Couldn't be happier with this TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use this TV for work, it replaced my aging 26" 1920x1200 samsung tv/monitor. So, as you can imagine, using a 55" 4k TV for general desktop use is pretty incredible... it took me a while to get used to it because it towers over me. Here is the thing though, at 4k resolution, it is equivalent to 4 1080p screens... So what you get is an extreme amount of room for windows / programs etc all at once on your screen. I want to give a little bit of technical advice for someone considering the same thing: Be sure to synchronize the colors with a professional guide online, it takes maybe 20-30 minutes to walk through each setting, but you get much better color accuracy. As a desktop monitor, I always have the TV set to GAME mode to reduce input latency. The input latency in GAME mode is still noticeable, although it's not horrendous, you won't be able to play 'twitch' action games (Super Hexagon is unplayable). But I've been able to play a couple other games just fine... Borderlands 2 and Diablo 3 are very playable. Windows 8.1 wanted to enable 'display scaling' by default, as it notices a high-resolution display. NOTE: If you want the full 4k use of the desktop, you need to turn display-scaling to 100%. I also use software called Display Fusion, this lets you split into multiple 'virtual' desktops, so basically when I maximize a browser window, it doesn't actually take up the entire screen, but a 1080p size corner. Other than that, I am really blown away by the quality of this TV. I know TVs are constantly getting better each year, but I am glad I broke down and got this one because it's just amazing to sit in front of this thing.

Great TV!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing picture!!! I love the Smart Hub. Speaker is ok, I read a lot of complaints about it. My only real complaint is the stand. It's very wiggly. Would have given it 5 star, but for that. Unfortunately I'm going to have to anchor it to the wall. Otherwise GREAT TV!!

Love this TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this TV and I would highly recommend it to anyone. I previously had a 42" LG LED in my living room that basically died, so I was excited to upgrade. I researched quite a bit and narrowed my choices down to Vizio and Samsung (I've had a 40" Samsung LCD from 2009 that is still going strong and outlasted my LG). I initially purchased the 2016 Vizio P series based on the reviews, features, and price point. You absolutely can't beat it. That said, they changed their 2016 models to come with a tablet remote, which sounds great on paper but for me was more of a nuisance. Instead of navigating the smart menus on your actual big screen, you're forced to swipe through on a 7" tablet or your phone as a paired remote. That was enough headache for me to exchange. However, I would still encourage people to try the Vizio to see if it works for them. The unfortunate part is you won't be able to test this remote in the store because the floor models never have the remotes on display, so you'll have to do some research and try it out at home after your purchase the TV. Since Samsung was higher priced, I did some research and wanted to find a great 2015 model that provided a balanced feature set at a discounted price now that the 2016 models are out. I purchased this TV in May of 2016. At the time, Best Buy had this TV priced around $1100-$1200 (about the same price as the Vizio P series). However, Amazon had it listed for $875 (it is now priced at $1369 on Amazon at the time of this writing and no longer available through Best Buy). Best Buy's service team was excellent and they price matched for me, so I felt really great about the price I paid and the ability to see the TV in person.

picture goes out
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got one 55un7000 about a month ago. Had it for a couple of weeks than the picture would just go out. I exchanged it for another one. Had it about a week again same thing. Spoke to Samsung and they said they have a known motherboard issue. Tons of reviews with that happening on other models also. I took it back and got a Sony. Samsung was a great picture, but the issue should have been taken care of years ago. Best Buy was great, no problems with the returns. It would get 5 stars except for the issues.

Disappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was a huge Samsung fan until I bumped into this...I bought this tv and noticed some green light, looks like the backlight might be bad. On dark colors you can see bright spots on the image. That was the first tv, took it back, exchanged it for the same kind thinking I was unlucky to get a defective one, I try the second one and the same thing happened. But now the green spots were in the other side of the screen. I will be returning this once again and choosing another brand :(

decent tv
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this tv about a week ago. We just started to notice that the sound gets low and then raises on its own. Also now when watching in the dark, the background gets dark, then brightens on and off. Kind of annoying. But great sound overall, with the exception of the volume issue. Great picture in more li ght. Going to return it, and hopefully that fixes the problem. Try the same tv, before changing models or brands. Has anyone else had this experience?

tv is cloudy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.bought this tv. Picked it up at the store. We were given a run around about delivery. Un packed it ...set it up...has white lines on screen. Took it back to best Buy were told we cracked it. We were accused of trying to hang it on the wall. After reading about the TV there is warnings about not flexing the TV when unpacking. I have read stories how even the geek squad has damaged the TV when unpacking. We were not warned by the sales person about the fragility of the TV. I don't think the sales person was aware of how fragile this TV is. Does anybody know how to handle the problems we are experiencing with Best Buy? I do not believe we are at fault. The sales people should be trained to let the customer know how fragile the TV is. I am reading in reviews how this product will be off the shelf soon.

DON'T
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I first set the TV up, I noticed 3 purple dots about the size of my pinky tip along the bottom of the screen. At first I thought that it was part of the light sensor, but it was annoying. I called Samsung customer service about it. Samsung has a strange customer service. where you call them about the problem, and they have a tech call you back in a few days. The tech asked for my email, then sent instructions about sending pictures to determine if it was in warranty or not. "We would appreciate it if you could send us pictures of your Samsung UN55JS7000FXZA television where there DOTS coming out of its screen, so we could further validate if there is a possible internal crack on the screen that will void the warranty." I decided to take the TV back to BestBuy and exchange it. I had no problems at BestBuy. The new TV was crisp for about 5 days, then the picture went dark. The dark backgrounds just disappeared, faces were bright red. Nothing I did helped. Resetting the TV back to factory default helped a little, but not much. I took it Back to BestBuy to return it for a refund this time. I am going with another brand. If you decide to buy this TV, I hope that you have better luck than I had.

Display Issue
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this tv the Saturday after Black Friday. Unfortunately the tv exibited an issue that a few other reviewers have mentioned, I saw significant color bleed (not sure if that's the right term) on dark scenes. The lower left hand portion of the screen had a green cast to it. The defect comprised approximately 1/4 of the screen. Exchanged as Best Buy for another brand.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased a Samsung 55 inch Smart 4K TV a couple of months ago, and so far, we are extremely happy with it! Great picture, unless you watch movies
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Going to keep this short and sweet. This TV has an awesome picture, if you only watch something that is full screen. If you watch anything with a 2.32:1 ratio you are going to get clouding in the corners of the screen. This may not bother some people but just be aware, I have returned because of this as I watch a lot of movies.
