Turns out the saying "you get what you pay for" definitely applies here. The picture is super grainy no matter what we do with it & words are blurry & not crisp at all. I'm grateful to have a TV since my other one broke, but I'm extremely disappointed with this TV, especially after all my research & relying on it's reviews.

Your TU8000 TV will upscale as best as possible any content sent to it. The closer your content is to 4K, the better the image will look on the screen.
Here are some tips to help improve the picture clarity:
1. HDMI cables are recommended for optimal HD viewing.
2. If you have an analog cable box or satellite box, upgrade to a digital cable box or satellite box.
3. Change the output resolution of your devices, such as digital broadcast receiver, IPTV, and
set-top box to UHD or HD.
4. Expand the reception range of the corresponding HDMI input signal in Input Signal Plus.

The red light came on and off, but the screen remained black. I searched the internet and discovered that apparently many Samsung customers are having the same issue. Many had ossible solutions. None worked for my TV. I called Geek Squad and the referred me to Samsung Customer Support. Customer support had me do a few routine tasks with no result. They said I'd have to have their service center repair it. I am waiting for that call. I had a 50 inch LG TV that i used more than 12 hours a day. It lasted more tha five years. When it failed, i bought this TV. I thought a TV should last more than five years. I guess i was lucky with the LG TV. I do not recommend people buying Samsung TVs.
