The picture is amazing and the navigation is easy to use. I Would have given it 5 stars if it could run the Fios App.

I had to buy a new tv because my 4 year old Samsung died yesterday. So I wanted to replace it with something of equal quality. The salesmen showed me this one and explained to me its qualities. Thought okay just like the other tv's but when I got it home and set it up I turned it on to a football game and wow was the picture great. So I watched a old show i had saved and the picture was to die for. If this tv last me as long as my last one and gives me no problems I will be a very happy human being. Life is great.

    Great picture and sound, but....

This replaced an earlier Samsung model which also had a very nice picture with no issues. It's in another room now. The sound is very decent on this model, and a 4K video on Netflex was truly beautiful. I've only had this set a few days, but I did run into a problem where the remote control couldn't operate anything on the set(except power). I was basically shut out and could only get it to work again by powering the set off . This happen the first day 3 or 4 times. Was already to return it, but it's been ok since. I'll give it a few more days.... but was just wondering if anyone else had a similar problem?

Bought this tv on Black Friday took home and setup with new sound bar. inserted a blu-ray movie and begin watching and noticed white washed lights bleeding from bottom of screen, followed by 1 - one inch blue streak and 3 blue dots on the screen. went thru the entire menu thinking maybe there was a setting to change it, but nope. did some research come to find out lot of people who bought this Tv had similar issues. I returned TV back to BB and got refund. i bought the SONY Bravia XBR55X850C for $1199.99. way better TV. i am truly disappointed with Samsung for the quality of TV they sell. Samsung supposed to be the Best TV. However the only good thing the Samsung had was Picture quality. Samsung is 60hz refresh rate motionrate 120. Sony Tru 120hz Motionrate 120hz. i can tell the difference between the TV's and sony is better as far as Refresh rate goes. once i got to the store, the manager told me 3 other customers returned this TV as well, same issue.

    Amazing Clarity!

Absolutely the best TV I have ever owned. Setup was quick and easy, UI is intuitive and also a breeze to use. Control features make great sense, I have seen controllers where they try to wow you with a bunch of buttons that doesn't make sense, not this one. The "Sports" button is a prime example, guess what you use it for? :) Also, Rebecca, the best buy associate was SUPER! She answered all my questions in a friendly, professional way and truly made my buying experience enjoyable!

Picture quality is excellent. Setup was simple. My only negative is the stand is a bit wider than my Zvox sound bar so a bit of the stand hangs over the edges. Not a big deal though.

    Dissappointed

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

First things first. when i went to target and BB each tv had its own program playing. So its impossible to see the same pic and its basically apples and oranges. The reviews I read on led review sites had some issues with the black level and contrast and they are right, out of the box the picture needed re calibration as the colors were way too strong. First thing i noticed is the contrast was set to the highest level. I had to fiddle with different functions to get a pic that was black but still viewable. One thing i noticed was that at night in a dark room, the black level is more of a dark charcoal gray than black and the edges of the screen were lighter. If i set it any darker i lost detail. The sound is pretty meager when not using my av unit. I am returning this and going for the vizio m60-c3 which is currently sale for the same price i paid for the samsung at $1000.

I researched this product with several stores and online with Samsung directly. the nano crystal technology is the key SUHD 4K is the main difference. and most certainly worth it.

    Only one knock

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Okay, it's been three weeks now.... The only knock I have on this TV is the sound.... Yes, you will have to buy a sound bar and Sub to go with this unit if you are really want to enjoy that Blu Ray Jurassic World DVD. This picture is superb, despite the Best Buy guy trying to sell me an even higher up the chain TV. With the $140 Bar and Sub I put on it. I got my own shakes and stirs from the movie... A damned good investment.

    Excellant Choice

I had a top of the line Hitachi TV for 15 years and when it went out I decided it wasn't worth the cost of repairing it. I spent over a month reading reviews on every brand of TV I could find. What a waste of time. They all have good and bad. I decided to give the Samsung 4K Ultra HD a try, and am I glad I did. I love everything about it. I do use a sound bar sometimes when watching movies, but the build in speakers work for normal watching. The set up was simple, even connecting to the internet. I am pretty much sold on Samsung.

    Bad sound problems

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Although the picture is phenomenal and the setup pretty easy, the sound is a mess. No matter what sound option you pick or what you watch, the set "clicks" like a telegraph or a computer scroll , and the sound drops out like a "skip" . My hard wired Bose speakers don't receive the sound signal at all, although the TV thinks is making a connection. Auxiliary computer speakers or Bose bluetooth work, but the same clicking noise comes from the set and skipping problem also still occurs. This clicking thing has been a Samsung problem on older sets, except those often would fail to turn on while mking that nopise. This one is just an audio problem - probably a bad capacitor from what I've read. It's going back to the store today.

Tv is pretty much everything you expect from middle level Samsung. Very few people will notice different between 7000 and 8500 model unless you are playing video games regularly

i cant see how this tv has good reviews because its the worst tv I have ever had. its got great color and brightness and that's it. this tv has the worst contrast and blacks I have ever seen and its no good for video games if there are any dark parts of the game. its also no good for dark movies dark tv shows plus I had two bad ones I had to return because of very bad light bleed and Im returning this one also. bad bad bad bad tv. if you need to buy one of these tvs get the 50 inch or the 60 inch because they va panels and the 55 has ips panels. ips panels give you bad contrast and blacks. I hope I saved someone from wasting money on this garbage tv.

Picture is stunning, light weight, thin, has lots of apps for the smart TV functions. Netflix and YouTube in 4K on this looks great. Samsung app for smartphones lets you do a lot of basic functions without getting the remote (although keyboard function would be nice Samsung). The SUHD models like this one are their upper end models and have the nano crystal/quantum dot technology for showing much wider color gamut.

    Nice TV - No issues

I like this tv. it has a very good picture- nice and bright. Better than the SONY at this level IMO. I really dont care about stats and sales pitch- i buy what looks good to me and has good quality reviews. That's what really matters to me. I am not a stat snob. The price was right at $1k... i would hold out for that price max. The smart interface is clean and not complicated. The remote is sturdy and has no gimmicks that will fail. The remote code works with DTV remotes. I have not tried 4k yet, but very happy with HD. Overall a great purchase i am happy with. One note- i did have to get a replacement. The first one had 3 grey spots on the screen on power up. The exchange was great and as hassle free as an exchange can be with pick up and redelivery. No issues at all with the new one.

    Defective Panel - 3 returns

    Posted .

I purchased this TV during the sales event before Black Friday for my bedroom, it was a mistake. While it has awesome colors it also has horrible black uniformity that is specially noticeable in dark rooms or at night. I had to return it 2 times before finally giving up. Initially the stand came defective and the TV leaned back, second TV came with blue spots on the screen, not dead pixels, actually blue spots. The third TV came with no defects but horrible black uniformity, which is a documented issue if you go to rtings.com but I never saw it so bad, not just regular lighter corners but big yellowish spots on the lower and upper quarter of the screen. The only way to avoid this is to upgrade for the more expensive JS8500. Nice colors if you can live with corners brighter than the center of the screen.

    Great 4K TV

really good quality, I really enjoy watching movies with this TV. the streaming works great, also the USB when you connect hard drives works perfect and support HD files such as .MKV files, really important for those who want to enjoy HD quality, some other TVs read only mp4 files, so I really recommend this TV! or of course higher samsung version.
