It's basically a top load washer with no agitator that just spins your clothes into each other. Because it uses virtually no water, my clothes weren't even getting wet so after a year of frustration, I took a chance and bought this one in hopes that it performed better. It did not. It's the same washing machine I bought a year ago with a stick in the middle. No difference. It makes the same impeller motions, it uses the same half inch of water, and parts of my clothes don't even get wet. The agitator is a joke and doesn't agitate anything. It makes the same motions, takes the same time, and has the same quality clean as an impeller, which means it's inconsistent and cloths are still not getting wet, let alone cleaned. What irritates me the most is that Samsung makes big on the whole agitator thing in its marketing materials for this machine. It literally wouldn't change anything if the agitator weren't there. Trust me, I own the non agitator version too. It's the same noise, the same motion, the same everything. When you use an impeller washer, there's a plate on the bottom of the machine that rotates one direction and the drum rotates the other way. It uses this motion to swoosh the water around. With an agitator, the agitator is supposed to be the driving force that cleans your clothes. This washer with the agitator, it works the exact same way and is literally 0% more effective at getting my dry clothes to the bottom where the tiny puddle of water is. The agitator doesn't agitate, it just gently rotates for 2 hours. The same clothes are on top from the start of the wash to the end of it. Samsung, this is not an agitator washer. It does not operate or perform like one. It's an impeller washer with a stick in the middle and it's just as bad as the impeller one with no notable difference in performance. I wanted an agitator that agitates, not one that just spins lightly. I need my clothes clean, not lightly caressed. Do not recommend. If you want a real agitator that actually agitates, you want a different washer.
