    Worst Icemaker EVER!

Bought this refrigerator 11/14. I wish I had paid more attention to the capacity of the Icemaker. Not only is it tiny, it only dispenses crushed ice, not matter the setting. Had it fixed once, problem persists. I like the refrigerator, but if you use ice, you won't be happy with this product.

    ice maker is SMALL

I guess I didn't realize what a small amount of ice 5.6 lbs. really is. If your family likes cold drinks, this is NOT the fridge for you. The ice maker is very SLOW. We are still buying ice every other day. Wish we had our old fridge back. A lot of money spent to be unhappy every day.

    Great until it broke.

We were pretty happy with this fridge - it was part of an exchange for an LG that had failed under warranty. They brought out the first one, which never did get cold, and then the second one, which seemed to work pretty well. It was a counter depth, which was a big plus in our little kitchen, and seemed to produce a decent amount of ice for our family of three. Then, 9.5 months into the warranty, it stopped cooling. It's taken almost three weeks and multiple calls to Samsung, their repair service agents and Best Buy to get to the point that they're talking about doing an exchange/refund. Best Buy has been awesome, Samsung has sucked. They asked for proof of purchase and I sent in a copy of my receipt five days ago, and then again this morning when I received a call that it hadn't been received. Apparently technology giant Samsung can't receive email attachments larger than 2MG in their executive customer relations department. I would like to love this fridge and would give it five stars except for the fact that warranty service with Samsung sucks.

    Don’t Buy Samsung

If I could give it no stars I would. This is the worst refrigerator I’ve ever owned. Don’t buy a Samsung they have major issues. Do your research we bought this on a whim because we thought it was a good deal. Everytime I open the fridge I say I hate this refridgerator. We don’t even have ice anymore and we find puddles of water on the floor.

Great fridge overall. But the ice maker always have issues. Bestbuy is quick to respond and will fix if warranty is active.

    Poorly made refrigerator

Not a good product. I had ice maker replaced, veggie bins replaced, inside shelves on door are not useful nothing fits in the two doors on ice maker side. Refrigerator design is not good. What sold me on the refrigerator was the top shelve that went up for tall bottles, the stainless steel is not of good quality for the money charged on this refrigerator so all in all the refrigerator is poorly made.

    Great Fridge, Terrible Ice Maker

I love the fridge which is why I hate to give a 2 star review. My parents bought the same fridge a month after I purchased mine. After 6 months we both started having ice making issues. My parents had a new ice maker installed. After one year and now out of warranty we both cannot go more than 2 days without the ice maker freezing up. I shut mine off and now it won't turn back on. The fridge is only 19 months old and no ice maker, my parents is 18 months old and they have to unclog the ice maker multiple times weekly.

    So quiet

This refrigerator is not installed in my kitchen yet. It is working perfectly right behind my living room chair (6'away) and I never hear it. Not hooked up to water yet, so not sure what the ice maker will sound like. I love this refrigerator. The deli drawer is great and operates as described in manual....love it. I also love the bottom freezer....but I knew this because my last freezer was on the bottom. Also like the push-back shelf that offers more space for tall items.

    Horrible

After a year, the ice mater started icing over. I chipped away at it and things were good for a few months. Then it happened again. And again. Now it's every few days. Apparently, there's a known problem where cracks develop around the edges and let moist air in whenever the fridge door is opened. There's an exhaust fan inside that ices up and before long, your ice maker turns into a solid chunk of ice and frost. Well, I live in the south, so it's humid most of the year. This means every few days, ice stops coming out and I have to take a knife and chisel out ice chunks and throw them away for ten minutes or so. Then we have ice again for a few days. Samsung support wants over $400 to come out and fix a known design flaw, because we're out of the 1 year warranty. I'm not paying, I'm also never buying another Samsung appliance. (We bought all new kitchen and washer and dryer Samsung appliances, because we thought they were quality)

Looks good disappointment- warranty is the warning

Thought spending pretty penny on a Samsung would be worth it. After all it looked great, had the features I wanted and was a good name brand. I forgot to pay attention to things like warranty and that just because you make great TVs doesn’t mean you know squat about making kitchen appliances. One year and two or three months into purchase noticed the ice trays in freezer (I use for cocktails) had a “glaze”to the ice as though the ice had been in the sun for minute or two. Two months later noticed the meat had thawed and there were no ice cubes. Finally called Samasung. So as I type this the repairman won’t be here for another week. I will be charged a $100 diagnostic fee, $100 labor fee and for whatever parts are needed for the repair. Note: if a warranty on a mid to high end product is ONE year (5 years for the stuff that doesn’t go bad) Then run...you might as well get a Kenmore...their stuff seems to last too long. BTW I suspect the electronics (not covered under the 5 year part) are the culprit. Long story short the compressor and cooling seems to work....but the fridge either stays on defrost to long or the temp sensors screwed up. Note and remember this... Samsung makes great phones....they should stick to that...#sofrustrated

    Waste of money

Purchased the entire Samsung suite a total waste of money. Had my 2nd repair today after 18 months of ownership, fortunately I purchased the extended warranty. The ice maker is a joke, our 2 member household runs out of ice daily. The microwave had to have the motherboard replaced at 6 months. The dishwasher is poorly designed & limits the placement of the dishes. The stove is the only piece worth owning. Would trash them all if it wasn't for the cost to replace them. The worst appliances I've ever owned.

    Didn't last a year and 1/2

I originally loved the fridge, then two weeks ago (1 year 4 months after the initial purchase) the unit started making a loud grinding noise. I immediately called Samsung for service. They weren't able to come out to look at my unit for eleven days. On then tenth day the cooling stopped and my food is now lost. Today I was told it would cost 7xx dollars to fix. I declined service. Do I really want to put more money into a brand that couldn't even last more than a year? I decided to call some additional service companies since the unit is now out of warranty, but no one in the area can service the fridge, because Samsung won't provide them with support. I recorded the noise my fridge was making and found a lot of people online with the same issue. Save your money and go with a company that's known for appliances and not computer monitors.

Great fridge but terrible aide maker design!

Fridge works great! On the other hand the ice maker is terrible. Had it fixed 3 times and still leaks. The ice maker will freeze due to the condensation that gets in. When if doesn’t freeze it leaks water from the dispenser. Never buying a Samsung again!

    Worst ice maker ever!!

This ice maker is the biggest pile of crap ever invented, EVER!!. Freezes over always. Replaced twice and still freezes over. Absolute pile!! The water comes out of it at a million miles an hour towards the back of the wall and sprayed everywhere. Not straight down into your cup but rather at the back of the wall... hate this fridge. HATE!!! Also, when you go to get ice it will take forever to get ice and when the door opens to let ice out water comes out because the seal is poorly designed. Stay away from this piece of crap. I have had it a year and want to throw it out of my house.

This is an awesome french door fridge/freezer We got the ice/water in the door. The water is colder than tap water but not ice cold. The ice maker is up top and takes up about the size of 3 dozen eggs stacked. I would get this one again!!!

If you have only Apple devices don’t expect the “smart” function to work. Just got off the phone with support and only android devices are supported with the Samsung apps. Yes there are 2 Samsung apps for iOS but they won’t work with this fridge! At no time was I warned by Best Buy or Samsung about this limitation.

We bought this refridgerator on 1/3/2019 and it's now 1/4/2022 and the geek squad warranty has expired on it for the ice maker. Since we purchased this fridge I've had to call Geek Squad numerous times for repairs to the ice maker. It now makes too much ice and doesn't stop when the bin is full and with my warranty expired through Best Buy my options are to contact Samsung or the 3rd party repair. I will never buy another big Samsung appliance.

The center flopper broke within a month

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The flopper in the center of the 2 top doors broke pretty much immediately. It's supposed to go vertical when closing the left door so it can slide into the hole on top to become horizontal for the right door to close, but it does not work properly so each time opening the left door requires the right door to be open as well. Called Samsung support, was told we have to buy part, told them we bought the fridge only a month ago brand new, then supposed to get a call back but never did. Their customer support is below par, took 45 minutes to get through, but still not resolved, the rep was almost rude. The fridge seems to be cheaply made, wimpy doors, easy finger print smudging, dirt shown easily on doors. Very disappointed with Samsung, especially with their customer support line.
