This is a very good set, the smart features are easy to navigate and the picture is great. I had to update the firmware, I noticed some lip syncing issues, but it seems to disappear after the update. Overall I would recommend this set.

We picked up this TV 2 days ago and even thought it has a beautiful picture it refuses to connect to Netflix and sometimes not even the Internet. After reading the other reviews for this TV it seems clear to me that this TV is a lemon. I haven't tried plugging directly into the router but wanted to use it with wifi anyway. After spending a weekend on the phone with xfinity and Netflix, we have exchanged it for the 50" model.....and believe it or not...the 50" model powered right up, connected to the Internet and plays Netflix and Amazon instant video flawlessly.

    Nothing but trouble

When I first hooked up the TV I was unable to use the smart features. For some reason they started working for about one day and then quit working again. Called support and was told that the problem is probably with my internet provider. The internet provider checked the system and found that I had a very strong signal by the tv. I then tried a different router, no success. Then I added a signal enhancer, no success. I called Samsun today and told them all of the steps I had gone through and that my previous TV had connected to wi-fi with no problem. The rep then told me that an update had just come out on this model. Because I can not connect the TV to wi-fi, the only way to get the update is for Samsung to send me a Flash Drive. They will only send it snail mail, about one week. I requested overnight service and was told Samsung only ships snail mail. I guess someone in management missed the educational session on customer service. The manager of the Best Buy where I purchased the product (Bangor ME) was unaware of the update. That should be communication 101 between Samsung and Best Buy. When the manager called me back he told me he had ordered three flash drive for the sets he had in inventory and was told they would only mail them to him. The picture quality is super.

Great TV at this price point. QNAP Turbo NAS native DLNA works and then it don't (this is a QNAP issue) One thing I don't get is why make such a lovely TV and encase it in such cheap plastic that turning it on and heating it up it snap crackles and pops, turning it off does the same thing as it's cooling off , It's even stated in the user manual

    Terrible TV

I have to say that I was quite surprised how bad this tv actually was. I got it home and connected to the internet, did the firmware updates, and connected to Netflix. Set up process was easy and straight forward. I actually think the software is easy to use unlike some of the other poor reviews. For starters the Eco settings (on by default) are completely stupid and make the TV dark by default. This setting needed to be turned off at the start. That setting now turned off all picture modes except Dynamic were still dull and dark and make the TV virtually unusable even when tweaking the setting individually to refine. "auto motion plus" makes every thing on TV look like it was shot in "Soap Opera" footage and also needed to be turned off. The TV in Dyanmic with this setting off make the tv slightly more usable, but without the filters there is a "snowy" effect even in HD. The picture is very glitchy, blurry, and freezes especially from going from black screen to color or fast action. Perhaps my TV was defective or perhaps it is an EPIC failure by Samsung. Whatever happened here I wouldn't recommend this TV to anyone that doesn't need a glorified radio. It is important to note that Netflix 4K ultra video and animated shows were breathtaking and amazing. It should also be noted that I have 2 other Samsung LED LCD TV's #non 4k# that are also amazing. Not sure what happened here but everything non 4k or animated was practically unwatchable and not just bad.

    Buyer Beware

When we bought this tv it was new and no reviews were posted. Highly dissappointed in this TV the only thing good is the picture quality. The smart part is about as smart as a box of rocks. Netflix does not work. You'll spend hours on phone with Samsung and Netflix.....it won't be resolved anytime soon. The remote doesn't even light up when in use like even cheaper samsung models and the competition, we have both.So our newest tv has the worst remote. Also the USB reader won't read a hard drive that the LG tv reads, and all our computers reads. It reads other usb media. Very poor Marketing to launch a tv with out making sure what they advertise on the box works.....

      Teej,

We don't like reading that you had a disappointing experience with your television, and we certainly regret that your out-of-box experience wasn't ideal. Your voice has been heard, and we will be bringing up your comments with the appropriate department.

The Netflix issue was addressed, and has been resolved with the latest firmware update (1107.9) which can be downloaded directly to the TV, and streaming and connecting to the App is working.

As far as the drive, we can't determine why it would work with other televisions and not this model. We do support many codec and video types, and many HDD drives will work (with a separate power source) in the USB port marked "HDD". That said, not all devices will be compatible. We can't determine why it might not be working without more information, but we do offer drive support for MSC class (thumbdrives) and HDD drives.

I realize this is little consolation in your situation, but we did want you to know that your review is important, and we are listening.

Thanks for your review - we do read them, and we hope we can earn your business in the future.

      --Mr. S Samsung

I currently own this tv and will be bringing it back today! I have 45 days to return it and I'm 38 days in. I have done everything humanly possible to lessen the jitter and blur of this tv picture. It happens during any type of scene, not just fast moving. I did a ton of research since purchasing it and found that the issue is that no cable provider including my own, has the appropriate signal to match the capability of the tv. It is the worst picture I've ever had and the most expensive. I'm sure the technology will eventually catch up but I'm not going to aggravate myself while waiting. I purchased this from the Magnolia portion of the store, 2nd item purchased from there and the 2nd time I've been unhappy with a product. Don't buy this tv unless you only plan on watching 4K DVDs, which by the way, there's not very many yet.

    40" WAS PERFECT 48" NOT

I have purchased 2 of this model, one 40" one 48". The 40 works perfectly. The 48 is another story. When I opened the box I smelled a burnt smell. I work with control boards and thought this is not good, I have smelled this before. Hooked up tv and there is a darker portion of the screen on the left 40%. Also there is a white bleeding on the left of the screen that happens when there is color change on that side. I write this not to bash the tv but let buyers know. my 40 inch works great, the 48 is going back. I will give Sony a try for the 48 inch so I dont have all my eggs in one basket.. I can't recommend based on a 50% ratio of working tv,s

After four days of constant restarting/resetting and endless calls to Samsung, I'm giving up and returning this tv very disappointed. I purchased two Samsungs on the same day from two stores. One high end newer model and one older that was under $200 and guess which one is working beautifully? The older and cheaper! The expensive one is 15 ft from the router and the other is all the way in the basement but still it gets a strong signal and all the apps stream flawlessly while the 48" 4K Ultra can't stay hooked up for half a movie. Mine is also crooked despite carefully setting up and resetting to adjust. Get an older version until they work out the kinks. I know I am.

Purchased same model for girlfriend Monday and attempted to set it up today, lo' and behold, it wont connect to Netflix.....started setup at 11 a.m, unresolved end time 7:45pm....was on the phone with 4 different tech support reps with the thickest foreign accents, terrible phone lines and working in a call center with about a 1000 co workers judging by the background noise on their side of the phone. After being on the phone for Tech rep #3 and giving my phone number a 100x, after 1.5 hrs i was disconnected. Tech Rep #4, 1 hr 20 minutes i was told if problems persist 24-48 hrs that i am to call back. They have techs investigating problem and should have a answer by then. Netflix answer, it is a 2015 model and Samsung are putting sets on the market and not updating its equipment

I bought this tv almost 2 months ago and it still won't connect to the Internet. I don't have cable and use Apple TV with it so I don't miss the smart features too much. TV is light and I mounted it to the wall myself.
