Do your research...or buy the warranty!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this as a set with washer during summer holiday sale in 2016- that was the only good thing about it- saving $200 vs regular price, but did not expect it to last only 2 years! started making a loud squeaky noise and then completely stopped. Appliance repair guy diagnosed as bad rollers/bearing and switch- plastic was melted away from bearings when he replaced them...$300+ later! it's working again and the squeaking is much less. Samsung was no help and after reading the reviews online, it seems to be a common problem. I would definitely buy the warranty next time or spend the extra money on a more reputable brand.

Died after a year
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Shortly a year after normal use (maximum 4 loads/ week) this dryer just stopped working. I believe that the belt is broken, but still, whatever the reason it died too soon! Not only that, I have always been disappointed about it not being able to dry bedding appropriately. It would come out as a big ball and the bedding would still be wet in the center. Very disappointed. (The washer also does not wash well unless you wash everything in the heavy duty cycle). Would not recommend.

broken after a year and a half

So we bought the same one again. This time it broken after a year and a half. And Samsung kept BS about sending someone over to fix it. Plus parts would not be cover by manufacture! Best Buy sale man told me that parts would be covered within 2 years. So we called BestBuy! Same problem. They said someone came to our house, but no one answer the door. This was BS. Because someone was home waiting all day and they knew our address because they delivered the washer and dryer before. So Stay away from this dryer!

Mine lasted 2.5 years - warranty is for 2 years

Samsung wouldn't do anything about it because the warranty was for two years. THe repairman said the machine was faulty but the customer service representative said it was probably "user error" - despite the fact that my wife and I have never had an issue with any other dryer we have previously used. Dot buy if you are looking for a quality machine to last a decade.

Cheap heating element, needs replacement often

Once it breaks it is either a pain to fix yourself or you can opt for the high price visit from a repair person. Best option is to buy a better dryer. It dries clothes in a ball a time with the inner ball staying wet. Sheets are the worst. This is a very poorly designed dryer. Don't buy Samsung.

Worst. Dryer. Ever.

Even after selecting very dry, most loads must be dried twice. We end up hanging clothes all over laundry room to air dry, so why buy a dryer in the first place? Best Buy referred us to Samsung, who doesn't like to answer the phone but will eventually put you on hold forever. The steam moisture sensor is a joke. I guess we should be glad it didn't self-combust.

replaced motor after 1 month

The motor started making a squeaking noise less than a month after use. That was replaced and now it does not even get hot. The sevice rep that samsung sent was horribly unprofessional and farted while doing the repair. Worst purchase in my life. Would never buy another samsung appliance!

Horrible Dryer

Even the repair men will tell you not to buy a Samsung dryer. It has been such a pain. Each time they come to fix it there is a week wait until they can get out to you and if they don't have the right part then they need to come back when that is ordered. I would never recommend this to anyone. Do not buy Samsung!

Broke after 15 months

Samsung offered to repair anyway, which normally would be great, but Internet showed too many negative reviews of the contractor they wanted to send to my house. Before you buy, find out the name of the repair contractor. Samsung must be aware of this problem because so many people would not leave reviews elsewhere without letting Samsung know.

Cannot reach dials when stacked
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am 5'6" and cannot reach the dials when stacked on my Samsung washer, and need a step ladder just to read the display. The delivery guy said the new units are an angle. Sure did NOT see that in the pictures when I ordered the unit - but why would I look when the manufacturer advertises the washer and dryer as stackable?! So very disappointed. Best Buy is trying to reach the installer to bring my perfectly good Kenmore back.

Do not buy Samsung dryer!

Under 2 years and it is broken again and Samsung refuses to back their product or repair the dryer that is now inoperable within 2 years. Samsung made repairs in warranty and now refuses to warrant the same exact issue it had months ago. Do your research before buying their washer or dryers.

Works fine until it doesn't, then needs $$ fix.

It has worked as it should until three weeks ago, when it would run without heating, and required us to turn the breaker off to keep it from running when the door was closed. Unable to find any local repair source for Samsung machines, we went to a large repair company based in Portland. The tech arrived three days ago, and after some disassembly and checking, determined the machine needed a new control board. He returned today to replace the board, total cost to us was $487.64. Had I known the total cost on the first day, I would have passed and elected to buy a replacement dryer. I can only hope that this repair gives us another three years of use before failing. Even if it doesn't though, my next major appliance purchase will not have the name "Samsung" on it.

Poorly engineered lint trap

I’ve gone through two traps in three years as it cracks given the way the plastic hinges are integrated into the trap. Other brands tend to use a flat lint trap that’s much more durable.

Dryer Broke after 4 Months Service is Horrible

Dryer started making a load screeching sound. It is horrible. Been working with Samsung for now 1.5 months. Dryer still not fixed. Been the worst experience I have ever had with a vendor. You get what you pay for here folks. Beware

Belt broke at 8 months

I called Samsung to schedule a repair, and it is taking them 2.5 weeks to get it fixed. For something so basic to break so quickly and then for the repairs to take so long, I am rating this 1 star. I am extremely unhappy with this purchase.

It takes 2-3 times longer to dry anything than my 10+ year old dryer. Echo sense is horrible; it always shuts off the dryer early. Too many settings for easy use. I wish I purchased a cheaper dryer with manual knobs.
