    The Worst TV I've Owned: Poor Response Time

    The only good thing about this tv is that Samsung makes the setup process easy and seamless for Samsung Android phone owners. That's where the positive aspects end. I've never owned a tv with such a horrific response time before. When you click a button on the remote, it can take the tv anywhere from 5-20+ seconds to respond. That's no exaggeration. Then once the tv understands the command given to it, it takes the apps an additional 10+ seconds to open and respond. No, it's not my Internet connection. I have an Insignia tv in the other room that cost half the price of this Samsung, and it responds instantly every single time. Now I have to figure out how to return the worst tv ever when I don't have a vehicle that it can fit in. Never again!

      First, to ensure performance is fully optimized, please make sure your TV is running the latest firmware. To do so, go to Settings> Support> Software Update. You can easily update from there if necessary.

      Next, I recommend utilizing the self-diagnostic tool, which checks memory, frees unused cached memory, and closes background apps. Go to Settings > Support > Device Care > Start Device Care.

    The samsung 50” is a good tv for a small room in my basement, picture is decent enough, not that high end samsung but it serves the purpose

    It's not a bad tv, pretty good for the price, but I do have issues with connection sometimes. Occasionally it'll disconnect and it takes a few mins to reconnect. Overall pretty good though

    For the price it isnt too bad. I bought the 50”. It was one of the few tv sizes that are direct lit vs edge lit. Picture is decent. Features are decent. Only 2 things I don’t like is the internet browser stinks. When I use WeatherStar 4000 on it, it freezes 3 minutes into playing and makes my tv freeze altogether. My older Samsung didn’t have Tizen idk if that’s the reason but my older tv ran my WeatherStar with no issues. I also don’t like the lag of response when using my remote to use apps and menus. Everything seems delayed. I factory reset did all the updates and it still runs like junk. Don’t like it but it is what it is.

      You mentioned already going through a few troubleshooting steps but I am going to put a few below just in case you haven't tried these specific ones.

      First, to ensure performance is fully optimized, please make sure your TV is running the latest firmware. To do so, go to Settings> Support> Software Update. You can easily update from there if necessary.

      Next, I recommend utilizing the self-diagnostic tool, which checks memory, frees unused cached memory, and closes background apps. Go to Settings > Support > Device Care > Start Device Care.

      Finally, let's try running a cold boot on your TV. To do so, hold down the Power button on the Samsung TV remote until the TV turns off and then on again. This should take about 5 seconds.

      If you are using Wi-Fi you may want to try the following:

      1. Use 5Ghz Wi-Fi if possible
      2. Try wired LAN if available
      3. Try repositioning the router so there are no obstacles between your TV and the router

    Happy with the purchase. My previous tv died and this fit the budget. Some apps (Netflix, Disney, etc) you have to turn the volume way up but I have found this to be the case with other TVs as well.

    Samsung always a reliable purchase. Only issue is that I cannot connect a DVD with composite video outputs like I had on an older Samsung flat-screen of same size. Also note that it weighs half as much as older TV.
