Front loading washer

This machine was only 6.5 years old, and I am very upset and concerned that I need to purchase a new washer to replace it. I feel it should last much longer than 6.5 years. My repairman informed me that the part that is “broken” is not available. How is that possible? I have lost all faith in LG products, and will not buy any more of their products, if this can’t be resolved.
