I recently upgraded to the Samsung Odyssey G8 Ultra Wide OLED, and it’s hands-down the most impressive monitor I’ve ever used. The oled panel delivers deep blacks and vibrant colors that make games and movies feel incredibly immersive. The 175Hz refresh rate combined with near instant response times makes fast-paced gameplay buttery smooth perfect for shooters and racing games. The ultra-wide 34” curved display really pulls you in. Whether I’m gaming or multitasking, having that much screen space changes everything. It’s also surprisingly sleek for such a large monitor the slim bezels and premium design look fantastic on my desk. Setup was straightforward, and I appreciated the built-in smart TV features like streaming apps, which means I can use it without my PC on. If I had to nitpick, the brightness could be a little higher for certain HDR content, but it’s still one of the best displays I’ve ever seen. Overall, this monitor exceeded my expectations. If you want a high end ultra wide for both gaming and productivity, the Odyssey G8 OLED is worth every penny.

I wanted so badly to love it—it’s Alienware, after all. But as sleek as it looked, it didn’t offer any sound capabilities, and for the price, it lacked anything truly groundbreaking to set it apart. It was good, but not great. I needed more, and that’s when I stumbled upon the Samsung Odyssey G8 34-inch. From the moment I set it up, I knew this was something special. The CoreSync lighting system was a revelation—it doesn’t just sit on your desk; it transforms your entire gaming or productivity environment. The colors sync so effortlessly with whatever you’re doing on-screen that it creates an experience, not just a display. Combine that with the monitor’s stunning design—razor-thin, sleek, and unapologetically premium—and you’ve got a product that feels just as incredible as it looks. Initially, I struggled to justify the price, even though it was worth every penny. I returned it after my first purchase, thinking I could live without it. Big mistake. Within two weeks of using another monitor, I couldn’t stop thinking about the G8 and regretting my decision every single day. The moment it went on sale again, I didn’t hesitate—I bought it back and haven’t looked back since. The Samsung Odyssey G8 isn’t just a monitor; it’s an investment in quality, immersion, and pure enjoyment. If you’re tired of settling for less and want something that truly stands out in every way—design, performance, and features—this is the one to get. I’m so glad I gave it a second chance, and you won’t regret giving it a first.

The Samsung 34” Odyssey OLED G8 is incredible. The picture quality is sharp with deep blacks and vibrant colors, and the 175Hz refresh rate makes games run smooth without tearing. The curved ultra-wide screen is perfect for both gaming and multitasking, and the anti-glare finish works great in bright rooms. Setup was simple, the design looks premium, and having smart features built in is a big plus. One of the best upgrades I’ve made to my setup. Not a huge fan of the OS on it and would love to disable it but other than that it’s brilliant

Great looking monitor! For the last 8 years I had been running a 40” Sony 4K XBR TV for my gaming set up. It was fine when playing consoles but I was never in love with it for fast action PC games. This monitor looks amazing and the fact that I can unleash my GPU without worries of ghosting or screen tearing is amazing! It even looks good on the old consoles. PS3 and Wii U have never looked so crispy! I’d highly recommend if you’re looking at a nice quality gaming monitor!

This is the first gaming monitor I’ve had and I have so far been impressed. Not only does this get up to 120hz but it also has speakers and built in Apps. A lot of monitors don’t offer all of that. I also really like the wide screen, which did take a bit of time to figure out to how to get the PS5 and monitor settings to allow it, but man it’s impressive.

Absolutely an amazing product! I am so happy I decided to get this monitor for work. It feels like a whole new experience. The customer service was also amazing. He knew everything and helped me decide on a monitor that fits my exact needs.

This monitor supports HDMI 2.1 and it is gorgeous. Unfortunately i returned it because i use PS5 for gaming and ended up going for the 32in. But other than this 34in not supporting PS5 game play in the full screen option, it was amazing to use for work as i program and it allowed me to have multiple windows open and have it split screen as well with another option for viewing. The older models use HDMI mini but this one uses the standard one which was changed because of a lot of backlash which i was grateful for. All of the connections you need are in the box.

Color and brightness is great for an OLED in both a bright and dark environment. The curve isn't aggressive so it's great for first time curved monitor users. Also impressed that I didn't really see any purple tint coming from the panel. Only downside is the Samsung Hub. Feels like it can get in it's own way of just being a monitor.

Man… once you go ultrawide AND OLED you don’t go back… this monitor has been worth it from the start!! I’m so glad I upgraded to it! The blacks and colors are soooo rich and clear! I can game with smaller screen ratios and won’t notice the black bars on the side because of the individual leds that don’t turn on in those spots so it essentially feels like it’s not there!

hands-down the most beautiful monitor I have ever purchased this replaced two smaller gaming monitors, and I will never go back. The only drawback is the software. It is not the best but once you get it down everything about this monitor is more than great. Amazing build quality as well!

The colors are deeper than anything ive ever seen and the apps just make it that much better. Only issues ive had is it taking a while to boot up and randomly going to home or not picking up the display port connection at times.

Awesome monitor! 34" is the perfect size for bath dialy tasking and playing! It has built-in speakers and apps so you can watch movies without the need of a connected device.

Excellent monitor. For sure overkill for a PS5 and I would recommend not getting an ultra wide if on console but other than that there isn't a feature on this thing that you won't enjoy.

Purchased this expensive monitor for work M-F 8:30 to 5 and shut down nightly. After 3 weeks of no issues. Today once power on, I could feel the heat coming from the monitor and warm to the touch. Samsung,I am disappointed in this product defect for the high price paid. Sorry I can't return to best buy because I already recycled the box. This sucks!

I'm a Samsung fanboy, I have a Samsung phone, tablet, earbuds, and TVs. It being a Samsung monitor, and being my first Oled monitor, I was very excited to get this. I upgraded from an led monitor, and man! I was blown away by the colors and deep blacks! So the panel itself is great, but they ruined it by adding the useless Tyzen OS. It took me longer to sign into the monitor with my Samsung account, go through a bunch of settings, user agreements, and familiarizing with the menus to find the input for my PC than pulling it out of the box and finding a good spot on my desk. It's a monitor! I should not have to go through all that to set up a monitor, that's all on my PC, which I plan to use. It's because Samsung, with their infinite wisdom, decided they needed to make the monitor double as a TV, which is completely useless since people will use it with a PC or even a console. And when I wake my PC, the game menu pops up, then I have to wait for it to go away. The result is a bad monitor and a bad TV. If thinking about getting this monitor, get one that doesn't have Tyzen and doesn't try to be a TV. I already ordered one from LG, with 240hz.
