That being said...I used the digital hook-up but once it found the blue tooth it uses that. You will need to fidget with it to use the optical connection. The sound is far better. If you connect the optical and don't hear anything try adjusting the volume on the soundbar rather than the remote... that worked for me and then the remote was able to adjust the volume.

SYNC, VOLUME, AND OPERATION ALL BAD

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The problem with this sound bar is that the volume is no better than the Samsung TV that it was paired with which was a shock considering LG’s soundbars are much louder than their TV volumes. Also the sync is ridiculously difficult to manage, to the point that I realized there was not a way to correct my APPLE TV 4K’s sync because the numbers didnt go far enough back. I am a TV professional and sound sync is critical to my job and when I can’t fix it, I cant use it. Also, I experienced moments where the sound would bleed through the TV speaker and the sound bar simultaneously that was completely unlivable - especially because, as you can guess, the two were not in sync nor could they be placed in sync so it just sounded like echoes through the room. I was expecting a lot more from a 2020 product from Samsung to pair with a Samsung TV - the lack of sync is criminal. You have to choose between mediocre TV speaker sound (in sync) or good sound Out of sync but also with no ability to make the volume proper. I was at 100 on the sound bar and it was still difficult to hear. The 100 on my TV was no different. Until there is a significant resolution of how to fix the SYNC of these bars versus the TV there is no point of buying them. be inventive - use a camera phone video link to create a “slate” that will automatically put the TV in sync with the sound bar. There - free idea. Patent it and get back to me later. For now, I’m returning this one and getting the LG despite the fact that it won’t match. It will be better.

Please try the following: 1) Connect the Apple TV directly to the Soundbar via HDMI or 2) Change the settings in the Apple TV and adjust the Audio Format. Go to: Settings>Video Audio>Change Format

One important note: my Samsung TV was purchased in '14, so it is not a perfect fit. It works well enough and for the money, that's all I ask.

Surround sound is theater like

Not only was the price cheaper than Amazon but I have a store location to go, with humans in case anything was wrong. The sorround sound is incredible, it sounds like I have speakers through out my apartment even thought it's just the sound bar. I was assisted by Joseph at customer service pick up and he was incredible, really went above and beyond.

It has good sound, but if you are an audiophile, the separation of lows, mids and highs is not as pure or as clean as you would prefer. I like it for watching TV while I exercise.

Great sound. Also, ordered the surround speakers that are suggested for this soundbar. Easy set up as well. Would highly recommend. Love the sound and bass. Watching movies and sports are great! Had it for a month now and have no complaints.

Improved TV's Sound Quality

By connecting the soundbar to my TV, I was able to bring the sound forward and now I can actually hear a lot better when watching my movies without having to crank up my volume really loud. The Samsung T450 sound bar definitely improved the sound quality for TV.

Disappointed

Could not control the volume with the cable remote spent a week doing everything could to program it so I switched it to my Samsung tv in the bedroom same thing cant control the volume with cable remote. There is no display screen so I don't know if its on or off. Not a big fan of Samsung products anymore the TV I have takes 5 minutes to turn off I will buy LG from now on

Thank you for purchasing the HW-T450 Soundbar and for your review. Thank you for your feedback regarding your in-home audio output experience. Here are some tips to improve your experience at home:
First, please check that you have positioned the soundbar correctly. It has come to our attention that customers may be positioning the soundbar incorrectly, resulting in poor sound quality. The soundbar should be placed with the SAMSUNG logo facing up towards the ceiling. If you position the soundbar with the logo facing up, you will see the display/status panel and the speakers will be facing outward. (Refer to product photos on Samsung.com and zoom in on the photos) If you have incorrectly placed the soundbar with the SAMSUNG logo perpendicular to the floor (facing you when you sit), you will experience muffled or low quality sound because the unit will be resting on the speakers.
