Good picture but Interface Could Be Better

Moving through the APPS and settings is very cumbersome and often leads to temporary lock ups, black screens or just inaccurate navigation. I like to watch this TV while I work out. I use blue tooth headphones while I do this. Though the TV says it recognizes the headphones as soon as I turn them on and I give the command to connect, they never work until multiple connects/disconnects power offs etc.....There are also issues when connecting to Smart TV APPS such Disney +, Youtube, etc....the screen will often just turn black when trying to connect resulting in me having to exit, reenter multiple times. Another weird thing is the lack of the TV indicating HDR features are active. If you sift through menus you may be able to find it's active, but there are no settings or adjustments stating anything about HDR. I have the same size Sony Bravia X800G in one of my other rooms. Usually I prefer Samsung over Sony. In this case the Sony doesn't have any of these issues and is way more polished. I know this TV is a new model and I'm hoping they fix the issues in a firmware update.

I apologize for the issues you have experienced.
To optimize the smart TV performance, please try Device Care option under the Support Menu.
Go to Settings > Support> Device Care > Start Device Care.
This service checks memory and frees up unused cached memory and closes background apps.
The issue with the Apps may be related to your network connection and quality.
We suggest you try the following:
1. Use 5G WiFi if possible
2. Try wired LAN if available
3. Try repositioning the router so there are no obstacles between your TV and the router
Please try repairing your Bluetooth headphone with your TV.
Go to Settings > Sound> Sound Output > Bluetooth Speaker List
Your TV detects HDR automatically.
While an HDR source (HDMI, Netflix, USB etc) is playing, it will display an HDR logo next to the picture mode icon of the picture mode you are currently in.

Faulty remote cover

I adjusted the brightness and it was still very dark. Finding the ECO setting under a different category greatly improved the picture. The remote cover, like every other, is supposed to slide off to install the batteries. After doing everything possible to open it, I went on line to discover multiple complaints about it. This shouldn't require an explanation. The call center did nothing to resolve the issue insisting that I open the cover and install the batteries to give them an error code. Very disappointing.

I am very sorry you are experiencing connection issues with your TV. A new firmware update has recently been released which may help with your issues. (1460.9 released on 12/7/20)
Using your TV's remote, navigate to Settings, and select Support. Select Software Update, and then select Update Now. New updates will be downloaded and installed on your TV. Updates usually take a few minutes; please do not turn off the TV until the update is complete. When the update is finished, the TV will restart automatically.
You may also want to enable automatic updates for future convenience.
Select Settings > Support > Software Update, then select Auto Update.
