    Screen failure!

I bought this Samsung TV a little less than 2 years ago and the screen already has an issue! One day it started to get a horizontal black shadow towards the center of the TV. After talking with Samsung customer service and getting advice nothing helped. I followed one of their updates and nothing. A day later the entire right side of the screen had turned almost black. While it is like a shadow it is unbelievable that such a "high quality product" would do this. I also realized that this is something that is common and happens to many Samsung UHD TV owners. I'm very disappointed, especially because I realized that it has happened to many other customers and they usually have to pay (sometimes more than it is worth) to get this problem fixed.

The TV was an easy setup with a Samsung Phone using the Smart Things app. The remote is pretty small, which is hard to get used to considering my old Samsung remote is twice the size and easier to maneuver. Luckily I can use the old one just as easily. No extra adapting. It just turned it on and did everything. The picture is pretty good considering but I almost decided to take it back until I reset the color settings. (Mine are: Picture Mode: Natural, Expert Settings: Sharpness 9, Color 17). Otherwise, out of the box the color seemed too strong and red. Sometimes people look pasty. The picture to me seems like a big screen version of how it looks on your average laptop nowadays. Pretty good compared to older TVs. When people are moving fast you sometimes see some drag but it really isn't noticeable to the point where it will bother you, but I definitely didn't notice that on my old Samsung big screen. The picture is optimal from 5 feet away in front of it. The picture fades from side angles or if you walk towards the front of the screen. Also something I didn't have with the old one. Why I kept it: Once I got the picture adjusted and sat in my recliner, it's pretty sweet. If you watch the news the anchors look like they are right in front of you. The smart tv controls are pretty easy to set up although you won't get every channel you are looking for, but you get most of what you want (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, most major networks and a weather channel). The fast forward, reverse, stop, pause, play buttons are on the bottom of the new remote and are tiny. Only a five year old could use that comfortably. The home screen pops up as soon as you turn on the TV and you have to hit exit right away or it stays on for a little bit--kinda annoying but you get used to it. The outputs are pretty easy to navigate back and forth from, and if you have an outdoor antenna the channels are easy to look at and clear as a bell. The stand was tricky to figure out at first but there is no wiggle room. Check out the dimensions on the site to make sure you have the right width to set it on if you aren't wall mounting it. I barely made it. But so far so good. It's a keeper.

TV worked fine for a bit more than 2 years and then a giant vertical shadow showed up. Upon searching the web about the issue, apparently a ton of Samsung TVs suffer from this (various models and sizes). Nothing you can do about it, accept pay for it to be fixed on your own dime. Last Samsung TV I ever purchase.

I ended up buying this as my first ever Black Friday deal online and itd perfect! Its primarily used as a gaming TV so the color, resolution, and frame rate is fantastic! The setup was simple & super entertaining, its lightweight & very slim so its fits phenomenally on the entertainment center & makes it to where we have room around the TV as well. All in all its a beyond perfect 4k smart TV :)

Crystal clear picture, amazing resolution and some amazing features. I upgraded from a Panasonic plasma from 2010 and the difference is like night and day. Very light, and excellent controls. Beautiful color and the HDR looks amazing on the Xbox.

    Great mid-level 4K TV

My fiancé and I had been looking into upgrading our TV to a 4K for awhile, and while initially overwhelmed by just how complicated the variety of 4K technology can get, after a large amount of research and amazing help from multiple Best Buy employees, we settled on this television as the best fit for us in our price range. One of the things we learned was the deceptive nature of the 4K manufacturers and how they're allowed to label their products. HDR is an important factor, and most lower price 4k tvs say they have this feature, when in fact they are only something called "HDR Compatible", which is not the same thing (essentially it can read and play HDR content, but it cannot actually display an HDR image). Beyond that though, we found that there's an even bigger spectrum of HDR beyond that, which is where this TV comes into play. While it's not the told of the line Ultra Premium HDR (or whatever the buzz words are), it is a true HDR tv, albeit the base level. The way we looked at it, there's always gonna be a bigger fish, television technology is constantly progressing, and even the told end models we looked at now will be outdated by the next thing that comes along 6 months from now. So for what are needs are in the moment, with our current budget, this television gave us exactly what we were looking for-- a large screen that fit our living room space, with a killer 4K HDR picture to heighten our home entertainment experience (we purchased a 4K UHD Blu-ray Player and the first season of Westworld with the television as well, and were blown away watching for the first time last night). All in all, I highly recommend this to anyone who's looking to upgrade to 4K without going too cheap or dropping the big bucks for the top of the line.

Quick, easy setup. Menu is simple to use. Remote is cluttered, you don't get the "One remote". Picture is as expected for 4K, sound is loud, use the "amplyfied" setting to have voice clarity with good background sound. Auto dim is an issue, even when off TV still dims on its own sometimes, dependant on the picture on screen, but its not frequent enough yet. Another solid TV from Samsung you will enjoy!

Bought this just to upgrade from a 32" TV that was getting smaller & smaller! I got this model specifically because of a sale. In my area we really don't have a lot of 4K streaming, and we rarely buy blu-rays for viewing, so the 4K is probably overkill for us, but I figured I might as well have the newer technology for the price I got. I have historically bought Samsung TVs and been very pleased with their picture compared to other brands, so I stuck with Samsung this time too. In viewing this TV I feel like the picture is sharp but I seem to notice more of a "motion blur" at times (I'll call it for lack of a better word) with this larger model TV than I've noticed with my smaller 1080P LED models. We haven't had it that long, so maybe that's just something I have to adjust to because of the larger size, or maybe it's the resolution of whatever I'm viewing, that isn't in 4K or possibly not even in HD (cable in my area can be very poor at times). Otherwise, the picture is great, and the sound is decent, but I'm not too picky about TV sound since I use a surround sound system too. I've found there aren't nearly as many ways to adjust picture/color on this model as on some of my older models, but some of my older models were Magnolia models, so that probably accounts for the difference. I do like the smart TV interface on this TV much better than on my older models. My only real gripe would be the legs, which seem awful flimsy for such a large TV. I think I know why manufacturers have gone to this style legs (I'm guessing it's so speaker bars and/or blu-ray players or whatever will more easily fit up underneath the TV's frame), but I feel like it gives the TV room to tip more than the solid center square bases of prior generations. All in all, I think this will be a good addition to the house, though, and it was probably worth the (sale) price!
