Spent a few weeks researching. this TV was my choice. amazing picture and the internet is a snap to use. 799 dollars. set up was a SNAP. this was to replace a 8 year old samsung. so the picture is so much better..but the sound is not as good. its ok on sound.but no doubt i will be picking up a sound bar. from what i understand NO tvs nowadays that are this thin create good sound. marginal at best. So in the end this tv will run me 1000 with the sound bar....but its the most current SUHD technology which should run me another 7 or 8 years. i went to the you tube app on the tv and looked up true 4k ultra hd content...the picture looked as good as it did in the store. so even with the sound being not quite as good as my 8 year old samsung, i highly recommend this tv...the picture is amazing and its a snap to set up.

    Not what I expected..

I've never owned a Samsung TV, and never expected to. The good pricing and great reviews on this one however, spurred me to make this purchase 2 weeks ago. Everyone raves about the picture and supposedly this TV is one of the best for minimal motion blur. I was concerned tho with it being "motionsense 120" which means 60hz refresh when I had been using a 240 Hz TV, but I thought I would give it a try, I had never noticed motion blur before, didn't expect it to be an issue. After hooking up the TV and starting to flip thru channels and try out my xbox one, the most prominent feature of this TV was the badly distracting motion blur. I had never noticed this on any other TV's I have owned, but there it was loud and clear. Also all of the picture presets are horrendous. Either maximum brightness and contrast that causes horrible picture, or so washed out pictures such as on "movie" that it was laughable. I have set this TV up using after market calibrations and lots of adjusting and it has helped a lot, but still, it has flaws that stand out and are distracting. I've never had a TV like that before, with minor tweaking they've always been excellent. Turning on game mode will fix the motion blur, but then you have reduced options for picture tuning. During steady scenes without much movement, I have managed to get the picture to look great most of the time. I'll be thinking to myself "ok, there we go this is good" and then a scene later there will be strange blobbish coloring in the blacks or something that completely throws it off. It is tough to get a good balance without the dark colors being too dark, or the bright colors being washed out, there just seems to be no sweet spot of good picture on this TV. I believe the fact that it does not have 24p support is an issue, so it gets visible judder whie viewing movies and I think that is a source of a lot of my frustration with it. Also I have had to unplug the TV and plug it back up twice because the picture just quit working. Luckily unplugging and waiting a few minutes has fixed it both times so far. Really considering calling about swapping it for something a step up. If your an average person who just wants a 4k tv, you might love this one, but, if your used to nice high end TV's and will notice all the details, then I don't suggest this one. Maybe I just got a bad one(?) most people seem to love it.. I just can seem to be satisfied by it. (Also, I used the settings from rtings.com to set up the picture.)

The TV seems to be a little on the darker side as far as the picture goes, especially from any side view. I was expecting a cleare, sharper picture.

I processed Samsung - 50" Class (49.5" Diag.) - LED - 2160p - Smart - 4K Ultra HD TV and i payed for 2 year protection plan Geek Squad from Best Buy.In the mean time that the TV was under the warranty in the screen appeared a black dot and after some days vertical multicolored lines.I notified the team of Geek Squad immediately and the specialist that come home didn't identified any exterior physical damage ,absolutely nothing, that it's true.Only by the phone another technician said maybe it's a crack MAYBE ????????The answer from Geek Squad is we do not cover .There was in fact no physical damage to the device and geek squad was very unhelpful.I spent money for coverage and i got nothing out of it. A complete waste of my time and money.I would discourage everyone from purchasing protection under geek squad!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Superior to HDTV

After making some adjustments to the picture, my wife and I agree that the picture quality is far superior to HDTV. Something that really impressed me with this TV was the speaker quality. I have never had an LEDTV with such clear and powerful sound. Yes, the sound could still be better, but I've owned 2 LCDTVs (Norcent and Samsung) and 4LEDTVs (all Samsungs)- this one outperforms any of these. I will only purchase 4k TVs from now on for sure. But not just any 4k, the 7 series is the way to go. The smart features are also a big plus. You can even plug a mouse into the TV's USB port. I haven't tried it, but I bet a wireless keyboard could be used also.

Bought TV on sale for $799 (reduced $500) . Set TV up, no picture, contacted Support and after many hours on the phone it was determined that a 1/4" inch crack behind molding on picture screen was the cause. Per SAMSUNG and BEST BUY warranty was null & void. Their authorized repair center quoted $1200 for repair of this new unused item. Needless to say, BEST BUY would not allow a store credit. Threw the TV onto trash heap & bought another TV elsewhere with larger picture & at better price. I will think more than twice before making such a purchase with Best Buy again.

I had an old Samsung that I never had an issue with. But I decided to buy a new 4K Smart TV and what a mistake this was. I have had noting but trouble this piece of junk! The sound cuts in and out all the time. The Smart hub constantly locks up and disconnects. The TV shuts off by it self. Anynet causes all sorts of problem with remotes and Apps working. I bought the TV in 2016 but is was built in 2015 so Samsung is not supporting the Youtube TV App on the first 4K Smart TV's. I will never buy another Samsung again!!!

    My Best TV Ever

I originally had a Sony 50" projection tv and after 10 years buying a bulb and sony doesn't make bulbs for that model anymore and trying to find who makes them. Sony gave me a few retailers who would but no. I purchased a phillip bulb and had spent several days trying to get that bulb in and no luck. So my husband and I decided to purchase a television without a bulb and try to get a black friday sale. I purchased a beautiful samsung 50: 4k UHD and its breath taking and of course my electronic equipment doesn't support it but I love the smart features and being connected to the internet gives me the opportunity to have music and etc. The price was affordable and the tv is the bomb. I am still learning and exploring.

TV turns off at arbitrary times. Was fine the first week, then started shutting off. Research kept referencing the assorted control options, but after going through all of those and verifying it wasn't the issue; further research revealed that it's.a known problem of Samsung TVs. By then, it was beyond the short return window allowed at Best Buy. Would not recommend Samsung TV and will not buy this brand again.

    Great TV and Great Price!

This TV came as a pretty big upgrade from my 42" Sharp Aquos LCD that I bought back in 2007 so not being able to compare it to too many other 4K smart TVs, may not be the best review. First of all Best Buy had very competitive pricing at the time so it was smart choice to go with them. PS, Avatar looks freaking amazing on this TV! Pros: -Great picture quality, colors, especially up-scaling from 1080 -Great features, lots of apps to download, work awesome with my NAS via DLNA, USB 3.0 flash drives work great, wireless functionality is a breeze and offers 802.11ac! Cons: -Lack of 4K content?? Not really this TVs problem -I've had the TV reboot itself a couple of times when accessing some of it's functions but never really interfered with its use. -Wired ethernet interface is only 100Mbps link but the 802.11ac kind of makes up for it. -MUST use game mode when playing on consoles, it will decrease the saturation which sucks but online FPS games are completely playable while game mode is on. Remember to remove it for movies though!
