We've bought several Samsung washers and dryers over the past ten years or so. They work well, seem to be pretty reliable and are priced right for the options they come with.

It should default to cold water wash as most laundry is washed in cold water to save energy. I do multiple loads of colored and have to remember each time to change the water setting and only do one load of whites each week which is the only load that is washed on a hot setting.
