A big washer

This washer does not have that problem and has a large drum that you could fit blankets and sheets together at the same time.

It should default to cold water wash as most laundry is washed in cold water to save energy. I do multiple loads of colored and have to remember each time to change the water setting and only do one load of whites each week which is the only load that is washed on a hot setting.
