONTROL button (gear icon) on the remote control, then select BASS to increase the level. You can adjust the volume between -6 to +6 by using the Up/Down buttons.

      For precise audio adjustments, you can use the 7-band frequency equalizer to optimize the sound for your room acoustics.

    I received this in the mail, out of the box the sub woofer sounded like there was something broke inside upon setup and first use. Everti.e something with some bass hit it rattled but if you shook it, it was silent. Tried to use just the sound bar and after a few days at a moderate volume of 20ish, it began to sound scratchy. In less than a week it was useless and returned.

    Unfortunately return time is ended. Disconnects from samsung smart tv ewry few minutes witch is annoying. I thought it's only because Netflix but after taking prime and hulu I get the same disconnects on ewry few minutes. It looses connection with tv on 2-3 seconds even connected with optical cable
