    The screen is very dim on this TV. Either stick with the 7100 for the lower price or go to the Q60 for a much better picture for not that much more in price.

      I am sorry to hear that you are not happy with the brightness of your RU8000 TV.

      You can try manually adjust the Brightness settings.
      Go to Home> Settings> Picture> Expert Settings> Brightness

      We also recommend you to check if Power Saving Mode has been enabled.
      Go to Settings> General> Eco Solution> Power Saving Mode.

    Buyers beware This TV broke down by itself after 20 months of normal usage. Contacted Geek Squad and got informed that the the cost to fix it pretty much costs like a brand new TV. It is past its 12-month manufacturer warranty and I didn't buy the extended warranty so it's basically a loss for me. I never thought that a Samsung TV will break within 2 years.

    I wish I would have gotten the v70 direct array tv but it's $500 mor. too much to have a brighter tv

    this company lies at every turn, because they are clueless and just want you off the phone. LIARS and CHEATS attempting to swindle those in need of appliances out of their money IMMEDIATELY, only to give them their appliance MONTHS LATER. Terrible company, do not buy!!!

    Very disappointed in the quality of the picture; The screen will just go dark during any program on any station; when attempt to restart, the tv shuts off I very much wish I had my old tv back that I purchased at Best Buy prior to this one; Very disappointed

    according to Samsung the 4 bolts that should come in the packet of parts for the TV. They no longer supply these you have order them elsewhere its not there problem , for the amount of money you spend it should be there problem Samsung its my last purchase

    I have had this vdv for less than a year and was having issues 6 months in. I am not happy with this unit. I have samsung tv's that I have had for 16 years and no issues.

Our 2019 RU8 Series features Ultra Slim Array backlight, HDR10 plus, wide viewing angle, Real Game Enhancer and more, all designed to give you the best in lifelike, crystal-clear viewing enjoyment.

      Please know that the TV will upscale as best as possible any content sent to it. The closer the signal is to 4K, the better it will look coming out.
      It also has several preset picture modes and many custom settings, allowing users to adjust images to their liking.
      The Dynamic Mode is our typical store demo mode and is the brightest among all presets.
      Standard Mode is ideal for home and everyday viewing.
      Movie Mode is the closest setting to calibration the way the director intended as it uses less enhancements and will likely result in the truest picture.

      In addition, the quality of the image on your screen depends on the source and the connection.
      HDMI cables are recommended for optimal HD viewing; and when possible, 4K content will provide the best picture quality.

    Love this TV. We cut the cord the TV does the rest

    I am a tech savy person but this tv was a bit difficult to set up and still learning its features. We cut our cable out of our budget and bought this TV mostly so I would not have to always help my wife figure things out to get her channels to work. First the TV its self comes with Samsung plus. Which is some free channels of TV from Samsung. So you may not need much else as far as live tv goes. How ever if you are like us we bought a YouYube TV subscription which is built in to this smart TV. We also have a Amazon Prime subscription which is also built in to the TV. Once you get it set up which will take some time. Things will get better for you to learn the new way of changing channels. To me this was the hardest part switching from one channel from one subscription to another channel with a different subscription. Picture quality is great when your watching shows or movies in 4k other wise they are no better then watching them on a 720 HD tv. Over all great tv glad i bought it. We just have to learn a new way to work with it.

    Purchased this tv in 2019 & still works great. I've used it for gaming & to watch tv shows. It used to be worth more than double of what it is currently priced at. It was worth the price then, so it is still worth it today. It comes with its own channels, apps, & more.

    TV was everything I expected. It replaced a nine year old Samsung 50 inch. The jury is still out on the remote as it lacks buttons and relies on moving around the screen for what you want. But I'm sure I'll get used to it. If I get nine years out of this one, I'll buy Samsung again no question.
