I had thought "smart fridges... that's stupid". Was I ever wrong. This fridge is outstanding and I am hooked. The flex zone is really nice. We use it to chill wine and drinks and the remaining freezer section is plenty big enough for a family of 4. The camera is nice and the picture is clear. We don't use that too much but the smart features are simply exceptional. We constantly use the family calendar which is on display when the screen detects someone in front of it. The shopping list is used by the whole family. We love the white board application. My wife went out of town and was able to post pictures on the fridge from her sister's! Very cool (no pun). We love being able to play spotify in the kitchen. Pretty much like an android smart phone as far as the apps go. Bixby is great as well. We simply say "hey bixby.. set a timer for ___" or "hey bixby, what's the weather?" I highly recommend not just this fridge but the smart version. You wont regret it

    Best refrigerator I’ve ever had!

My family of 4 has gone through several brands of fridge, and the Samsung Family Hub is by far the best one. Top reasons are: 1) even and fast cooling performance, 2) ease of usability, 3) high-tech yet simple to learn, 4) made in Korea, 5) cool factor. 1) This fridge excels in cooling – I had to keep the doors open for several minutes while cleaning and loading it, and only about 5 minutes later, the temperature came down to normal range. This is important to keep food safely. 2) Overall design of the doors, shelves and bins are ergonomic so it’s easy to operate. 3) There are many features included in Family Hub screen, and we found the features to be intuitive to learn and use. We love the great sound quality coming out of the AKG speaker, the family note and calendar feature, and the way I can see the camera of the Ring door bell. In addition there are many other useful features too many to list here. 4) Manufactured in Korea must be high quality. I know Korea commands premium for their production so I expect this fridge to last me a long time without any problems. 5) Friends and relatives make a big deal of it when they visit my house. I don’t have to say anything, but they get really into it, and make it an interesting conversation piece. Technology has certainly come a long way, even in a mundane appliance like a refrigerator. I researched other top brands before purchase, and I am certainly confident that I made the right decision. I don’t own any product that doesn’t have some downside. On Family Hub, they are: 1) black stainless steel is very nice for finger print resistance and being a cool new trend. But I find it little too dark in my kitchen. That might be because I’ve always had white appliances previously, so I’m not used to it. 2) the height is likely one of the tallest in the market. I had to cut down the cabinet above it an eighth of an inch to fit. The end result was great, but it took an extra step. Overall, I’m very impressed with Family Hub for its quality, usability, and features. Highly recommended!

    Awesome Fridge

While this will take a little time getting used to because of how this fridge is setup we love it. There is a ton of space and with the flex space on the bottom we have even more. We are used to a bottom freezer and a large drawer in the bottom of the fridge for deli meats, cheeses, etc... that is not part of this fridge but we use the flex space in the bottom right for those items now. The left side is the freezer and we don't mind only using half the bottom for the freezer since we have a freezer in the garage. We just keep the everyday items like ice cream or my daughters frozen snacks there. Now the features on the Family Hub are amazing. I have configured it to our families shared Microsoft calendar as well as we have setup the shopping list and our Ring camera's and much more. The only drawback that I'm finding is that we can't setup with just any app that we want or currently use. For example we use Microsoft To Do for our shopping lists and various things. With Family Hub you must use their list, which is very nice but it would be nice to choose, or at least use thiers for the groceries and then all of our other lists on our choosen app. 2nd is you must use Bixby for voice commands, you can't incorporate Alexa which I have all over the house and don't plan on changing. We are used to having Alexa add shopping items to our "To Do" lists and that can't be done with the Family Hub so that is a major disappointment and I hope that is changed with updates in the future. There are way too many features to list but this thing is awesome. I only give 4 stars for not opening up the Family Hub a little more. It's an Android tablet in essence but locked down.

Excellent purchase! We have grandchildren that also seem to love the Family Hubb and use it often for You Tube, drawing on the White Board and looking up things of interest on line. Did I mention the great music channels? Grandkids found them. Upon their going to their home, our music is turned on with soothing, quiet tones. There is a huge amount of space in the fridge. The fact that we are able to see the contents of what is in the fridge is great as we make decisions on purchases and or usage of the contents. The Beverage Center is hidden inside the fridge door and the water dispensed and in the self filling water pitcher are ice cold...did I mention the two types of ice cubes in the bins? We also love that the outside surfaces are fingerprint resistant. The only small are of frustration was that the bottom lights of the fridge did not come on. Best Buy sent out the installers to check for a lose connection but they could not diagnose or repair. We called Best Buy again and they would not address the repair and instead gave us the phone number for the manufacture Samsung.

This is the newest 2018 product and it's amazing. You don't have to worry about what you have in this refrigerator due to it having 3 cameras inside that will tell you what you have when you are away. It have a huge tablet they will help you cook too. It know when your food about to spoil and it will connect with other product in the house like your Samsung tv that you can watch from your room to the kitchen.

It’s a fancy fridge. It’s cool that you can connect your music to play while cooking. Has the ability to view the contents in the fridge. Has an app to Lee track of the expiration of your items. It’s just humbug that you’ll have to get in the habit to update it every time you add or take things out. To me it’s too time consuming. Able to keep all your families appointment, but I’ve been having problems connecting it to my iPhone calendar. Only after 3 months we had to have the ice machine fixed. It’s a known flaw with Samsung fridges. Other than that we haven’t really had any other problem.

This fridge it's amazing, I was hesitant because never had a Samsung appliance before, but for now better than expected, got it with some freebies, the ring pro, an echo dot 3, delivery and water connection, kids love it, connect to the phone, the apps to hear music, check the ring camera, cooking recipes, fridge inside cameras, taking notes, etc, it's a great fridge, the only downside was delivery, fridge barely fit through the door and had a very small scratch on the side, barely could see it, not to deep, just the texture paint, the good thing this fridge comes with a thick side paint texture, the door frame and bottom plate damage on my main door, new house, not even a month, called best buy and they help me right away, they paid for all damages. I never had issues with Best Buy, this was a little mistake, but I will still trust them, they really take care of you, thanks.

After reading the reviews and seeing the complaints about the ice maker, I went ahead and bought one. I really love it - all except the ice maker! It hasn't gone out yet, but it's slow to dispense and you have to depress the lever in a sweet spot to get it to work. You'd figure they'd notice the design flaw by now and do something about it. It's a lot to spend on a refrigerator. All of it should work -and work well. It's a shame because there are so many other cool features.

First and foremost - this thing has way more space than our Whirlpool side by side that decided to quit on us. We actually didn’t want the flex fridge, wanted another side by side, but thanks to COVID this is all that was available. We didn’t like spending the extra money but so far the fridge seems really worth it. The space is the most noticeable difference, flex feature definitely worth it. Having a really wide upper fridge has been great for a family of 4. It is a bit noisier, just slightly, than our Whirlpool was but then again our Whirlpool broke 3 times, repaired twice. The tech - great to be able to look in your fridge, unfortunate there aren’t more cameras though. Syncing up with SmartThings takes some patience but eventually great to have washer/dryer and range all connected on the fridge. Notifications are super useful. Although still haven’t figured how our connected range is of much use - separate ST issue. The fridge tries and fails to identify your items, it’s more entertaining than useful. Perhaps this will improve with time, maybe not as some apps seem like they are already extinct. Amazon is super useful to have on the fridge. Bixby is not that great, hard to get bixby to even recognize it’s been called - have to raise your voice. Plenty of music app, speaker is a bonus.

    failed after 20 months

It looks good until it will fail, my freezer at 45F and not working, while top part working fine and holding expected 37F. No error codes, self check OK. It's a nice looking unit but such catastrophic failure just after original warranty expiration is not a very good sign, if you look online its a well-known issue, most will fail between year 4-6, I'm a lucky one at 20 months; so don't expect it to work past that. I will not buy any Samsung Fridges after this one. My 30 years OLD GE still working in my vacation house with minimal maintenance and just a few brackets replaced that you can still get parts on. If you read more on Samsung pro forums, you basically can't get any parts after 6 years. I originally paid almost $4000 for this unit ( and yes my model number a little bit different but Samsung keep changing numbers but inside fridge is exactly the same with same parts, only changes between 2017 and 2018 models in Screen Softawere Hub updates )

I bought the fridge in 2019 as well as a 3 yr warranty from BB. Started having trouble with the ice maker a few weeks ago so I went online to see if I could find a fix, since my warranty expired a few months ago. I see hundreds of people are having the exact same issue where the ice maker leaks water inside and outside and freezes up. Called BB and they offered me a year Geek Squad subscription for $199. But that doesn't cover service charges, parts or labor. Oh they said I could get in touch with Samsung but we all know how that goes.

This is a very nice refrigerator and we really appreciate the no fingerprint stainless steel outside of the door faces but if you get the one with the touchscreen in the door, there will be prints on the screen constantly. There are also chrome strips on the outside edge of all 4 doors where you grip to open the doors that show smudges and fingerprints quite vividly. The only other concern we have is the fact that the doors actually fight you to keep from closing. Our old refrigerator was leveled so that the doors would close themselves but these almost refuse to close and then send you a signal to your cell phone in addition to the fridge chiming a fairly loud signal to let you know that the door was left open. I would still recommend this refrigerator because it has some nice features...you just have to get used to the quirks.

I have only had this refrigerator for a few days so far and this is my thoughts so far. The refrigerator itself is working very well, it is cooling at the right temps in the right areas. The Ice maker works well, although it seems to be kind of slow on the production at first, it dispenses well. The water dispenses at a great pace, better than my 15-year-old Samsung it replaced. The space I have now compared to my 24.9cu side by side is very noticeable in a good way. The outside finish is the Black Stainless Steel, it does get fingerprints, but I have a microfiber and warm water on the ready for this. As for the Hub part, I am pretty happy with it, it does have some things that Samsung needs to update/adjust. The good things: I have had no issues connecting any of the apps to the internet like Pandora, iHeartRADIO, Tunin, Weather, Smartthings, etc. Make sure you have a good connection in your kitchen. The internet browser works good, no issues. Youtube, Facebook had no issues. You will not be able to watch Netflix on it, no Silverlight support :( I tried, ADD NETFLEX Samsung!) I find I am using the shopping list and it is nice you can move the items from the shopping list to the frig easily. I was using the shopping list on my Echo. The interface is very easy to figure out and use, I am a techy person, but my wife is not and she was navigating with no issues right from the start. The first firmware update took 20secs, and it was up and running. An iPhone will work with the Samsung Hub app, and it is very useful for what it is. It works great with my Ring Doorbell. The Flex Zone door was a main reason we picked this one, we plan on buying less frozen food. This model has the water and ice lever under the shoot compared to other models where you need to select water/ice/crushed ice, I like that. The things that need work (many of this things will hopefully be addressed with future updates: Bixby is no Alexa, the voice assistant on the frig is very limited as of now. I hope to see Samsung update this asap. If you have an iPhone you can not stream off of your iPhone. If you do not have a Samsung TV you can not cast to your Hum Frig. This is a big one that needs attention at least for me. Within the "Deals" app there is "Coupons" this feeds any deals you find into your loyalty accounts at stores you shop at. The big problem is they do not have any stores in my area, not even the big chains, Kroger, Safeway, Albertsons, and Walmart (they don't do coupons but I thought I would list it). What a big let down! It needs more apps, of course, I will say that there is no app store so we must wait until Samsung decides to add whatever apps they like. App needed, Netflix, Amazon Video, Redbox, Amazon Shopping, to list a few. Hub/Smartthings needs to work with more smart things in my house. Unless I have not figured out how to yet here are the smart devices that I do not have connected to the frig yet. Lift Light bulbs, Smart Plugs, Amazon echos, Sony Smart TV's and Receivers, b-hyve water management system (mister system), My-q garage door opener hub., Nest thermostat. The camera view inside the frig is cool, but not as useful as you might think, it does look very good, just you can't see things behind things, and in the doors or Freezer. The water filter while easy to replace and out of the way is expensive at $9 every 6 months, an inline filter may be an option down the road. (I know, I spend $3,500 on a frig why would i complain). Again no streaming apps like Netflix, Amazon Video (for those of use that do not have Samsung TV's or Phones).

I had this same refrigerator without the family hub. It was only 4 years old. Only purchased for the family hub...I have 2 issues, so far. #1 The interior door storage is about 1/2 the depth of my previous refrigerator. I didn't even look at the door storage when I purchased. Shelving on left middle shelf is pretty worthless. Of course, my old shelves don't fit the new fridge...so I can't swap out. #2 Mirroring . .you are sucked in by the fact you can mirror your Samsung TV to this fridge..yes and no..you can IF your TV is a 2015 and later model AND your TV is within 39 unencumbered feet of the fridge. If I had a TV that close, I wouldn't need to mirror. I hate sneaky marketing ploys. I spent $3,300.00 on a refrigerator, that I really didn't need, but wanted, and not only did I lose storage space, but the main aspect I purchased it for, that function is basically non existent.

Love all the features on this refrigerator: the screen to display pics of our grandkids, the shelves and drawers in the freezer, the larger interior, the shopping list that syncs to the app on our phones (helps ALOT with grocery shopping), etc. Another feature we love is to be able to pull up videos of some of our favorite recipes so that we can follow along. No more need to use our phones or tablets when we're trying out a new recipe! This fridge is truly a game-changer!! (Just wish we could use some of our non-Samsung apps on the fridge, too ... we have iPhones!)
