    Worth the purchase!

I exchanged for this beauty after purchasing the 55 inch version, having noticed that I have more than enough room on my new tv stand and the $1,999.00 price with the 2 year no interest financing was a no brainer. Love the clarity and viewing angles. 4K content on Netflix (especially those Moving Art documentaries) look amazing. The only negative I have is that I noticed that if I touch the tv on its head with my finger tips, it does tend to wobble slightly unlike the 55 inch i had but I guess that's due to the weight and height of the tv. It's pretty secure on my tv stand other than that issue so don't try to make your tv wobble back and forth :). Great buy!

Great TV if you don't get a defective one

I bought the Samsung un65ks8500fxza on 8/19/2016. I was debating whether to get the curved or the flat model. After speaking with the associate and having done some research, I found the specs were identical. So I decided to see what the hype was and went with the curved model. Three days later a thin red vertical line appeared on the screen. It was visible on all inputs. I took the TV back to Best Buy and told them what happened. They connected it at the store and verified that the red line was there and told me it was defective. I exchanged it for the same model. Four days later while watching a movie on the exchanged TV, I noticed a bright white light on the bottom left corner of the screen. Upon a closer look, I noticed there was a LED that was brighter than all the others. This model is lit from the bottom of the screen. I took the exchanged TV back to Best Buy to have it changed yet again. While waiting for the TV to be checked, I went to the TV area and looked at the display for the same model looking for any bright LEDs, there were none, it was normal. After the associates checked it I was told it was also defective. I thought to myself, "what are the odds of getting two defective TVs." I told the associate that I wanted to exchange the TV, but decided to get the flat model instead, Samsung un65ks8000fxza, I didn't want to risk getting another defective curved TV. I took the flat model home and it looked great until I noticed a line on the top left corner of the screen. It looked like a hair. I thought it was on the outside an wiped it with the included microfiber cloth, but it didn't go away. Looking at it closer, I noticed it was behind the glass and the image looked darker on that spot. The line resembled a nail imprint that would be left on your skin if you press with your nail. So I took the flat model back to Best Buy and the associates looked at me as if they were thinking "you again?" It was kind of embarrassing, but when they connected the TV to verify the problem, they noticed it and told me this TV was also defective. I exchanged it for a fourth TV, a flat one again, but had them check it at the store before I left to make sure it worked and looked fine, I didn't want to make another return. The TV worked fine and still does. I don't know if it was just my luck, but after three returns within a week, some embarrassment, and unpacking and installing a total of four TVs, I am happy with my purchase. As I mentioned earlier, the specs between the curved and flat models are identical. It all comes down to preference on looks. The curved model gives you more glare and is bulkier if you want to mount it. The curved model is supposed to give you more depth, but you won't benefit from it unless you are sitting real close to the TV. I only gave it three stars because of my hassles, but it is a great TV.

I really do love this TV. the Picture quality is excellent and love watching sports. I really haven't tested it to its full potential as I have not purchased a 4K blueray player (waiting for more than just 3 options). I do wish that the TV was 3D. The only issue and its a big one, is the glare during the day if I try to watch from an angle. It is really bad during the day if you have any sort of light hitting it and you're not directly in front of the TV. Though about getting the higher 9000 series but after comparing the specs, there's hardly any differences.

Awesome 4K HDR TV w/ some minor drawbacks

First off, I must say that this HDTV is an amazing value if you got it at the Black Friday price. I've had this TV for over a week now and for the most part I am happy with it. I originally had bought the 60-inch KS8000 but it was a little too small for my basement and also had light-bleed, so I upgraded to this 65-inch KS8500 with the curved screen. While the curved screen doesn't really enhance the viewing experience all that much (to me at least), the curve combined with the excellent design of the TV makes for a nice presence in our basement family room. It took me a week but I've finally found the right picture settings that to my eye give me the best picture quality in both a brightly lit room and an almost dark room. That said, 1080p and 4K content looks amazing and so does HDR, though I'm not completely sold yet on HDR. I guess you can't complain about images/pictures looking more "life-like" with millions of colors added in HDR over the standard 4K, but it comes at the expense of the screen being so brightly lit that my eyes get fatigued from looking at it after a while. Eh, maybe it's just old age ;-) But the 4K and HDR makes this TV future proof so I'm glad to have it. The reason I only gave it 4-stars is because I'm experiencing a little light-bleed from the bottom of the display. This is somewhat common with edge-lit TVs, which this one is. The 60-inch KS8000 I had prior to this had the same light-bleed coming from the bottom of the display, but it was much worse. The light-bleed I'm experiencing from my 65-inch is much less; still noticeable BUT so far tolerable. I only see it when there are green, blue or gray colors at the bottom of the screen; I don't see it or notice it when there are black colors, which is surprising. So regarding that, I'm sure not all 65KS8500 owners will experience this and maybe I'm just OCD about it b/c my wife doesn't really notice it and my kids don't care. My only other knock against this TV is that the Tizen OS (Smart TV) software is a little sluggish at times. There's also delays when trying to open some apps and movies/shows, but that could be due to Internet coverage, so make sure you have a strong wi-fi connection! Overall I would recommend this TV to anyone that wants to have excellent picture quality, good looking TV design and a future proof investment!

Just picked up today. Spent an hour and a half setting up. I went for the curved screen simply because it was $100 less than the same set with the conventional flat screen. Why I dont know. I have an Xbox One S, Roku 4, and an Asus ROG G20CB Desktop for PC gaming hooked up to this fantastic television. All are working spectacularly. The Xbox One S will scale up to 4k and it does look slightly better(instead of activating Game Mode and losing anything on Samsung TV's I simply edit and designate that HDMI Input as a PC. This always seems to work best for me and no lag at all) Have yet to watch any of the limited 4K offerings on Netflix or on the Roku. With my PC however, the Asus Rog, Youtube has some amazing 4K vids that are just breathtaking. Everybit as impressive as what you see in the store itself. I sit about 6 ft away from the TV so I def notice the HUGE upgrade from 1080p, This is the most amazing tv and image I have ever owned. Certainly the most most expensive by far but well worth it to me. So I am set for Xbox Scorpio later this year....this tv again...just amazing.

Very impressed with the picture of this tv. Does a tremendous job upgrading standard HD into an even more brilliant image. What available 4K content is available looks fabulous. The smart tv interface was a pleasant surprise, as was the curved screen. Highly recommend this tv at its current price point.

The 4K technology and upscaling capabilities are unbelievable. Don't know how they fit 4 speakers inside but the sound is fantastic. The only thing I did not like was at the bottom of the TV the brand name Samsung lights up to bright. Simple piece of electrical tape and the problem was solved.

Now look, I don't have the time to sit down and write a pretty lengthy detailed review. However, I have read many reviews prior to purchasing this beast and I have to say.. it's simply amazing and best tv on the market. Rtings gives it a 8.2 for missed usage... now I am a gamer and this tv for hdr 10 is awesome.. you have to play with the settings a bit... but boy this is phenominal.. we watched our 1st ultra hd movie (the watchmen) the level of detail was jaw dropping. Look in summary this is a read down to earth review.. after a couple of months checking this and checking that.. dollar for dollar this is it!

Can't believe I waited so long...

I don't do 5* reviews. I would give this 4.5 but that's not an option here. My issues are to do w/things outside of the TVs control (Cable/Remote proprietary devices) so I'm giving it 5*. I have finally replaced my Samsung 60" 3D / Plasma / Smart TV. I also own a 44" Vizio and 42" Sharp LCD, 44" Panasonic Plasma and 24" Vizio for reference. Prior to buying I researched and viewed the top of the line Sony, LG, Samsung and Vizio 65 - 75" TVs. I was planning on 70", but learned you pay a premium to go beyond 65 for ultimately less quality, so I went 65 at less size, but higher model. I can't believe I've waited 3 painful years... for 3 years I have wanted to do this (SmartTV/Smarthub was horrible) and I finally bit the bullet. (Note as of this writing I've had the TV 48 hours). Note: I was able to use the same mount/screws from my Plasma 60" Samsung to this TV. For an LED TV this is still a very heavy TV. Have two people (I'm large, so I was able to do it myself, not recommended). The good: 4K content (Streaming/DVD) - excellent / wow. Not as good as the OLEDs, bit of smudging still seen in certain scenarios but the picture is flawless most of the time, oh and 1/2 the cost of the OLEDs. Smart TV: I would give it 10*s if I could. I can switch between my XBox One S, PS4, HBO Go, Amazon Prime, and regular TV in seconds w/o lag, login, logout, etc. I had everything integrated in less than 1 hour. Also the smart apps are so good, I no longer even need Chromecast, I threw it out. OneConnect: Love this feature - for installing TV on wall mount, only had to run one wire up to TV (other than power), and this shortens the distance between devices and the box/TV (XBOX One S, PS4, XBox 360 and Comcast Cable). If you need more than 4 connections this could be an issue. If you're going to use the TV for sound this is great (or I went with a Sonos Soundbar). I no longer use my tuner for anything other than my old records / CDs), and reduced the cabling/complexity >60% behind my cabinet. Ease of setup (I would give 10*s). Once I had this mounted, I added it to my wireless network and I had everything running w/in an hour (it would have been quicker, but it needed an update once it was on the network. I was watching 4K content on YouTube, HBO GO (HD), XBox One S, and PS 4. Remote: I have a Logitech Harmony Remote. I have had 3 of them the past 10 years, love them. But.... I love this new remote. Yes... it is small. Yes, the buttons aren't great. Yes, the buttons are hard to find in the dark. Use the voice feature!? I have comcast, and can say CBS, and it brings up the CBS channels for Comcast. I can say go to xbox and it opens my XBox. It controls the movements on the PS4, Xbox, and all SmartTV Apps. Is is the best, perfect, no... I am having issues with the SmartTV/Universal remote controls, with managing the Sonos speakers. So, I'm not throwing that Harmony out... yet... Now to the average: OTA/Cable TV - Sports - I'm still seeing some bad smudging/streaking while watching Basketball. I also see some washout (pixelation) of greys. I'm hoping if I put a good HDMI cable that it will improve, but I doubt it. Video Preset / Menu Systems - I find Dynamic to bright, and Natural to dark. I need to find my happy tuning under advanced, will play with and write follow up review at a later date. Built in TV Sound was good, but I disabled it - I hooked up a Sonos Soundbar and SubWoofer (Will write up separate review on that). Bottom line: If you're looking for an excellent (Seriously) SmartTV, with a great 4K picture, that is <$1700, this is your TV.

Only had this TV for a few days now, but this is by far the most impressive TV I have ever owned. A ton of apps that are easily accessible, as well as an impressive smart remote that allows you to use voice control to navigate. You are able to stream video games and play them as though you have a console itself. Picture is crisp and clean and the curve of the screen allows easy viewing from anywhere in the room. There is also an accessory that allows you to plug in multiple hdmi cords without having to get behind the TV which is definitely helpful if you have the TV mounted. Overall very pleased so far.

I originally bought the 6700 series and was sasified but not amazed. I returned it for this tv and wow... I'm completely happy, disappointed I didn't do it sooner. Everything about this tv is amazing we love it. We thought the 9500 was a little overkill for the price, so we opted for this tv and recommend you do too, you won't be disappointed. To make a long story short I went from a 55" LG OLED 1080P to this one as I wanted 4k and 65" this time and didn't want to pay the OLED price for this size, I believe it was a great compromise. The blacks and ZERO light bleed with the OLED is definitely nice but 65" price is out of range in my opinion for a TV.( Cat Broke my OLED :( ) Anyways the only thing I dont like about this TV is the inability to turn off HDMI Auto sensing, it works most of the time for my video game consoles but it does not work right for my PC. I have to change the Input back to the PC designation every time I turn my PC on because it Auto senses the port wrong almost every time.(This is a known problem with this TV) I guess the other thing is the slight light bleed you get from Edge lit screens. But I knew that before buying. OLED cant be beat in this category.
