Replaced TV twice in a couple months
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had wanted one of these for awhile & was finally in a position to purchase one in Sept of 16, after delivery in Sept of 16 it failed in a matter of 4-5 weeks. The part that failed was not field replaceable so it was replaced. The 2nd lost the smart TV part &, after it it was reset to the original factory settings, was no longer able to be logged into by the online tech help. It also was replaced but i spent the extra money & went with a 75" Sony. That being said, My best friend loved the look of the curved screen & purchased one arounf Nov of 16 and it has had no issues since its setup. And, by the way, the version he revieved was the next updated version of the model.

Silly Samsung, Silly Best Buy.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In Samsung's infinite wisdom they have installed smart connect which actually does makes sense in case HDMI cables become obsolete then they can quickly upgrade the connection and stay current. HOWEVER this proprietary connection does not work for Dish Network. As a Dish Network customer this creates a very large problem. Samsung nor associates at Best Buy were aware of this. Would not be surprised if the smart connect has troubles with other cable feeds either! Pretty silly as I had to return the connection once and then return entire new T.V.. Went with a 65" Sony 4K SUHD which has been awesome and works!!!! What a concept!!!

Best choice after weeks of research.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lg's OLED is beautiful and works amazing however i will say this, the Samung curved TV is easier on the eyes in the dark. This TV is bright and has awesome colors with the SUHD technology. Also i was skeptical about the TV being curved. Because bestbuy offers 45 days to return for elite plus members i decided to take a chance. I will not return it because it works amazing. I bought this to play my Xbox One & for my future PS4 Pro. Even with my current PS4, it has greatly improved the way my games look. If you are on the fence about this TV, DON'T be. Buy it and see for yourself, if your not happy return it. All I can say is that this TV works great. Also, I have to mention that the media player on this TV works smoothly. I plugged in a portable 2 terabyte with 1080p and 4K MKV files and they played great. I played Xvid, Avi, MKV, files with no issues. Just thought you might want to know that little fact.

Would be a great TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Would be a great TV if there wasn't "bleeding" around the edges. Universal remote has issues when you press the guide button. Instead of going to "guide" it goes to "home." Over priced for value.

Optimized for your eyes
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to give this panel a month before writing a review. First off I want to say that by no means am I fan of a specific brand and that my opinion of this set is simply that; just an opinion. As most tech-savvy individuals know, there must be a significant amount o research done before investing in fairly new tech. This TV was no exception. If you're looking for a fairly affordable 4k TV that supports HDR, this is bar none the best around with a few insignificant bumps that keeps it from being 100% perfect. When I first started my research, I was trying to buy a Vizio P-series which compares quite well to the KS8000, but all reviews on this product were well above what I have come to expect from a back-lit TV. So I decided to buy a P-series first to test, then I purchased the KS. Long story short, although on paper the two set appear to be a bit similar, the KS outshine the P-series in nearly everyway, including brightness (no pun intended). Removing the curves aspect of the TV from the comparison (because its a complete gimmick), the panel on the KS features brighter colours, lower input lag, and rich deep blacks that outshine the Vizio in nearly every way during everyday use. What impressed me most about the KS, was Samsung's seeminly future proof SmartHub coupled with the Tinzen OS found on all 2016 models. Setup was a breeze and connected devices offered a surprise by allowing devices such your game console to be detected and controlled via the Samsung universal remote that was packaged in. This makes accessing your devices that much easier and reduces the amount of remotes one needs. Comparing the actually picture quality was the easiest of all comparisons. As in most cases, the Samsung won this, but this time not in every aspect. One of the minor bumps that holds Samsung back is the light used for the panel. Once again Samsung opted to keep the edge lit IPS panel which doesn't keep the deep blacks as deep when compared to the full array P series in a dark room. In many cases I found that in dark scenes like the quagmire act in Mad Max (buy this movie), the dark skies and surrounding wasteland proved to be a tad bit more immersive on the P Series than that of the KS. Other than that, the difference began to stand out. Because the KS has a wider range on the color gamut, muzzle flashes in dark scenes popped more and seemed more like a in tune to what something like that would look like in real life. When is came to brightness both TVs could push out some great scenes without over saturating colors so there wasnt too much to compare here, as with contrast and true LED coloring. Motion blur was noticeably different between the sets, especially during Sunday Football games that with constantly moving onscreen content. Where you could find a bit of ghosting or trailing on the VIzio, none could be found on the KS and when switching both to 'Sports Mode'. What truly tipped the scale on this TV was the unscaling abilities of the KS. 420, 720, and 1080p content looked rich and definitive on the KS as to where the P series struggled with 420 and 720p content. Though most people (including myself) wont find this to be an issue since most TV provides produce a lot of 1080p content, having the optimal option with the KS helps it here. Gaming on the KS model also appeared to be much smoother and very visually stunning compared to the P series. Moving on to HDR, before I commited to the KS, i found that it only supports the standard HDR10 and not DolbyVision HDR. The P series however does, and does so quite well. I have heard that HDR 10 is the go to HDR format, again its better to have the options to view this content rather than not. Here the Vizio would be considered a better buy since Samsung has yet to indicate if Dolby Vision will come later through a firmware update. Overall, the ks8500 was purchased and I havent considered looking back at the Vizio. One thing that i will note is that if you had a choose between to make bewteen the KS8000 or the ks8500, i would get the flat panel instead if the price remains cheaper. The curved screen does help the TV look cool, the gimmick ends just after a few weeks of use.

Not worth it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just bought the 65" curved and was excited about it but then we couldn't even connect our Harmon kardon sound bar to the tv. Samsung is a piece of junk I'm returning it and going back with LG. Thought I'd give Samsung a try since it was a pretty good deal for the curved but im extremely disappointed. Now I see why it was a good deal because you get what you pay for. Won't be purchasing another Samsung tv again.

After only 4 years TV broke
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wouldn’t buy another Samsung if my life depended on it. This tv is now broke after less than 4 years. Many reviews I read, same thing, broke after 6 months. Screen is black. Another Samsung tv I bought in 2008 also broke but this year so I guess I had a good run. I’m going with an LG on my next purchase.

Amazing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Returned a Vizio P65 that had some major panel issues and still colors and saw this TV on display. At first I wasn't sure about the curve but it really does pull you in and everyone that has seen it loves it. It really is a beautiful TV and the bezel is almost nonexistent. The chrome legs and bottom bezel look very high end. Makes the Vizio look like cheap junk in comparison. The colors have to be seen to be believed, another thing the Vizio struggled with. Watch a 4k YouTube video with color space set to Native and your jaw will be on the floor. This TV can get extremely bright, so much so that at night you can set the backlight to 4 and still have an amazing picture. The only HDR I've watched is Marco Polo on Netflix and the shadow detail and bright highlights are so well done that I couldn't even tell you what the episode was about because I was just marveling at the picture. Upsclaing of cable far exceeds what the Vizio was capable of as well, which is important because my cable service is 1080i. Watched some UFC last night and it looked great. All in all I'm extremely happy with this TV, it's up to you if the curve is worth $200. To me it definitely was.

Excellent TV well worth the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This 65 inch curved Tv has exceeded my expectations, It sports a clear picture with eye popping vibrant colors when needed and realistic flesh tone. the performance of this set in dark scenes if simply amazing. I get no back light bleeding or flashlight effect. the mini smart remote is a little confusing at first it looks simple yet is in fact very smart and works my devices better than any universal cable box remote. I have all my devices connected to included one connect box my marantz receiver gets its audio signal from the ARC I normally have all my devices running through the receiver then the video to the tv yet connecting them to this smart tv just work so good I cannot imagine going through the receiver. I was loyal to Sony until I purchased the 900c 65 inch that had severe back light bleeding issues that Sony considers normal. That is like dating a model with a 3 foot booger hanging out her nose. I can tell you back light bleed through is not normal and this samsung is proof of that.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Returned it after just one week and bought the LG Curve 4K with 3-D. Reds and greens wouldn't pan out had pinks for reds. After discussing with best buy it would've cost an extra $250 for them to come out and adjust each quadrant
