I love the t.v. . I've had it for a year and it's been great. I don't really care for the sound quality though. Thats why I'm giving it 4 stars.

    Stopped working after 2 years

We paid nearly $2,000 for this TV and we use it sparingly, averaging probably 2 hours a day. It worked great for two years, but out of nowhere it wouldn't even turn on. It's $400 to have it fixed and of course it's out of warranty. I'd expect that a product that cost this much would last longer than two years without requiring maintenance. This was our first Samsung TV and it might be our last.

I looked at many models, but this one by far takes the cake. It has life like picture and great refresh rate for those fast action moments. The apps are good and 3D is on point. Sound is just to my liking too. The 55' is perfect because the curved screen gives great angle viewing anywhere. I am very happy and would highly recommend.

    WOW! Performance.

Great picture. Nice features. I like the remote with less buttons but lots of on-screen functionality. Sound is OK without the sound bar. I bought the sound bar and it is better but did not "5.1" WOW me. The curve is nice but not sure I really notice the difference. The 3D performance was better than I expected. I did not buy for 3D but the specs for a 3D set are better than for non-3D. They only give you one pair of glasses...stingy. Setup was easy. No Problems. Best Buy sales personnel were very knowledgeable.

    THE Best Gaming TV

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I had been searching for a great new TV for the living room, something big, high quality, and good to play games on. This display is everything I could have asked for. Rtings.com rated this their best gaming TV of 2015, and while I was skeptical because of all the fancy features (post-processing! UGH!), it definitely lives up to the title. My first test was on Rock Band 3 and it basically proved them right. A 720p picture, upscaled to 4K, running audio through the TV and out to a miniamp. Played the game with 0ms audio calibration and 20ms video, PERFECT RESULTS. This is a huge thing for anybody who plays music games seriously, and is an amazing benchmark for a TV's performance. On top of that, it looks amazing. The colors are great, there's a very low response time which makes it looks smooth, and I didn't see any noticeable jittering. As far as stock audio goes, it's still not up to par with an external system but it definitely sounds better than almost any other basic TV speaker. There are even a couple minor details that give this set bonus points, such as analog input and outputs! This eliminated my need to purchase a DAC since most TVs only have optical out. You can also plug in old consoles using the component and composite inputs. Bottom line: If you're a gamer, this TV is worth every penny.

    Audiophiles Beware

The picture on this set is GREAT and I have not paired it with an higher end HDMI cable yet. But, and to me this is a biggie, you are forced to use two remotes when using an external amplifier or home theater sound equipment. That is right Sony owners, be ready to go back to the 90's if decide to pop on the Samsung Kool Aid. Somewhat of a disappointment at first but then you see the picture and start to think, for this, perhaps I can get used to having two remotes on the coffee table again. Out of the box set up was a snap, not single problem whatsoever. I would rate a strong 5 with the variable sound feature. Call me old school, maybe a firmware update could resolve this minor glitch. I know there have to be others out there with similar experiences. But hey, life is about compromises, figure it out, deal with it the best you can and move on. We have a kitchen full of Samsung appliances we love, the laundry room is Samsung now, Samsung will get a fair shake in the living room. Change is good!

    Curve 55 is Great

Got this TV last week. Open Box. Worked great. Picture is the best I have ever had and I have had many panels since 1999. I have not used the 3D yet. I expect the same picture from the reviews. Be sure to buy the right speakers if you are getting the curve style. I got model 6000 and should have gotten model 6500.

    Great Picture & Features

I really like the seamless blend between going from TV to Hulu Netflix or Web Browser using the Multi Link feature. Sports Mode is a very interesting way to watch the game, it picks up the ambient stadium sound as if you are at a game. The downside it tends to diminish the ability to hear the commentors which can be a plus or minus depending on the sports caster. I signed in to my Youtube account, I am having great performance with cable so far, I have 25mb up and down. the 'extra' feature is really cool, so much fun to watch a sporting event, tweet something and then see it appear on the screen. It makes you feel connected to the other people watching the game. The pointer takes a little getting used to but after about 4 days, it becomes easier. I am using the dobly 5.1 signal, no problems. I did have a problem with the tv not recognizing the volume controls but I rebooted my router, modem and cable box and the problem went away. the active synch 3d is a cool way to watch the latest movies. It worked really well for me. I have this tv is a bright room, the only mode that doenst work well in the daytime is standard, the other are clear. If there is a light on behind you, it will relfect on the screen, in a horizontal band of light. I go back and forth with the motion plus feature depending on the content. I wish the RJ45 wasnt directly to the back of the tv - I wish it went to the connect box like the HDMI's 1, 2 etc... Also use with Chromecast but I dont use it that much because the options I like appear on the smart hub on the bottom display. More to play with next week, I havent loaded any content to the tv, it seems to want to work with wifi #2gb band#pariings only , and would rather just use the faster direct rj45 ... I only downloaded the minion game but havent played it yet. of the 4 gb storage - I have about 2gb available. I like the investment.

Paid almost $2k for this TV. Because of its auto-update feature, it is now in a reboot loop. Out of warranty, Samsung won't help me now.

    Awesome picture--audio issues-ARCHDMI issues

The picture is awesome however- after following instructions regarding connecting HDMI to home theater receiver (Denon)--had no audio. Contacted Geek Squad and paid $200 for them to hook up and they ended up using optical cable for audio as the ARC HDMI doesn't work. They had to call their support to rectify issue. Now, after having the TV for not quite a month, I am hearing clicking sounds from the TV intermittently and the TV has shut off three different times this week. Geek Squad is great-- their help has been awesome. However; if paying $2k for a TV, I expect it to work flawlessly out of the box. I thought I had done my homework on this model before purchasing but I missed the myriad of complaints about the clicking sounds and intermittent powering off and the class action lawsuit regarding bad capacitors. While the picture is great, I would not recommend Samsung 4k TV products until they get the kinks worked out.

Returned a 60 in 4K Vizio TV to Costco for this tv because the processor, refresh rate and quality were much better for a minimum premium. Tv looks great and the curve helps with the sharp angles in my apartment.
