Loved it during that 1 year honeymoon phase for a Samsung appliance. A month or two later it randomly wouldn't turn on and just shut down mid dry cycle when I was trying to dry my clothes. Due to the machine having only a 1 year warranty, I had to bring an appliance person to check on it. They said the motherboard was shot and I needed a replacement. The repair with replacement of the motherboard cost was quoted nearly half of what I paid for this dryer. Kind of ridiculous that this machine is not on the 2 year extended warranty like some of the other Samsung appliances. This type of stuff makes me wish I had went with a different brand instead that is more reliable.

The new one is a little disappointing when compared to the old one I had. Cannot mute the control panel--must hear all the beeps every time you turn it on. Cannot save a program nor does it autosave the last used settings--the older model did it. The detergent dispenser tray has a sealed unit for the bleach section--hence it cannot be opened to be cleaned. It will eventually get moldy--this is poor design. Not much difference in the amount of noise it makes either.

It’s simple to use, install, and is extremely quiet. If you are looking for something to transform into a spaceship and fly you to Mars, well, this is not it. However, it is a basic but quality dryer.
