Well worth the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great TV, a bit on the expensive side buit when comparing the quality of the picture I was pleased to know that the extra money spent was well worth it. The out of the box calibration is just that out of the box. Once you find the best calibration settings online the TV comes to life. Spend the extra money in the long run you'll thank me!

Fabulous Picture
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV has the absolute best picture I have ever seen in a TV, It is almost too real. I really like the minimalist border leaving nothing to distract you from what is on the screen, even the light up logo at the bottom of the screen is not distracting. I don't know how the oicture quality could get any better.

Overall Great TV BUT One BIG Drawback
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While I love many things about this TV there is one thing that I just discovered which makes me regret buying it. The TV accesses the internet, it has a web browser but there are absolutely no "content filters" or parental controls. There is a V-chip which they mention in all of the specs but this can only be used if you are accessing content via an antenna. I have children and do not want them (or their friends) to be able to access adult websites on my TV. Also, although I edited out "adult movie titles" on my cable box so they do not appear in the "guide", they cannot be filtered out on the TV because the guide info for the TV comes directly from the internet, not from the cable box. Since there are no filters or parental controls for the web browser there isn't any way to filter out this kind of thing. We are considering returning the TV since we have only had it about a week & still have the box. What a disappointment.

Great CLEAR picute
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great size for family viewing along with great picture. Web browser runs a bit slow compared to a PC. Social Media has its issues and Samsung is working on that issue. Had to increase internet speed to get better streaming. MLB.com has an issue with lagging.

Amazing!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV lasted a family of 6 for 7+ years after 3 moves and 2 rambunctious toddlers. The 240Hz refresh rate makes everything look amazing, especially out favorite movies. The 3D glasses were really not used as often as we liked but still was worth every penny we spent on it.

WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was the best thing I ever purchased, it was flawless and "What a Picture" Then the Geek Squad got involved! The HDMI ports failed on it, I purchased a extended warranty on it so no problem (yea right). They did not have a tech in the area so they send another tech out and he replaced the main circuit board, end of problem, (yea right). I lost many of those expensive features I paid for including allshare (used to share data with other devices). I have spoke to everyone I could and no one can give me any help in correcting the problem, they (tech) said they installed the board sent to them by Samsung and it was the right one. Now my help menu addresses a 7100 series tv. Guess I should have purchased a 7100 series and saved a lot of bucks... If you buy one hope it does not ever need service once it leaves the factory it will never be the same...

Don't buy until samsung fixes internet problem
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did my home work for at least 6 weeks before deciding to buy this TV. I wish I had read the reviews more closely on Amazon about the internet connection before. I bought this TV today 1/21/14 and back it went today. The TV is beautiful, however during setup I got the message unstable internet connection on both the 2.4 and 5.0ghz bands on my network. During the smart hub set up I get a message that said there are problems please contact Samsung customer service. This didn't set very well with my after spending almost $3000 for this tv so back it went. I was going to return the Sony kdl-55w900A because of what happened to me with a previous XBR-6, but nothing comes close to the picture quality of the W900A in a 55 inch. The smart features of the W900A worked flawlessly with my network. I had the extra space for a 60" so I decided to give it a try, but boy was I disappointed. I downloaded the firmware update that was supposed to address various issues including the internet connectivity issue. I started to think if the firmware failed during the update, then I'd be stuck with a brick because Samsung warranty doesn't cover firmware update failures...so again needless to say I wasn't going to chance it so back it went. I so wanted to keep this TV, but no dice.

Seems like a Windows TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My first review of anything ever. The picture is fantastic. Bluray is unbelievable. The constant rerminders and updates drive me up a wall. Everytime the tv is turned on (seems like anyway) there is a pop up screen telling me something. I just want to watch tv! Reminds me of my old windows computer. It's going back and I'm getting a not so smart tv.

LCD Panel Defective Dead
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a Samsung 8000 series 46 inch TV that I bought years ago. It works fine. I wanted a larger 3D set for the main TV. I bought a Samsung UN60F8000BFXZA 60" 3D set. It worked perfectly for almost two months. The other day I turned the TV on and had sound only no picture. I called Best Buy and a Geek Squad Tech came out and said the LCD panel was defective. Called Samsung to get a replacement TV and they said no, a technician needed to see it. I explained that a tech looked at it today and said the LCD was defective. I asked again for a new TV. No cooperation from Samsung. Now Samsung said that someone will call me in a day or two and set up an appointment for a service call. I paid $2600.00 on a product that has no customer satisfaction from the manufacturer. I think for this price I would not have to be without a TV for such a long time. Best Buy has ordered the LCD panel and the expected install date is now April 7th, 2014. I think it unreasonable that a customer that spends that kind of money for a TV should not have to wait 21 days to for a repair that I was told may not fix the problem. If it is not repaired with the LCD replacement then I may qualify for a new in the box TV. I don't know how long it will take Samsung to approve a replacement TV. If not approved they have to try something else and yes wait for another appointment. Bottom line terrible customer service and satisfaction from Samsung. BEWARE of Samsung customer service. Best Buy is being very helpful, however they are restricted to Samsung warranty policy. Anyone else have a problem with this set?

Fantastic TV

Not of high quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My Samsung 60 inch LCD developed a vertical blue line on the screen, Samsung sent authorized repair service and the quote was $1500 to replace whole screen. I own several TVs in my home and they have lasted much longer. Suggest buying a competitor from Best Buy and their extended warranty.
