    Backlight issues

    I bought this back in October and it was working fine until now. The issue seems to be with the backlight as even though the screen is black, you can still see some of the picture if yoy shine a flashlight over the screen. Do not recommend.

      First, there are quite a few Settings you can adjust:

      Go to Home > Settings > Picture > Picture Mode and select the mode that best fits your usage:
      1) Standard: Default mode suitable for general viewing environments.
      2) Natural: Reduces eye strain for a comfortable viewing experience.
      3) Movie: Most suitable for watching TV or movies in a dark room.
      4) Dynamic: Makes the picture brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments.

      You can also go to Settings > Picture > Expert Settings and configure the image settings to your taste with additional functions.

      Additionally, there are several sound settings you can adjust to suit your personal sound preferences. Change the Sound Mode by going to Settings > Sound > Sound Mode.

      You can also customize the sound with Expert Settings by going to Settings > Sound > Expert Settings.

      If you continue to hear an echo or have sound issues, I recommend you run a Sound Test under Support > Self Diagnosis > Start Sound Test.

    We bought this tv in 2023 on a Black Friday deal and what they failed to let us know, is that it is from 2019. I watched the video and it talked about Bixby (voice activation). I tried to install that but could not. When I called, they said “Oh, we did not have that feature on the older TV’s. It’s not up to date so don’t waste your money.

      The TU690T does not have voice assistants built in. However, they do work with Alexa and Google Assistant. You can connect them to your existing Alexa and Google Assistant devices to ask them to turn on your TV, change channels, control volume, and more.

      When stepping up to the CU8000, you will gain built-in voice assistants (Amazon Alexa, Bixby, Google Assistant) and a dedicated voice assistant button on your remote for a much wider list of commands such as weather, music, and getting questions answered with your voice.

    Best Buy delivery service sucks!

    Best Buy service sucks. The TV was delivered broken. And what a pain it was to return it back! No consistent answer. Agents are not properly trained. no consistent answers. they will ask you to return even though they delivered broken product. no communication for pick up. I returned the product so no idea about its quality. Never use bestbuy's shipping service!

    Please do not buy this TV. I bought this television in April 2022 and within 18 months, it stopped working. It barely turns on unless I repeatedly mash the power button. Sometimes it shuts off completely in the middle of watching a show.

    Crap instructions

    TV specifications states voice works with Alexa however it does not. Called customer service & they were no help & impossible to understand English was definitely not their first language. I will return this TV ASSP!

Please know the TU690T TV does not have a voice assistant built-in, but you can control the device through an existing standalone voice assistant such as Alexa or Google Assistant. To do so, please follow the below instructions:

      1. Download the Smartthings App on your Android or Apple device and log in with the same account that you are signed into on your Samsung TV.
      2. On the app, you will need to add your TV as a device if you have not already done so.
      3. Using the Amazon Alexa app on your Android or Apple device, connect the app to Smartthings, which should be under Devices> Your Smart Home Skills. Follow the prompts to sign in to your Samsung Account and enable the device.

      After following the prompts, you should be connected and can now control your Samsung TV with your device!

    TV doesn't last even two years!!

    WORST TV ever. I bought one for myself, and it was beautiful at first. Bought a second one for my in laws. Within a year and a half both tvs stopped working, weren't under warranty and cost more than the tv itself to get fixed. What a waste of $$.
