I had to pull the plug to shut the TV off. This is a known capacitor and motherboad problem which Samsung knows but has not fixed.

Buy if you like extremely bright televisions

If you like Samsung TVs this will not bother you and is a great buy otherwise. The smart tv menu is fun to go through and very easy to set up.

The NU7100 comes with various picture mode, allowing users to adjust settings to their liking.
Our typical store mode is showing the “dynamic” picture mode which is the brightest among all modes. You may want to try Standard mode or Movie mode at home environment for the everyday viewing experience.

I wasn't looking for anything extravagant, just a new tv to fill the empty space in my wall unit. At the bestbuy show room, this looked to have the brightest, cleanest picture of all of the cheaper TVs displayed, and the measurement seemed just right to fill the space. But it didn't. Though I measured it in the store, it looked puny and sad in the space. Once turned on, the screen was blindingly bright, TOO, TOO bright. Samsungs apparently are built with little lightbulbs behind the screen to attempt to mimic a really sharp picture, but the brightness was too much. And yes, I attempted to adjust the brightness and the like, but really, I just wanted a tv to watch occasionally, and enjoy doing so, but this was going to be annoying to watch.
