    I bought a 50" 4K UHD 7 series last year, loved it. Gave that to a family member and bought the same only an 8 series to replace it. Don't like it as much. According to the specs they should look the same but apparently the 8 series is edge lit and the 7 is back lit. With the 7 there is a backlight adjustment, with the 8 there is no adjustment, just the different modes, brightness and contrast setting I've played with and still get get as good a picture as the 7. I'm contemplating returning it and getting the 7 again which is cheaper or possibly trying another competitive brand altogether.
