A 4K LED that rivals (beats?) Plasma
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was a Plasma devotee for a long time but that's no longer true. I've owned the JS9500 for almost two weeks now and I'm a convert. It's difficult to overstate the impact the TV has on your viewing experience. I agree that watching House of Cards in native 4k is breathtaking. Any/all HD (and std. DVD) is up scaled to 4k, and the quality is amazing and consistent. Smooth transitions, deep blacks, and eye-popping vibrant colors are obvious from all input sources. Watching static content, like a news channel, is like having the talkers in your living room. It actually takes a bit of time to get comfortable with the clarity of the image, it's that striking! The curve is subtle and does help with off axis viewing. The breadth of settings and customizations takes time to learn but the tweaks they offer do help to generate the perfect picture for your taste. Watching a fast moving sport is, well, hard to describe. You must see it to truly understand. Watching the NHL playoffs is now easy, and for the first time my wife can actually follow the puck! Basic setup is fairly simple and getting the apps installed and functional was a no-brainer. Although this is by no means an inexpensive TV, the one connect box makes the purchase easier since I know I'll be able to upgrade rather than replace the set if there are significant tech enhancements in the future. All in all the 9500 is a truly significant step forward in TV viewing and worth every cent of your investment.

Awesome TV... Better Choice over the JS9000
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally purchased the JS9000 65". After having the TV for about a month I began to notice a lot of light blooming. This was due to the edge lit LED. I have seen reviews saying the JS9500 is not as good as the OLED. In my opinion I would have to disagree. The 9500 is worth the extra money over the 9000. Its like night and day with the picture quality. It is very close to the quality of the OLED. The only thing the OLED is better at is the black levels. Im very happy with the purchase. Do not listen to the negative reviews about this TV. $4200 for this tv compared to $6000 for an OLED is a no brainer. Save your money. And look out for the new series of tvs this year from Samsung...

Best TV I've ever seen!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A little pricey, but you get what you pay for! I recently upgraded from a 55" Samsung UHD TV, flat, the 8550 model. It has an 8 bit panel that can display 16 million, or so, colors. This UHD TV, the js9500, has a 10 bit panel that can display over 1 billion. In the future a 12 bit panel will be able to display 68 billion colors. We'll get there, but it might not be necessary! This TV I have mainly hooked into a gaming computer. The NVIDIA 980ti can output 8 bit color with 4:4:4 chroma subsampling, and the JS9500 can handle that if you put it into PC mode. You can switch it to 10bit, but the text will get a little fuzzy, so I haven't seen the benefit yet. The colors and depth to this display have blown my mind. Especially with the "Smart LED" feature activated the screen can get completely black with only parts of the screen that need to be on, turned on. The Witcher 3, Skyrim, and other games look much more alive with color, and the curve helps give the games a depth that is hard to describe. I'm experiencing no visible input lag. This TV has been rated to have I believe around a 26ms input lag, which is pretty much the best you can get with a UHD TV. We won't really see the true benefits of HDR and the 1 billion colors this TV can produce until the 4k Blurays come out later this year, but I cannot wait! As a side note, this TV, and many others, can suffer from something called Black Light Clouding. It's mostly visible when the screen is displaying a dark or black picture. Turning on "Smart LED" feature eliminates this issue, HOWEVER for those that it will bother, like myself, there is a very easy way to fix this. Use your search engine to look up "back light clouding fix". I had quite an eye sore in the bottom right corner of the screen but I got rid of it completely! No need to return it, or call tech support. Simply massage the screen with a microfiber cloth until it goes away. (Please read about it first before attempting!)

Ultimate TV viewing experience!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i love the rich color on this TV. Even regular cable programming is upgraded to a great picture. When I get the TV calibrated the picture will be even better, although I can't imagine that can be possible. The TV is a bit pricy but I did not want to keep spending money on 4 k TVs to get certain features and upgrades as they upgrade to my current TV. The 4k is breathtaking on this TV! Plus the video pack that came along with my TV is also nice for instant 4k viewing content. Also there is more and more 4k content coming out, so I am ready and waiting. So in a nutshell, yes it is a pricy investment but worth every penny for the ultimate viewing experience.

Outstanding!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow, what a picture, I am truly amazed at the clarity of this TV. I looked at the OLED 65" but couldn't justify spending an additional $2500. I highly recommend the JS9500.

Fantastic! Exceeded my expectations in every way!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy set up, all features working, sound is great but even better with the sound bar, one connect box runs a little warm but not a problem. The most important feature is the picture. It is awesome beyond words. Bright, realistic, and colors that are breathtaking! Sony has nothing better. Great value! In my family room it is working perfectly. Even 3D is sensational, and I never cared for 3D until I saw it on this TV. I have only had it for 7 days but have no reason to doubt that buying this was a good decision. I did the set up myself and it was no problem, no calls to tech support etc. Will probably not even need to calibrate it as the picture seems fine. Running 4K content off of last years Samsung video pack and it is absolutely stunning! I chose Best Buy for the convenience of free delivery and Haul Away of my old Mitsubishi 62"DLP. They delivered on time unpacked and plugged in the unit so I knew it was working. They were polite and professional

Amazing TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far I've had this tv for a little over a week and it's been nothing but a pleasure I have to tell you. I used to be a plasma nut but since it's a little to early to adapt to oled I figured I would try a Samsung led for now. It definitely will satisfy me for the time being the blacks are good and pretty much up to par with my plasma prob due the fold screen which helps the black look darker and takes away the light from the corners of the TV. The uniformity on this tv is great as usual with samsungs and the colors are phenomenal I'm very happy with my purchase.

I think this TV is the best one we have ever owned
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nick and Daniel (Athens, Ga. store ) were excellent in answering all our questions and helped us beyond the call of duty. this was a major purchase for us and at my age and health I felt this was the last TV we might ever buy . The Geek Geek Squad (Mike and Michael) were the most professional electronic men we have ever had in our home. All the wiring in our entertainment center was excellent as far as neatness is concerned. We purchased the 65" Curved Screen 4 k. Ultra HD 2160 P 3-D Smart TV priced on the net at $4499.99. We have scheduled Tthe TV calibration for Sat. Nov. 7. Only time will tell, but this is an outstanding TtV. THIS. iS THE FIRST PRODUCT REVIEW I HAVE EVER WRITTEN BUT. I FEELTHEY DESERVE IT !

Excellent
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this TV since mid May. Excellent TV, great 3d, and great 4K. Had calibration done 3 weeks ago and totally pleased. I probably wouldn't consider purchasing this TV if your viewing from an angle. I watch TV straight in front of the TV, Excellent.

Great TV for the enthusiast!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the JS9500 in the year of 2015 and I wanted to right a review coming into the year where Samsung is now offering their newer KS models. This TV as I typed in my summary is for the enthusiast! This isn't the TV for the guy that just wants to watch sports on the weekend. Unless you're the person that has to have the best of the best when casually watching TV that is. I've had this TV professionally calibrated. Even before then I did a soft calibration to bring out more of a natural look, setting it to Dynamic is pretty and all but for me, it just doesn't get the job done. Though in vivid the colors look (better) than others, it's just overly saturated. And so after running this TV for a month or two I'd recommend you looking into having Geek Squad, should you choose to use them to calibrate it. Think of it as a way of taking an already great display to another level. So to put things into perspective, this is my Movie Room TV. I have it paired with the Denon910 receiver and a bundle of Klipsch speakers. Speaking of speakers on this TV, I'd recommend you doing some type of audio attachment to this set. This caliber of a product deserves some external audio to compliment it. I used to play the video game Street Fighter at a professional level. So input lag is something that actually matters to me. A refresh rate of 60HZ is all that matters to me as most of the games that I play, even on PC, I run no higher than 60 frames per second. This TV has the ability to upscale the refresh rate, it's not something that I'd recommend because it can create a displeasing affect that is general across the board with any higher end TV, the Soap Opera Effect, where everything appears to look as if it's happening in a speed faster than life. If you set the TV to Dynamic, it'll automatically turn this on and to the highest level. For cartoons this is pretty but for sitcoms, movies and gaming, it's not! Movie Mode is a nice preset to get you buy if you're not experienced with setting a TV for the best setting or don't want to take the recommendation of having it calibrated. Game Mode is very important, it'll take the TV to about 20-30 MS of input lag. Trust me it's very important, whatever HDMI port you choose to use, set that one to "Game Mode" and so whenever you're going to it, the TV will automatically have it ready. This is vital because when the TV is in Game Mode, you can't modify certain settings that you normally could in let's say Movie Mode, etc. 4K upscaling is great on the TV. It removes some pixilation that you would normally see with a 1080P set. 4K native playback using the K8500 Bluray player is great also. I don't feel there is much of a need to speak about streaming 4K, because it is beautiful but in terms of retaining a high bitrate, I'm a bit of a freak with that, I expect to see my stuff at the highest quality possible. All and all this is a great TV. If you can find this TV then I'd highly recommend it. Those that purchased this TV, they won't feel too bad when the KS9800 comes out, so far the flagship for 2016 is the KS9000, though it boost about 50 nits of a brightness increase over the JS9500, it's not full array, which is the best that you can do with an LED. PS: Picture below shows my TV. I have since moved this TV out of my theater room and have made it a TV for the living area in my home, I have prepped my theater room for the new KS9800 in 78" Review will be posted once it's in.

Great TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a bright TV with excellent colors, contrast and upscaling abilities. Even the HD PIC (720 and 1080i/p) looks wow. Bluray is out of the world. (I am coming from a Samsung Hu8550, so believe me I am familiar with high end TV's. Cons : Only a small remote, Flagship shud include a full function remote. They shud atleast give 2 3D glasses. Who at Sammy decides to give 1 glass with a FlagShip.

Excellent 4K TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had the Samsung JS9500 65" tv for two weeks and it is the best tv I ever purchased. The Best Buy sales team was knowledgeable and went out of their way to find a unit with the display panel I wanted. The delivery and setup went smoothly as scheduled. Even though the picture looked good out of the box, I opted to calibrate the standard settings per the specs available from an on line reviewer. The picture is GREAT! I requested and received a unit with the TS01 panel as I understand it is better than some of the other third party panels Samsung uses. Installation with my AV system was easy, and learning to use the pointer was simple. My unit came with a free Passport Cinema storage unit loaded with two free 4K movies. There are literally no instructions with the Passport and it took me several hours to learn that you first need to register your unit with Fandango (not m-go) before the tv will recognize the movies are on the disk drive. I've always been a Sony fan, and heard that Sony has the best upscale engine. However, this tv couldn't look any better. I purchased the 2015 JS model instead of the 2016 KS model because it has the full array backlight. Evidently, Samsung equips the new KS series with edge backlighting.

Awesome TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Today it's been 1week since arrival and my TV viewing habits have completely changed. This TV makes everything on the screen so alive! Exploring all the features one at a time. Recommend going on line and download the Manual big (170 pages) but you can read and explore this baby one step at a time. My final verdict GUILTY as the best TV from Samsung.

Says great suhd 4k review in 4k uhd movies, but no
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I took a Samsung 65js9500 & a sony 75940c. Tested both on a sony 4k media player fmp-x10 & tested both 4k uhd upscalers. Both tvs were at same factory settings, both hooked up from same cable box & source. The 4k uhd upscaler on samsung was at a 34% rate & sonys was at a 98% upscale rate. Both tvs were at a 1080i hd signal on same hd channels. The colors, level of detail & true natural color on sony was mind blowing. On samsung suhd, the hd signal at 1080i was horrible, the colors were way off, colors bleed, a tree trunk was a faded gray with black lines, not true color. Sony tv with fmp-x10 4k media player hooked up gave great true natural color, gave 3x brightness & 4k X1 chip really boosted it. The fmp-x10 hooked up on samsung suhd tv looked horrible. 4k movies, videos, music, content was blurray, level of details like shown inside best buy were better on samsung 4k clips. Many people dont know the ratio of sony & samsung. Sony has a ratio of 1:1, samsung has 4:1, samsung scales down video source, game source, picture source. Ps4, 4k media server from sony looked very horriable. Sony tvs give you a 1:1 ratio, every movie, ps4 game, tv content you see on a sony tv is how developers & content creators wanted you to see the true color, detail how its meant to be, samsung tvs scale down on color, contrast, detail & any source you plug into it. Yes Samsung is cheaper then sony, but what would you rather have, true detail & color on sony or loss of detail & color on a samsung. Sony created 4k & is professional at creating 4k movies, 4k cinema movies in movie theathers & now has the worlds 1st 4k movie server, 4k camera & 4k video camera. Sony has created more then 12,000+ movies in 4k. Also, sony is working with developers to bring more content. Animal Planet has started filming river monsters in 4k uhd only on sony 4k uhd tvs. If you want a tv for best color, contrast, detail, & upscale, sony is the way to gom

Fantastic Tv
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Did a lot of research before purchasing this tv. It is everything i expected and more. The only complaint i have, which i knew before buying it is that there is a slight amount of blooming in a dark room when you go off axis, but watching straight ahead you dont see anything. Absolutey love this tv.
