4K more like 4?
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Seems like the low end models don't compare to the high end 4K Samsung. You get what you pay for and this one is NOT IT!

Too realistic
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tv was okay but I think the Ultra HD TVs are more for gaming rather than everyday TV Watching. I ended up returning this and getting the 55" Samsung HD TV Instead.

No screws
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The tv came with no screws for the stand to be assembled. Lucky I had screws from my old tv to use. Other than that I like the tv.

Great tv
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this tv on a black Friday special price of 499.Was replacing a Sony 46 inch hd tv.The colors is far superior. Took it out of box and set up on wall in 15 minutes.Do not notice any problems with motion as other reviews have stated. I am very happy with my purchase. I don't usually write reviews but just had to say how satisfied I am with purchase.

Outstanding!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went into Best Buy for a Sony 4K tv I've had my eye on for awhile. Did my research on it and read all the reviews. However when I went to purchase the item in store I browsed around and found this hidden gem. Ended up purchasing this tv with a Samsung sound system and I am amazed at how great this tv is. The picture is great and was a breeze to connect to the sound system. The lack of 4K content at the moment may lead some to stray away from going for the 4K set but I highly recommend getting it now. The up scaling still looks great and once 4K content is available you will be set. The price is right on this set and I'm completely happy with it.

Awesome upgrade !
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I waffled back and forth on what TV to buy - should I go 4K or is 1080p still a good buy? Do I go 48" or is 40" sufficient? But at the end of the day, the amazing cyber Monday deal on this particular model was too good to pass up. I'm glad I went with it. I love the picture, the colours are vibrant and the blacks deep and rich. Others are having issues with the SmartHub, but mine works like a charm. I would say the only issue I'm having is that my Blu-ray remote doesn't work with this TV so I am constantly doing the 'remote control search' any time I need to adjust volume or change the channel. Great investment!

Excellent TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this on sale for an excellent sale price, and can't be more than happier. This is an excellent size for a family room. Not too big where you have to sit extra-far away to take in the whole screen, and definitely large enough to enjoy sports, movies, PS4, etc. I read some of the reviews, and don't see any of the issues they encountered. The TV seems solidly built, has 3 HDMI ports, with one being ARC. I have a soundbar easily run through it, with excellent sound to watch Netflix and other apps through. All apps are responsive, and I haven't had any fading, problems, or other issues to speak of. First thing I did was go to the settings and force the update to get it up to the current version of the TV. Not one single issue to speak of. For what I paid, the top brand in television right now, and all other features to speak of, this makes me extremely happy to know the TV will satisfy me for years to come.

I never write reviews....
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I never write reviews, but I wanted to say how very impressed I am with this Samsung 48" 4K TV. I bought this TV January 28, 2016. I do not have the special 4k box from Comcast, but the upscaling is still noticeably better than 1080p. I was deciding between a Samsung 1080p 50" and a 1080p 55" when I saw that another retailer had a special running on this Samsung 48" 4k. I printed out the online info and took it to my local Best Buy for help making my decision, explaining that I was not willing to pay extra on my monthly cable or Netflix bills to get 4K. The sales person was very helpful and not pushy and told me I would be happy even with the upscaling to 4K. He answered all of my questions including ones about the dual core processor in the 1080 vs the quad core in the 4K. My other smart TVs in my house tend to buffer when streaming or throw me out completely even though I have 75 mbps internet speed. He said this one would upscale to a much better picture quality and be more responsive, so I chose to go with the 2" smaller screen size but 4K. I am thrilled that I did. The smart TV is fast and responsive. It does not take forever to buffer or throw me out. This TV's picture and sound quality is awesome. It has so many other features including automatic picture adjustment according to the lighting in the room, and a full web browser. I can check my email right on the TV. The picture quality is bright, brilliant, detailed and life like! I love love love this TV! And better yet, Best Buy price matched the other retailers special price so I saved an additional $150 off Best Buy's sale price and also got 12 month interest free!!! I could not be happier with my purchase. If I HAD to try to find something to say that could make the TV better it would be for Samsung to include a motion mouse pointer type remote, but then I am sure they would not be able to offer it in my price range. Now if they could make one that I could purchase separately, I would probably buy one. So for the price, it is perfect! So if you are on the fence.... the 48" 4k is a great TV . FYI: I sit approximately 8 feet from my TV and I can see the difference. I am writing this review and comparing to my previous TV that I had in the same room which was a 40" 1080p Samsung Smart TV that I moved into a newly finished room in my basement. I really liked that TV also, but the new 4k is so much better.

Good TV for the price after replaced, not support
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this TV on sale for $599, I think this is the best deal for a 4k 48” brand name TV, 2 stars only because the first TV I received had an outdated firmware and I was not able to install Netflix, Amazon Prime and other apps even after I upgraded the firmware as recommended by Samsung online, do not bother to call Samsung support this is the worst manufacturer customer support (tried to contact it 2 times by phone and 1 by email) they never bothered to contact me back, funny thing few days later I received a survey email about my claim, I also went to talk in person with Samsung “specialist” in Best Buy Aventura, FL store and the guy gave me a bad attitude stating that I would need to wait for a while because he was busy so I escalated to the manager and he nicely advised me to replace the TV, I heard Samsung “specialist” tell the manager that he never hear about this issue that it is even posted on Samsung TV model support webpage, few days later the TV took the upgrade by itself and finished installing the apps but I did not want to take the risk with a TV that needed several days to update some apps and replaced it, after I replaced the TV the second one came with the latest firmware and I did not have any issue. Sony equivalent TV was $799 so I did not want to spend the $200 extra, with the same price I would have purchased the Sony I’m very disappointed with Samsung technical support

Low end 4k, still a nice TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I picked this up Cyber Monday after purchasing a standard 48" Samsung 1080 LED TV and having some issues with the picture. Not only was the picture too grainy for me (upgrading from a CCFL Samsung 1080 set), but there were also only 2 inputs. I returned it and was pleased with a no hassle BB return. Initially I wasn't happy with this TV, especially the 120 motion rate, which made me close to nauseated when watching for extended periods. However, after finding a few setup reviews of other Samsung TV's from CNET online, I was able to fine tune the picture for what I consider a pretty level appearance. I achieved this by turning several of the advanced settings off, and it's a night and day difference. I still have the option to turn the "soap opera" look back on when watching 4k content or watching a Blu-Ray on my up-converting player. Be aware that the different filters unlock different color and picture editing options. At first I thought the TV was cheap and I didn't have full access to menus, but after watching some setup videos, I learned that different settings unlock with different filters, Dynamic, Movie, Natural. Etc.. To really access all of the good stuff you need to be in the Movie filter mode. Sound is good, and adjusts well. There are some voice enhancing options for those who require more volume because of hearing issues, and a full EQ for tuning adjustments. The apps work fine for me, something complained about in past reviews. I was able to connect quickly to my wireless router, and downloaded the updated software which took about 5-7 minutes. The remote is somewhat lacking, a little smaller and cheaper then previous Samsung sets, but I don't mind, I use my satellite remote for everything anyway. 1080 HD channels, and SD channels all perform well, with some minor distortion on certain advertisements or an occasional older non digital show. It is a better picture than my previous model which satisfies me. Blu-Ray looks fantastic, and I don't have any issues with image blur. Haven't tried it with gaming, but it has a game mode that reduces input lag tremendously according to the manual. The screen viewing area is a little weak, unless your pretty close to centered up with it, it's going to be somewhat washed out. This is something that the new curved TV's address well, if your worried about viewing from a steep angle (50* plus) from the center, I'd think about that option. Bottom line, as stated, you get what you pay for. This TV is a good upgrade if your still utilizing a non LED version or haven't upgraded in a while. It has some of tomorrow's technology today, and is able to do what most people will expect of it. Many picture editing options allow most people to fine tune it for their needs. For the discounted price it's being offered at, I think it's worth it. I am pleased with my purchase. I own 3 other Samsung HDTV's, I always have good luck with them, so I have no reason to think I won't with this as well.

Now THIS is 4K TV worth the cost of admission.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best Buy, at the time of this writing, has a bit of a secret sale going on for this that brings the TV into the pricing territory of 1080p sets, for what is genuinely a pretty great looking panel. Colors are good, black levels are decent, viewing angles are respectable, and the amount of judder isn't bad at all (especially after turning auto motion plus off). All in all, I am BLOWN AWAY by the value for the money you get with this TV at it's current price point, of just under $500.

Great 4K Quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great 4K Tv for the price. Bought it on Black Friday 2015. Also, when you add a Pioneer Elite A/V 4K pass through Audio receiver ; the sound and picture quality is out of this world! Also, run the Audioquest Vodka HDMI Cables and you will get the clearest, crisp, picture and sound that will make you want to go INSANE! I recommend this TV to anyone who is really interested in building a great mid size 4K HT System.

Excellent Value + Hearing Impaired "Friendly"
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With our living room revamp with new furniture our 32" TV was just not going to cut it anymore so did some research and found this Samsung 48" Class LED - 2160p - Smart - 4K Ultra HC TV at Best Buy! Went into the store and it was a 'no brainer" as the clarity, screen size and the "future" 4K abilities AND a great price matched our needs! Just one detail needed to be answered: could we hook up a wireless headphone for my very-hard-of hearing mom. Well, the spec's didn't list a headphone jack so I asked the manager of the department to verify and he DID - he climbed on a ladder and took a 'iPhone pic" of the back of the set and there indeed was a headphone output! SOLD Took it home - set it up easily actually "very easily" in less than an hour and enjoyed it for the rest of the evening with mom being able to listen along with us! I do not write reviews very often but highly recommend this TV!
