I have been brand loyal to Samsung ever since I purchased one of their computer monitors. The 8 series is a vast improvement from the NU6900 series. The refresh rate makes a difference when you're gaming and watching a modern movie. I found myself a bit distraught when I found out that the QLED 55 inch upgrade was only about 100 dollars more. If you're already going to spend this much on a TV, do yourself a favor and earn for a QLED instead.

Got it during a massive sale. TV worked well out of the box and the onboard apps (Hulu, Youtube, etc) work pretty well, too. Speakers are surprisingly decent and external ones are probably not needed if your room isn't big.

Decent TV with lackluster HDR

Overall solid build, great app selection for all major providers including Xfinity, and great gaming features like VRR and 120hz refresh rate. Downside is the low peak brightness for HDR content which is worse than budget brands like TCL and Vizio. Don't expect to be wow'd with UHD Blu-ray content.

My only concern is that sometimes I turned it off and a few seconds later it turns on by itself and scared me because I’m not expecting that to happens.

They simply dont make anything like that under $1000 anymore and even then you might not find something that performs at this TVs level.
