This Samsung Series 8 55" TV is what Best Buy replaced it with as I had a 5-year warranty on the Series 7. Of course, I knew I would miss the 3d my Series 7 had but I would have been happy if the picture had been as good in the 8 but it turned out to be a big disappointment after a week of trying to get used to it. The picture is either too light or too dark and not very sharp. I never had to get into the contrast or tint in the 3 years I had the Series 7. I could adjust this one for the next 3 years and not get it right. Either spend a little more money and get a better Samsung TV or go with a different brand. Don't blow $800.00 on the series 8. It isn't worth it. The speaker system is better on Series 8 but I have surround sound so that really wasn't relevant.

Don’t buy the entry level TV from Samsung.

After getting it home and all set up it only did half of what I needed. Picture quality seemed poor and colors were blurred. Ended exchanging it for a Sony TV and couldn’t end up being happier. Does every I need and more.

Picture quality should definitely not have been blurry and different than what you saw in the store when making the purchasing decision.
