I'd keep this one over a newer $750 model for now.

We have had to replace the drain pump at 2 years and the door lock assembly at 5 years (super easy DIY jobs if you can turn a screwdriver!) Critters love to live inside since the bottom is completely open. The door seal leaks at the bottom from time to time, Yet, I have to say I love this washing machine. It uses less power than the identical LG unit and you can't go wrong with the direct drive motor.

Love the look and efficiency of this washer. Used the sanitize cycle on outside work clothes. The musty smell was completely gone.

    this product is a lemon

We bought the samsung washer and after 11 months it broke with code FL and the washer wouldn't lock. It was under warranty so Samsung replaced a defective circuit board at the back of the washer. After a few months it broke again but samsung told us their replacement part was only warranteed for 30 days. The cost to come back out and repair was going to be bout $400. And at this point we've been without a washer for 3 weeks trying to figure out how to deal with this situation. Frankly it's easier to go back to Best Buy and get an LG or whirlpool to replace it and not have to deal with this problem. I will not buy Samsung again.

Motor died just a few months outside warranty

Motor went just a few months out of warranty. I was told it was due to hair clog in motor but I clean the filter faithfully every month. This machine does not have a belt. It is an electric drive be system. I can’t help but wonder if this is a factor in the machines failure. I was very disappointed in the lack of dependability.

Samsung front load washing machine is great until the day the warranty runs out. Dealing with Samsung is worse than surgery without anesthesia. Never again, and that includes all Samsung products.

    great washer

This HE washer is almost perfect. It has the most annoying on/off music, which you can turn off, but then there's no end of wash notification. Only other complaint is the door seems cheap, and doesn't always shut right. Otherwise works as it is supposed to, with plenty of wash options. Color is nice too, with a stainless top.

    Buyer Beware

Seal on this washing machine broke after 3 months of normal household use. Samsung would not cover the part under warranty and we will be paying for the repair out-of-pocket.

    Great washer, but noisy

Love the fact that you can turn on or off the end music. Different cycles are easy to understand and the quick wash seems to do the job well and much quicker than the other cycles. This machine is upstairs near the bedrooms and in a room that has no door...very loud, even with the bedroom door closed. The monthly or 40 wash cycle clean to prevent mildew seems very long.

1 year warranty on mechanical. Unit is so loud that we can not do laundry with the laundry room door open. Look at most of the other reviews, they are right after the unit is purchased. I believe the seal went on the drum and the bearing is failing do to water damage. The same issue has occurred on our unit and a friends unit. Pretty much a throw away unit after the first year.

Poor Cleaning - But it's Fancy

This is a fairly expensive, and very fancy washer. It has many different cycles to choose from and some pretty fancy options. That said, it does NOT clean your clothes well at all. After watching a few cycles it is easy to see that the poor cleaning is likely a result of very, very low water use. I may have a service representative take a look, but after reading other reviews it appears this is a very common issue and complaint. The Samsung service request form even has a specific option for it. I have now been manually adding 2-3 extra gallons, and can say once it has an appropriate amount of water it does a good job- but it's a huge pain in the butt, and something I shouldn't have to do. Unfortunately, according to Samsung, there is no easy way to increase the water it uses. I would HIGHLY recommend checking other brands or models, or going with a top-loader (probably the best option).

    Samsung washers keep getting better

Previously had a first generation front loading Samsung washer. After 10 years, it finally gave out via some sort of electrical glitch that couldn't be diagnosed. We like the new one so much more. Clothes come cleaner and more cycle options make it easier to get exactly the wash you want.

This washer does everything and more. By more I mean that it can Steam clothes, which comes in handy a lot when I am running short on time to iron. The only thing that can get annoying is the little jingle that plays after a load is done, it feels like a minute long lullaby.

    Disappointing extended service contract

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

So, we got the 5 year extended service plan on this washer, and now 4 years into owning it, the washer is having problems. Our complaint isn't with Best Buy, Samsung, or the onsite service tech per se, but rather the extended warranty company seeming to give us the run around. Each time we've requested a service tech to visit and look over the machine, because the service tech says, "everything looks fine", but an hour after he leaves, it quits AGAIN (won't spin), they make us wait longer for the next available appointment to get another tech to us. The Samsung owner's manual says the motor is guaranteed for 10 years, but for whatever reason, the washer doesn't spin anymore. It's not an over-suds issue, not an overload issue. It even a few times showed a "3E" error code that indicates a motor problem. This is their last chance to address and correct the problem: we will have been without a functional washer getting nearer a month by the time this next service visit happens: if they don't fix it correctly, and don't offer to replace the washer (extended service terms), we will NOT be getting our next washer from Best Buy: this service contract company reflects poorly on them.

    HORRIBLE WASHER

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I ordered them a couple months ago and my contract just finished the basement up. Install and these things are nothing but trouble. The most current issue after weeks of issues is it has not even been able to wash one load yet. Once it hits the spin cycle it thrashes about and tries to buck the drier off and yes, it has the almost $50 stacking kit holding them together. I have no idea what to do and since I had to wait to install them, my options are thin.
