    Really Quiet

I am very happy with the dishwasher and wife especially loves the quiet run cycles. I am still not use to how quiet it is. With the stainless steel interior there are no smells coming from the inside like my old dishwasher this was surely a step up from our last one.

    A big nuisance.

This machine is VERY quiet. That's the best thing about it. After I purchased it, I regretted it pretty soon after. The rack doesn't allow for stacking large objects very well. Also, the top rack is narrow where the glasses stack on one side, so you're limited to one row for wider glasses. The utensil container is very flimsy, and the top of the holder either comes off or runs into the side of the dishwasher if I leave it up. The holder doesn't allow for long handled utensils. The thing that drives me the craziest is that the bottom rack derails when I push it in. I have to do it very gently to avoid it derailing. I think the problem is it's too light weight. When the cycle is done, there is no light to indicate the dishes are clean. It doesn't clean as well as my other dishwasher. All of these little things add up to a big nuisance.

Very good value for the price, with caveats

I did a lot of research before buying this dishwasher. It turns out it was not quite enough, so I'll pass along what I learned. I agree with many of the points mentioned in previous reviews and will reiterate some of them, but there is one important thing I learned only after purchasing the dishwasher. It might explain some of the complaints people have had about the dishes not being dry or clean. I'll mention this issue first… This dishwasher has a "hidden heating element" for increasing the temperature of the water. This is good news and bad news. The good news is that there is not a large exposed heating element in dishwasher like many other dishwashers. Plastic items that fall through to the bottom of the tub shouldn’t melt or be a fire hazard. When initially researching the dishwasher, I thought this was a clever design. The bad news is that the heating element is small and is limited in what it can do. At my house, it can take 30-90 seconds and/or a few gallons of water before hot water reaches the kitchen/dishwasher area. This dishwasher only uses a few gallons, so if hot water hasn’t been used by the kitchen sink recently, the dishwasher water will not get hot enough to clean and dry well. I had assumed that having a “Sanitize feature” that can heat the rinse water to 140-160 degrees meant that it had a sufficient water heater, but that’s not quite true if the initial water supply isn’t hot enough. To make it work well, I need to turn the kitchen sink on until the water starts to be hot before turning on the dishwasher. I almost returned it because of this, but with the other features and the price, I decided I can deal with that negative. • The dishwasher noise level is 50 decibels – a very acceptable sound level. It doesn’t have a “delay” option, but it doesn’t really need one because it is not that loud to run anytime. Additionally, because of the heating issues I mentioned above, I’m best starting it right after I’ve ensured hot water is available. • The stainless steel tub is great. It is very possibly the lowest-priced dishwasher with a stainless steel tub. • The dishwasher cleans very well if loaded properly. • The dishwasher dries fine as long as the water provided was reasonably hot. The stainless steel tub holds in the heat well from the final rinse which seems to help it dry even though it does not have a heated dry cycle. The dishes won’t likely be dry after the dishwasher is done, but will dry fine later. • The aesthetics are nice. The buttons are easy to navigate. • I was considering trying to install the dishwasher myself, but I’m glad I got it done through Best Buy. It was complicated enough I would have run into issues. • I had seen complaints from people about having rack-loading issues, but I don’t really see that problem. The difference might be that some people are used to loading dishes front/back rather than left/right. • The complaints about the racks not being secure are somewhat valid. There is a “groove” in the door to try to keep the wheels in place, but it probably could stand to be deeper because it’s not difficult for the racks to get out of the groove. Not a big deal – just takes pulling or pushing the racks accurately. After the initial disappointment about the heating issue, I’m pleased with the dishwasher now.

Very Quiet, only so so at drying.

Compared to my previous dishwasher that sounded like a semi-truck when draining this thing is as quiet as a mouse. The loudest part of the washing cycle is the sound of water going through the valve. Sounds similar to a faucet. Cleans very well, does not entirely dry the dishes. We have soft water and use a rinse agent. They come out clean, but not always dry. My old dishwasher didn't always dishes very well either but would put out a lot of heat. Overall, a very good dishwasher for the money. Very happy that salesman at Best Buy talked me out of the cheaper Frigidaire.

At the store the lay out of the racks seemed great... at home using it not so much. It is hard to fit deep dishes like bowls and tupperwear in any where but the top rack... once in the top rack you lose space for glasses. I cook a lot and use multiple pot and pans doing so. After dinner over I have to do two loads or hand wash the remaining dishes. Now that is my only complaint. Every thing else about this product is great so far. Only had it for a month. All of my kitchen appliences are Samsung and I love them all.

    Stay away from this dishwasher

Bought this dishwasher, replacing a Maytag. It's very quiet while running. It holds a lot of dishes. The inside stays pretty wet all the time. The utensil basket is awkward. I tried putting the pieces in the basket holes (some of my silverware are too fat and wouldn't fit) and some didn't come out clean even though completely separated. If you leave the basket tops open, they catch on the door when you try to shove the bottom rack back inside. The top rack is flimsy when you pull it out and I'm sure it won't last long. Bottom line, the first load of dishes were not completely clean. The second load I washed 2 times, and some were still dirty. I returned it to Best Buy and gonna try Bosch.

    Poor dishwasher

This dishwasher has really lowered my opinion of Samsung. The dishes come out with a residue no matter what I do to try and correct the problem. Soap residue is all over the inside of the dishwasher too. Racks are very cheap and don't roll in and out nicely (they stick). Oftentimes the bottom rack comes off the track. I've actually broken glasses trying to push top rack in because as I pushed in top rack it got stuck on track causing it to abruptly stop and the glasses to tip over. It does have a lot of room though, and an adjustable upper rack. The bottom rack has a removable plate and silverware holder. The machine is quiet. It lights up clean when it's done, which is nice. For the huge discount we ended up getting, we just decided to keep it cause we didn't want to go through the hassle. I would stay far away from it though.

I intended to purchase a dishwasher in the $500 price range, in stainless steel. I had one selected thru Best Buy's online products and went to the store to see it. The salesman showed me another, this Samsung, that was actually a bit cheaper due to a good sale price, but had more features. I am so glad he guided me to this one! It is beautiful, it cleans very well, and it is so quiet--50 or 51 decibel rating, which is ideal because it is in a great room where we watch TV.

I just put this dishwasher in last week, but it's performed flawlessly. My house was built in 1920, and never had an automatic dishwasher. After some plumbing upgrades, I was finally able to make a dishwasher happen. This was easy to install and has all of the cycles we need to get dishes clean. The stainless steel tub and versatility of racks were a huge selling point for us & Samsung makes a fantastic product.

So far I have really been pleased with this product. The install was easy to do myself and the dishwasher is exceptionally quiet. I can only barely hear it over the fridge. We have an island with the dishwasher attached, and the back of it faces the TV room. The original dishwasher with the home was loud and caused us to turn up the TV. This dishwasher is hard to hear from the couch with the TV off. For the price, I am very happy with the purchase. It contains a fair number of options. Keep in mind that new regulations have pushed washers to accomplish the same things with less energy and water. This has lead to slightly longer wash cycles, but honestly how fast do your dishes need done when you push a button and walk away. Overall very happy, wish the door locked like older models, kept the young ones out. Also, mine came with a broken rear adjusting foot. Check that early on, I will have to ask Samsung for a repair.

I love that my dishes are actually clean and that it works so quietly I can barely tell it is on! Bad news is the drying function basically is useless. I have to open the door a couple inches and let it air dry for an hour, then put the dishes away. All in all a good buy for what I needed.

Have had this since 2012 but have had one problem

When we first got this dishwasher we were amazed how quiet it was but it did take a long time to wash the dishes, an hour or more. We now prefer the Heavy cycle on all washes. At the almost 5 year mark it broke down giving us a two light signal: Heavy and Smart Auto blinking, indicating Over level water error. Since we had a 5 year extended warranty we called Best Buy and they sent somebody out. At first he replace the fill sensor mechanism on the side of the dishwasher, but no luck, still got the error. Then he sent me a new circuit board that I installed in order to speed up the process. Still no luck. Then he discovered the a black hose on the bottom of the dishwasher had clogged with residue and wan’t allowing free flow of water. All he did was dump out the clogged hose and it was fixed. This hose is under the bottom plate when you turn the dishwasher on its side. It is the most propionate hose of the two there. Just disconnect it and dump it out, very quick fix. Now fast forward to 2020, same thing happened, same error code. Since he showed me the problem I now knew what to look for, pulled the dishwasher out, turned it on its side, took off the bottom plastic panel, disconnected the hose, dumped out the contents stuck in the hose, put it all back together and it is now fixed just as before. I did notice a little grease leakage on the bottom panel I pulled of so I’m crossing my fingers that the pump doesn’t go out. So far it had been a pretty good dishwasher. When you put dishes in make sure you close the door if they sit their for a few days. The dishes wash better if they don’t dry out too much. Also, as I said before, if you want a really good wash job on all your dishes use the heavy cycle every time. Not a bad dishwasher for 8 years old. Hope I can get at least 10 years out of it. We have the DW7933 series.

Was great for a year...and then...

I have enjoyed my Samsung for just over one year. In fact. one year and five (5) days. Then, I woke up one morning and the front panel showed a flashing light. Using the troubleshooting guide in the owner's manual, I noted this was an error code for a leak. I called Samsung, and they confirmed. I did not buy the extended warranty, so there was nothing Samsung could do since the manufacturer's one year parts and labor had expired. so, I called for service. When the tech came out he cringed. He said this is one of the worst manufacturers of dishwashers. He is not only getting a lot of service calls, but repeat calls. When he's fixed one part, the machine works for a time and then something else goes. After doing due diligence, to be sure it wasn't something easier to fix, he gave me an estimate for a minimum of $350 to repair with a possibility of $450. The dishwasher originally cost us around this amount! Needless to say, I declined service. I will be buying a different model.

I honestly haven't found anything 'bad' about this dishwasher. It's flat out awesome. (Though we did manage to melt some plastic items when we tried out the sanitize mode by accident) The top area is huge... spacious enough that we can wash most pots up there. This is a huge bonus over our old washer (which this replaced) because, back in the stone ages, we used to have to put our pots on the bottom tray which often meant the top tray didn't get as clean, if it got cleaned at all, when we did pots in the load. Not a problem now. The pots go up top just fine and we can even put smaller items like cups right up there with them either separately or with the pots over top of them and everything gets cleaned. Because the pots can go up top there's absolutely bucket loads of room down below for dishes and pan lids and other things. I also like the silverware trays as they have slotted areas to put your silverware in so that each one is separate and they get much cleaner that way. If you don't want to use the slotted covers just flip them up and, voila, you can go oldschool and just drop them in the buckets to get cleaned (though they really do get cleaner using the slotted areas). The washer has several different cycle modes but for most uses you'll just use normal. The one thing I do want to do is warn you about the Sanitize mode... It's AWESOME! Be careful with Sanitize mode, however, because it makes the washer crank up to 180 degrees to kill germs... be careful what plastic items you run through this mode. We have an incredibly cool shaped pitcher now because it partially melted when we ran it through sanitize mode because it wasn't designed to handle that kind of heat. For the price you can't beat this thing, it's amazing. I'm just worried about one thing... since it's rectangular Apple may raid my house and then sue me for having it.

I am surprised about some of the negative reviews on here about this dishwasher. It's quiet, cleans well, and dry's well. What more could you ask for. I bought this dishwasher open box and got an awesome deal. After using it for a while I would have paid full retail. Completely satisfied and would highly recommend this model.
