Good while it lasted
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this washer (with corresponding dryer) in March of 2015. It's just had a major electronic failure after only two and a half years of light duty - just my wife and I, maybe 3-4 loads a week. The washer no longer fills with water on the normal and heavy duty cycles, the other cycles all work normally. No error message. The unit thinks it has water and starts the washing cycle anyway. I called Samsung, thinking there might be a know bad electronic component. They were no help. Bottom lines: •These appliances are not designed or built to last. •If you buy one, buy the extended warranty. •I will never buy another Samsung appliance of any kind. Better luck if you do buy one or have one!

Horrible Waste of Money!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Honestly the biggest piece of garbage I've ever bought in my life! We've always had top load washers, and I really wanted to try out a front load one. They look sharp! When I got the thing home, though, I was INSTANTLY disappointed in my purchase. I wish I could give it zero stars because that's really what it deserves. On the spin cycle, this thing jumps all over the place and often unplugs from the wall because of that. I've leveled out the washer, turned it to spin on low, and it keeps doing it! I've had this thing for three days and I cannot stand it. I'm going in today to return it.

Too noisy to keep
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Washer tub spinning noise at start was similar to if I was kicking it. It was leveleled well and was not touching wall or dryer. Washer did have a few scratches and a small dent from the installation so it is possible it was damaged during the install. Saw too many negative reviews about noise so I sent it back and got a different manufacturer.

Beware of front-load washers
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My $800, four-year old Samsung washing machine just broke. Balance is shot. It was a good machine while it lasted. After doing research found out it's too difficult to repair. Check out youtube of all the front-load washers that break. My $1200 LG front-load only lasted four years also. No more front-loaders for me.

Save yourself the Agony
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased a front load washer two months ago and it is now broken. The machine stalls out before it gets to the spin cycle and will not complete the wash. I sent in a service ticket online which was frustrating in itself. You have to upload a RECEIPT in order to submit the ticket. However, after trying a Word doc, pdf and then trying to shrink a pdf the file was "too large" to submit. As a last ditch effort, I took a picture of my computer screen and uploaded that instead. We were contacted for an explanation of the issue and then were told a tech would follow up which he did. They determined there was no one in the area to repair the washer and that we would be issued an exchange/store credit to get a new one. However, they would need a copy of our receipt emailed to them. (Even though you can not submit a ticket without a receipt). We jumped the hoop and emailed the receipt. We then received a phone call that they have not received a receipt and have cancelled our ticket. We call again. Same response. They need a receipt. I email it again and then they give me a number to text it to, which I do. We receive a phone call that our ticket has been cancelled since no receipt was received. I call and have it out with support. He tells me..."You need to submit a receipt by email." No further discussion. He gives me a different email address. I email another receipt and it bounces back because it is a bad email address. Plus, I text it one more time. We then receive ANOTHER phone call that our exchange ticket has been cancelled again due to no receipt. Now I have uploaded, emailed to two different addresses (four times) and texted the receipt. Apparently, modern technology is not part of the Samsung culture. The support staff are barely able to communicate in English and do not care about customer service. Not sure where to go from here. I am now on hold contacting them for the 6th time by phone to probably be told that my receipt was never received. It is B.S. and we still can't wash our clothes. NEVER AGAIN!

Does not clean clothes
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Even on the heavily soiled cycle ( which takes 2 or 3 hours, even though the timer says 1:29 when it starts), clothes and towels come out with dirt and food still on them. Clothes come out still folded sometimes. Not enough water or agitation is what I believe the problem is. Wish I'd returned it when I could. Do not recommend - sorry.

Broke after four years
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The washer broke after four years of normal use. It had a lot of options I never used. We tried to fix it but nothing worked. The matching dryer has now broke as well. They both should have lasted twice as long as they did. Not impressed.

Bye Samsung
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me start by saying this washing machine is awesome, until it breaks. Purchased my washer about 10 months ago and now it wont spin anymore. Called customer support and told them what happened and sent them copies of our receipts showing when we purchased it to show it's still under warranty, but for some reason they are telling me that I purchased it on a different date making it older so the warranty is no longer valid. Not very happy with the customer service that I've got so far and definitely not going to buy anything Samsung again. Beware when buying this product.

Washer quit on first cycle
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Power shut off on first cycle with ~14 minutes remaining. Cannot open door to retrieve clothes. No assistance online or on the phone. Shame is I replaced a working washing with this one only because I needed to replace my dryer and wanted them to match. Now the hassle factor begins in returning a washer, buying and installing another washer, etc. Unreal.

Don't buy!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very, very disappointing and frustrating. We bought the matching set a little over a year ago. Love the dryer, but the washer has leaked for the last 6 months. It started small and has progressively gotten worse and worse. At this point it takes about 5 full size towels to keep the floor mostly dry while we do a load. Called Samsung and since we were just out of the one year warranty all they could do was give us the name of a repair tech...who charged us $80 to give an estimate and now says it will cost about as much to repair as it will to replace. I asked Samsung about the big "10 YEAR WARRANTY" sticker on the front of the washer and they said that only applies to the direct drive motor, which wouldn't cause a leak. Do. Not. Buy. This. Washer. VERY frustrating. We won't be purchasing Samsung products again.

Inferior design
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this washer two months ago. It starts squeaking right after the purchase. I called Samsung and they sent a contract technician but after looking at it he said Samsung would not replace the machine if the problem is not related to main "washing" function (i.e., the noise coming from front and side metal sheets rubbing each other due to vibration). I talked with BestBuy, and they were nice enough to replace with a new one (the same model). However, the second washer has exactly the same noise problem as the previous one. Compared with a LG front loading washer I owned before, the design/built is clearly inferior. This is my first Samsung and I am very disappointed and dissatisfied.

Shakes the whole house
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After purchasing this washer after reading glowing reviews and getting a recommendation from the sales people at Best Buy we were shocked when we ran the first cycle. Despite being perfectly level and on a solid surface (not the basement floor, but upper level wash room) the washer sounded like a rocket preparing for takeoff and shook the entire house. It didn't matter how much laundry we had in the tub; the washer made it impossible to have a conversation in an adjacent room and shook the dishes in our cabinets. So we returned it and tried another with the same results. (The guys at BB suggested we might have gotten a lemon.) Alas, we returned the second unit and went with a top-load Samsung. Couldn't be happier. There's just something off about this particular model.

Multiple issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.-Doors opened the "wrong" way for me. Washing machine only opens to the left. Since the washing maching in my house needs to be on the right side, i have to carry the clothes around the doors to the dryer. -MOLD. After a year or so, it started smelling so bad. Omg the mold and mildew. Smells so bad and when i called under the warranty, they said it is a known issue to Samsung, that i should try affresh. Cust svc also hinted some ppl use CLR but that it would corrode parts. Sometimes it will smell like rotten eggs. My towels smell horrible after one use - like a dirty dish rag. They said it's a build up of detergent in between the drums that causes the smell. THat and the mold that forms in the rubber liner for the door. -Inferior cleaning. I never had to use shout or anything to get stains out. Suddenly it's a necessity. I think the cycle needs more water maybe? -Too much maintenance. Why do i have to empty out a nasty filter drawer and put the machine on a self clean cycle once a month (that takes 4 hours) and wipe down the rubber liner after every use? Who has time for that????
