I spoke with a Samsung rep and he thought it was defective? I'm not so sure since I read online that a lot of people were having the same issues. The 7100 had the same apps but I was able to delete them and they did not pop up any more I prefer the 7100

Starter TV with 60 refresh rate

If you're looking for a basic TV to use for purposes of watching HD movies on Netflix and Amazon, then this TV could work! I also learned that the refresh rate for this TV is only 60, much lower than the 120 which most TVs offer today.
