I bought the first TV and had it not quite 2 weeks and it had two distinct lines of dead pixels. My older son helped tear it down, put it back in the box and return it. Fortunately, the employees treated me with kindness and replaced the TV right away. I appreciate the fact that they stood behind the product they sold me initially and had no problem correcting it to my satisfaction. Thank you. I would rate the product higher, but I will wait a while to make sure it doesn't develop problems like the first one.

I'd give 0 stars if I could I bought this tv 3 days ago now there's no backlight. It was fine while it worked but that doesn't mean diddly if you can't see anything on it. I had a Samsung TV that just went out after 7 years of having it (half the backlight stopped working) so I thought wth let's get another since this one lasted so long. Mind you I love Samsung electronics (not their appliances) so I'm not sure if it's this TIZEN crap they put in it or if it's Samsung just going downhill but I would recommend saving your money and buying an LG, Sony, or even Vizio if you can.

      Hi ChronicallyTyler,

We appreciate your feedback on the CU7000 TV's image quality. I believe what you are describing is a feature called Auto Motion Plus, which eliminates ghosting and blurring that occurs from fast-moving images. These motion smoothing settings look great on live TVs, like sporting events or parades, which are filmed at 30 frames per second. Most movies, however, are filmed at 24 frames per second and are not intended to be viewed with these features. When turned on, this causes the dreaded soap opera effect.

To Change Motion smoothing settings on your TV:
Navigate to Settings > All Settings > Picture > Expert Settings > Auto Motion Plus Settings (Picture Clarity Settings).
      1. The default setting is Auto. This means the feature automatically turns on and off based on the type of program being watched.
      2. Select Auto Motion Plus (Picture Clarity) to change the setting to either Off or Custom.

If you select Custom, three additional options are available:
      • Blur Reduction: Use the directional keys on the remote to adjust the Blur setting.
      • Judder Reduction: Use the directional keys on the remote to adjust the Judder setting.
      • LED Clear Motion: This option allows you to configure the LED backlight to sharpen fast-moving images. Select to turn On or Off.

You may also want to run a picture test. Go to Settings> Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis > Picture Test.

If you need more help, Samsung is here for you. Please call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week. Our LiveChat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website.

Great software, good looking tv, nice remote, go user interface, poor sound quality and picture is disappointingly dim. Go with a Hisense or TLC for something at a similar price point, you will get better picture quality and features. Don’t get me wrong, Samsung makes amazing products this just isn’t one of them.

      Hi JedH,

It's unfortunate to hear you are not satisfied with the CU7000 TV picture and sound quality. I have a few recommendations that may improve your visual and audio experience:

Go to Home > Settings > All Settings > Picture > Picture Mode and select the mode that best fits your usage:

      1) Standard: Default mode suitable for general viewing environments.
      2) Natural: Reduces eye strain for a comfortable viewing experience.
      3) Movie: Most suitable for watching TV or movies in a dark room.
      4) Dynamic: Makes the picture brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments.
      5) Filmmaker Mode: You can watch the source content (e.g., movie) as it is. If the image is defined as Filmmaker Mode, it will automatically switch to Filmmaker Mode while watching.

You can also go to Settings > All Settings> Picture > Expert Settings > to manually fine-tune your image.

For sound adjustments, go to Settings> All Settings> Sound.

If you’d like more help with settings, we are always happy to help! Call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week. Or visit us on the Samsung website and click on the ‘Support’ link for:

      Hi EnriqueR,

I'm sorry that your CU7000 TV will not turn on. Please know we are here to help and have a few troubleshooting tips for you to try.

Check the red standby light, a little red light at the edge of the TV that you aim the remote at. If it is on, it means that your TV is receiving power, and the culprit is likely the remote. Please try to power the TV on through the button below the Samsung logo. If it powers on, I recommend changing the batteries on the remote and possibly replacing the remote.

If the red light below the TV is not on, please try the following:

      1) Unplug the TV from its power source for 30 seconds. Then try to power it on again.
      2) Try a different outlet that you have confirmed works properly
      3) Press the Menu button on your remote. If the Menu appears, then this confirms your TV is powered on. Next, follow these steps:

・Confirm that the TV is set to the same source as the external device.
・Test the HDMI cable. Go to Settings > Support > Self Diagnosis > Signal Information > HDMI Cable Test > Start Test. If the test says, the cable is bad, replace the cable. Service is not required.
・Test different external devices. The final thing to rule out is the external device you're using. Try connecting a different device or using a different source port.

If the TV can display a picture in any other setup, then you've ruled the TV out as the cause of the issue. Keep trying various setups until you identify the device or cable that is not working and troubleshoot or replace it.

Finally, if the red standby light is blinking, please try unplugging the TV for 30 seconds and then try again. Also, confirm that the outlet you are using works with other devices.

If you need more help, Samsung is here for you. Please call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week. Our LiveChat agents are also available by clicking on the ‘Support’ link on our website.

TV SOUND IS BROKEN AFTER JUST MONTHS. I thought it could be the cable box, replaced with a brand new one and same issue. Sound will randomly stop working and cut out so you have to shut off the tv, wait 5ish min, then turn it back on. It will start working and then the same thing will happen shortly after.

      Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with the image quality of your CU7000 TV. The TV will upscale as best as possible any content sent to it. The closer your content is to 4K, the better the image will look on the screen.

Here are some tips to help improve picture clarity:

      1) HDMI cables are recommended for optimal HD viewing.
      2) If you have an analog cable box or satellite box, upgrade to a digital cable box or satellite box.
      3) Change the output resolution of your devices, such as digital broadcast receivers, IPTV, and set-top boxes, to UHD or HD.
      4) You can further adjust your sharpness, brightness, contrast, color, and more by going to Settings > All Settings> Picture > Expert Settings
      5) Choose a Picture Mode by going to Settings > All Settings> Picture > Picture Mode and choose from Dynamic, Standard, Natural, Movie, or Filmmaker Mode.
      6) Ensure you are running the latest Firmware. Go to Settings> Support> Software Update.

Couldn't find screws to mount the TV

Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed.
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I can't comment on the TV because I was unable to mount it. I subsequently returned it and purchased a SONY. I purchased a stand with a VESA standard mount which came with a myriad of different screws, none of them fit the Samsung. Samsung does not include the screws (SONY does) so I contacted Samsung to buy the screws and they were not in stock. I went to Best Buy to see if they carry the appropriate screws and they don't either... Geek Squad said that I could pick up the screws at Home Depot, and while they do carry them they were out of stock Then I drove to Lowes and they also didn't have them. Amazon has vendors who advertise that they have the screws, but after running from place to place to find screws that Samsung should include in the box, I decided I no longer wanted to patronize Samsung and returned the TV.

      Hi AlCibiades,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. Please know your feedback regarding the mounting screws not being included will be shared with our internal teams.

We do not include wall mount screws because not every wall will require the same type of screw. Each customer’s mounting situation can be very different, requiring specific screws to ensure the best, most secure fit. A generic screw type included in the box might be inappropriate for a customer’s wall; the result could be the customer inadvertently mounting his TV insecurely.

      Hi TimothyK,

Thank you for sharing your experience with low volume. There are several volume features you can adjust, which may improve your audio experience.

      1) Auto Volume automatically adjusts the sound to a certain level when changing channels or switching to another external input. Go to Settings > All Settings> Sound > Expert Settings > Auto Volume.

      2) Adaptive Sound automatically adjusts to a specific volume level while watching TV. The TV analyzes your volume usage history by time period to automatically adjust the volume when you use an app or switch to an external input source. Go to Settings> All Settings> Sound> Sound Mode> Adaptive Sound.

      3) Several Sound Modes are likewise available to meet your personal preferences: Home > Settings > All Settings> Sound > Sound Mode

Also, some sources have their own volume control, which might need to be set higher. Please check the volume control of the external device (cable box or satellite box, DVD, Blu-ray, etc.) connected to your TV. Also, check the cable connection between an external device and the TV and then try the cable connection again.
