The sound bar worked great for one week. After that it would disconnect from the TV by itself (new samsung tv). Tested my TVs Bluetooth and it paired fine with other devices, so i i know it wasn’t the TV. It would finally pair after multiple attempts just to unpair a day later. I downloaded the new firmware from samsung for it and it worked for a couple days then it started again with the same problems. I ended up having to send it in to samsung for repair. Owned less than a month.

Connection with the optical cord volume is very low even in max. Works better Bluetoothing to the TV, volume is better but not the best. Volume with Netflix is better with tv speakers and not soundbar. Also seems every 2 days we have to unplug power source and reconnect via Bluetooth as nothing will pair with it.

      Michelle,

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung HW-T450 Soundbar and for your review. I am very sorry that you are not happy with the volume of your soundbar. Simply changing the Digital Output Audio Format to PCM can help. You may want to try changing the Digital Output Audio Format to PCM.

This can be found at Home > Settings > Sound > Expert Settings. (It can also be found in the Quick Settings.)

If your Digital Output Audio Format isn't set to PCM, like for instance if you have a Dolby option selected, then you will likely notice decreased maximum volume. Dolby options are designed for surround systems (like 5.1 or 7.1), whereas PCM provides great sound quality for stereo speakers.

If you don't have a surround system, you will probably want to select PCM. You'll get much louder volume that way, and potentially better sound quality.

I am also very sorry to see that you are having connection issues between the soundbar and TV. If you are connecting wirelessly via Bluetooth, please follow these steps:

      1) Press the PAIR button on the remote to enter BT PAIRING mode
      a. or press the SOURCE button on the top panel and then select BT. “BT” changes to “BT PAIRING” in a few seconds automatically or changes to “BT READY” if there is a connect record.
      b. When BT READY appears, press and hold the SOURCE button on the top panel of the Soundbar for more than 5 seconds to display BT PAIRING.

      2) Select Bluetooth mode on the TV

      3) Select “[AV] Samsung Soundbar T4-Series” from the list on the TV’s screen. An available Soundbar is indicated with “Need Pairing” or “Paired” on the TV’s Bluetooth device list. To connect the TV to the Soundbar, select the message, and then establish a connection. - When the TV is connected, [TV Name] → “BT” appears on the Soundbar’s front display.

      4) You can now hear TV sound from the Soundbar.

If the device fails to connect
      - If a previously connected Soundbar listing (e.g. “[AV] Samsung Soundbar T4-Series”) appears in the list, delete it.
      - Then repeat steps 1 through 3

Once you have connected your soundbar for the first time, use the “BT READY” mode to reconnect.

      Please note:
      • In Bluetooth connection mode, the Bluetooth connection will be lost if the distance between the
Soundbar and the Bluetooth device exceeds 32.8 ft (10 m).
      • The Soundbar automatically turns off after 18 minutes in the Ready state.
      • The Soundbar may not perform Bluetooth search or connection correctly under the following
      circumstances:
      – If there is a strong electrical field around the Soundbar.
      – If several Bluetooth devices are simultaneously paired with the Soundbar.
      – If the Bluetooth device is turned off, not in place, or malfunctions.
      • Electronic devices may cause radio interference. Devices that generate electromagnetic waves
must be kept away from the Soundbar main unit - e.g., microwaves, wireless LAN devices, etc.

I hope this helps, should you need further assistance, please contact Samsung Customer Support at:

I bought this to go with my 65 inch tv, and man do i feel like im at the movies every night. To test the sound i needed a movie that had it all, visuals and sound, so i popped in Avengers Infinity War and Endgame. The sound was incredible just like being at the movies minus the popcorn smell:)

Thank you for sharing your review of the Samsung HW-T450. I am sorry to see that you are not completely happy with the sound performance. This soundbar features a powerful wireless subwoofer, as well as Game Mode, & Smart Sound which automatically detects what you're watching and optimizes the sound setting.

You can try manually optimizing your settings by pressing the SOUND MODE button on your remote, and then selecting the desired sound effect by choosing STANDARD, SURROUND SOUND, GAME, SMART, or DRC.

You can further adjust TREBLE and BASS via the SOUND CONTROL button (looks like a gear symbol).

We have a really nice Samsung TV So I thought getting a sound bar for it would be a great addition, but it turns out that the sound bar was actually worse quality than the built-in speakers of the TV we have, I know that’s not the case for every TV, and I’m sure the sound bar is good. We returned it because it didn’t quite fit the bill for my expectations.

Honestly, this sound bar is a pile of junk. Your mileage may vary, but when I play audio through the sound bar with the provided optical cable, it sounds more muffled and quiet than the TV speakers with HUGE volume differentiations between vocal scenes and action scenes. If you enjoy changing your volume every couple minutes, this is the sound bar for you. As far as bluetooth goes, they might as well have not included it on this model. It will work with the Samsung TV for a day or two before it no longer connects. When this happens, I have to unplug the entire soundbar and plug it back in, which allows it to connect and function for another 1 - 2 days if I'm lucky. Seriously, don't buy this sound bar. It's the most frustrating piece of technology I have probably ever purchased in my life.

I thought I’d have to spend much more but for my needs FE this was adequate. Not happy with speaker’s my tv had. This compensated for the TVs speaker volume. Really happy with this sound bar. Remember to get universal install bracket. Other wise you won’t be able to install.
