Great Soundbar for the bedroom!
||Posted .I picked up this unit during the Memorial Day sale for under $200, and at that price, I couldn't be happier! I've had my eye on this soundbar for a minute, so once it went on sale, I rushed to scoop it up! This an awesome little setup, perfect for a bedroom. I connected this to my Samsung 55" QLED television, with the subwoofer against the wall next to my bed. The soundbar is a great improvement over the television's built-in speakers, even though those speakers are still pretty good for a flatscreen television. The sub, even at default settings, has a deep rumble that I really enjoy. I can actually feel the vibrations when I'm watching something with plenty of bass! I particularly love the streaming option via Bluetooth; as I'm writing this review, I'm streaming iHeart Radio from my phone to the soundbar, and it sounds AWESOME! I also love the fact that I can stream to the soundbar without needing to turn on the TV. Once a mobile device has been paired, the soundbar will automatically switch to Bluetooth output when it receives a connection request. Setup was a breeze, especially since I own a Samsung TV, so everything was automatically recognized. I plugged everything in and once I connected the soundbar to the TV (I used HDMI ARC), the TV did the rest. Sound output was automatically switched to the soundbar and immediately began to play. Couldn't have been easier! I am definitely pleased with this purchase!

Great sound for a good price - very happy!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. We were in the market for a better sound experience for our TV. Our previous sound system with blue ray was old and clunky so we never used it. While at best buy, I got a chance to demo a couple of options and I was impressed. We didn't want an entry level sound bar; we wanted something we would be happy with for years. Yet we did didn't want to spend too much because we are not audiophiles and I am not sure we would be able to appreciate the extra $100 or $200 for the high end sound bars. This product seemed like a good middle ground, and we wanted a Samsung sound bar to maximize compatibility with the TV. It turns out... it's fantastic! We have the soundbar connected through optical cable so I can speak to the Bluetooth functionality. What I love: - It's sleek and looks great with our TV - It works VERY well with our Samsung TV (as it should) - Love the LED that lets you know if volume is going up or down, and input, then disappears when not in use - It's a significant improvement from our TV sound and way loud enough - The soundbar turns on automatically when I turn on the TV - I can use the TV remote to control the soundbar - The sub-woofer connects wirelessly!! What I don't like: - The remote looks almost identical to the Samsung TV remote, so I've had to hide it because the wife and kids were trying to use it to change channels or go to Netflix, and getting frustrated that it wasn't working. Not a big deal We are very happy with this purchase

Wonderful...easy set up followed by above average
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed.Brought it just to have a living room sound bar and received so much more than expected Samsung's connectivity made it to connect, still not expecting much and when it started playing I was amazed with the sound quality...superb. Excellent product.

Someone say surround sound??
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. Not sure why I’ve read the subwoofer isn’t suffice, but mine booms! Maybe other users don’t have it set on surround sound and maybe vocal but trust me, this sound bar sounds great! I think the volume goes up to 90 and I’ve only went up to about 35! I will say this when I used by iPhone with Bluetooth you would’ve thought I had a club downstairs. Seriously! My wife was like WTH is going on down here!!? This sound bar is used with an LG 60” tv.

Great everyday soundbar!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.I have not quite owned this soundbar for a week as of yet, but I am completely impressed. I purchased this to match up with a new Samsung Q60r 55" tv. I have owned a Sony 300w soundbar for 6 years and it was having a few small issues playing nicely with the new Q60r. It sounded fine, but would not allow all features of the sound settings from the tv to be utilized. The Sony is very bass heavy. The reviews of the Samsung soundbar point out that it is not as punchy in the bass and has a smaller sub than my Sony. All of this is true, but it is enough! The sound is very pleasing to me. I turned the subwoofer up to 5 (6 is max), and it fills the room. The overall sound is more crisp and clear than the Sony, and the voices are clearer at lower volume which is great for when the kids are in bed. Best of all, it pairs perfectly with the Q60r and I can take advantage of the various sound settings and nuances built into the tv. It was a great choice. Sure, there is no Dolby Atmos capability, but if I wanted to spend $600 on a sounbar, I would have.

Wonderful sound for the price
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This is being used in a kitchen so I did not want to spend too much money. I replaced a 36" Vizio 2.1 w/ a subwoofer. I liked the Vizio sound. The problem with the Vizio was finding a volume sweet spot. The volume adjustment was limited. The Samsung volume runs from 0 to 100 and for TV it is typically kept around 15. I am using an optical cable with an older Samsung TV using DTS Neo 2.5. I would expect an HDMI ARC connection to be superior. The current setting gives me heavy bass and a full sound. The dialogue is generally clear and crisp, though occasionally a bit overwhelmed by the bass when watching movies (including DVDs). Normal TV shows are no issue at all. The SmartSound setting works very well, but you do have the options of surround sound, standard and gaming. You can also adjust the treble, bass and the subwoofer using the remote. I was ready to exchange this for the HM-R650 because of the R650's center channel for dialogue. I brought it home and found it to be a bit more tinny to my ear, so I have kept the R550. The R650 was on sale, but I did not feel for my use that the additional $100.00 was justified. Of course, everyone has their own sound preferences and listening in the store is usually not the same experience as you get at home. However, I listened to all of the soundbars you could sample in the store in this price range and read the reviews. The R550 sounded the best to me. In this instance, my store experience was borne out at home. Set up with my Samsung TV took only about 10 minutes. With the optical cable it turns on and off with the TV.

I'm glad to see you are very happily enjoying this soundbar.
To improve content where dialogue is being drowned out in scenes with heavy bass (like action scenes), please adjust Dynamic Range Control (DRC). With DRC turned on, loud sounds will be reduced.
1) Turn off your Soundbar.
2) While the Soundbar is off, press and hold the Sound Mode button on the remote control for 6 seconds until you see “DRC ON” shown on the display.
3) To turn off DRC, repeat steps 1 and 2 above.

Q: QuestionDo you have to use a separate remote control for the sound bar or does the one used with the TV work with it?
Asked by JumpSquad.
- A:Answer My cable remote(Spectrum) controls the tv and the soundbar very well. No need to use the soundbar remote at all.

Q: QuestionI was curious to see if I could purchase a separate individual Samsung 61/2” wireless woofer? Will I then be able to have 2 wireless Samsung speakers from this sound bar and be able to pair together?
Asked by Mike.

Q: QuestionDo this system connect to my Samsung tv Bluetooth without using a cable
Asked by Ham.
- A:Answer Yes, this soundbar will connect to your Samsung television using Bluetooth. I, personally, would recommend a direct connection for your soundbar, as Bluetooth is still susceptible to radiowave interference. You don't want your sound suddenly falling out!

Q: QuestionDo you need a hdmi cable?
Asked by bassplaya.
- A:Answer I used my optical input from speaker to tv without HDMI cable. HDMi cable can be used too. I believe it is one or the other option. If you are using HDMI, it has to be purchased separately. Cable doesn't come in the box.
