It had some issues connecting with the Samsung network during set up. I had to hotspot my phone and complete the setup via my phone. It still goes in and out of network connection with her existing wifi. Not exactly sure what the issue is.

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung TU8000 TV and for your review. I am very sorry you are experiencing WiFi connection issues. A recent firmware update is available which may help improve your connection. (1460.9 released on 12/7/20)
Using your TV's remote, navigate to Settings, and select Support. Select Software Update, and then select Update Now. New updates will be downloaded and installed on your TV. Updates usually take a few minutes; please do not turn off the TV until the update is complete. When the update is finished, the TV will restart automatically.
You may also want to enable automatic updates for future convenience.
Select Settings > Support > Software Update, then select Auto Update.

Gave that to a family member and bought the same only an 8 series to replace it. Don't like it as much. According to the specs they should look the same but apparently the 8 series is edge lit and the 7 is back lit. With the 7 there is a backlight adjustment, with the 8 there is no adjustment, just the different modes, brightness and contrast setting I've played with and still get get as good a picture as the 7. I'm contemplating returning it and getting the 7 again which is cheaper or possibly trying another competitive brand altogether.
