To go from being a workaholic to possibly a quarantine-aholic I knew I would need a quality tv upgrade. Being a loyal Samsung customer the brand choice was easy. Only option was size. The 75 was perfect for my living room. Matched with a sound bar and I am good to go!

Well here it is, my brand new Samsung 75” QLED Smart TV. I have had the TV for a week or so now and have determined that this TV is truly a “Smart” TV. (My wife says it is even smarter than me). Now by “smart”, I do not mean it just has streaming capabilities, all I did was unpack the huge TV and plug it in. Set up is simple and easy even without reading any directions. Next thing I know the TV is talking to me and telling me what to do! (Another wife??) Now I am sitting in my chair watching Game of Thrones on this huge, beautiful 75 inches of the best picture I have ever had in my house. The built in sound, very good and fills the room nicely. (But I will be looking out for a new sound bar ASAP). So set up was a breeze (without reading the directions). The set up took me through the built in WIFI settings and I did the obligatory software upgrade down load which took about ten minutes. During this time I studied the very simple and basic remote. Just a few buttons and a round dial. I did not read the directions because there is no paper manual. The manual is on the TV (so it will not get lost). You can load a hard copy from the website. The remote is also a learning remote. I suggest you immediately go to the e-manual to learn the remote features. It does not look like much but it does everything. Look on the Samsung “Hub” for the remote to jump into the e-manual for setup.
The first thing you see when you turn on the TV is the Samsung Hub. Here you will find icons for streaming sites, settings, connections (HDMI) and others. The Hub will also auto detect components hooked up to the HDMI plugs on the back of the TV (Smart!). You can also program the remote to operate those components (not able to try this yet, no components hooked up). Press the home button anytime to remove Hub, press again to bring it back. You can disable the “auto” Hub feature at power on in the settings if you want. The back button will become the most used button on the remote (trust me). A feature they call “Ambient” is a clever way to use the screen when in TV mode or off. You can have a screen saver, an information page, photo album or even take a picture of your wall and have it displayed in the screen as if the TV blends into the wall. When the TV is off, press the ambient button on the remote to activate it (pretty cool). The three color button is inactive I believe in the US TV’s. The picture features extreme brightness and colors and very little glare. You can see the screen from very sharp angles and enjoy the picture even in a very bright room. Very little reflection on the screen during the day (or night time with the lights on). Screen will adjust to room brightness. Since this is still an LED TV you do not need to worry about screen burn in, weather you leave your video games on or even those pesky station call letter ID’s in the lower right corner. Also gone are what they call “Halo’s”. Those contrasting small lines of light around a picture with a very dark background or those H.D bars on the top and bottom of a movie. The built in manual is very clearly put together. The descriptions are well explained and are simple to follow. You will find many options to adjust the screen to your preferences. There are many pre-set settings to choose from or make your own.
Surfing the Internet is truly an experience on a huge screen. The kids had this up and running on a PS4 in less than two minutes. What an amazing picture! I finally tried a 4K movie, this has ruined my viewing experience on my other TV’s!! Now I will need another smart TV for my bedroom. Not quite figured out Bixby yet, but I am beginning to think my wife may be (a little) right about this smart TV.

I got this tv when it first came out, around 5 or so years ago. I was going to wait 6 months and do a review but forgot, obviously.
So, this tv has been amazing. It hardly ever gets any rest time between my wife and two young boys. The picture I still feel is more vibrant than 99% of the new models out there and is crystal clear. I used to purchase newer tv’s often but I honestly have no need for one. This shows zero sign of wearing out and plus I simply do not want one. If the one I had were to go out today I would purchase the same model without hesitation, not to mention it’s now over 1000 dollars cheaper lol.

All I can say is that I LOVE this TV. I've only had it a couple of days and the honeymoon is going fabulous. I did a lot of research over the last 3 weeks. I must have seen 12 to 15 videos and read over 20 reviews about Samsung's QLED TVs, which rate from very good to excellent. I had originally purchase a TCL 75" 4 Series because the price was too low to pass up ($750). Don't get me wrong, the TCL was a fair TV, but not good enough for my standards, which I lowered because of what I was buying. Would I recommend the TCL, yes, but only if you're looking for a TV mainly for gaming or dark room viewing. The 4K content was decent, but no where near spectacular. So I decided to spend a little more for something I knew would be a home run, but not break the bank. I looked at the Q60, but it was lacking certain features... not as stripped down like the TCL, but for Samsung, it was definitely an entry level QLED. I looked at the Q80, which is a phenomenal TV, and I looked at the Q70. The differences between the two were not enough to make me buy the higher priced Q80. Sure you get better side viewing and anti-glare among a few other features, but for me paying the additional $700 was not worth it. I feel I'm getting the best bang for buck in the QLED line-up by having the Q70. Now if price was not an issue and I was not looking to buy an OLED TV, I would have easily opted for the top of the line Q90 and called it a day. The Q70 has a "beautiful picture", especially in HDR and HDR 10+. The colors POP off the screen. The blacks are really, really inky black. Sometimes there's a little crushing of small details on really black scenes but that's if you're really looking for something to complain about. The TV is nice and bright, but not blinding. Overall, it produces a beautiful picture with nice sharp jump off the screen details. If you like gaming, OMG, this is the one to get, honestly. I have an XBOX ONE and talk about BEAUTIFUL. OMG, it makes me smile every time I play a game or watch something using XBOX ONE as the streaming source. There's tons of features too. I was about to buy a Roku, but the TV has enough apps to satisfy and you can always add more. The operating system is very smooth, with no delays or lag. I haven't tried Bixby yet, because I'm using Google Home. I'm telling you, this is a GREAT TV. I mounted it on the wall with no problems and connected a surround bar to it using HDMI ARC. That's the way to go too, get a sound bar.
So in conclusion, I love. love, love this TV. The 75" inch screen is huge, but not over the top huge. Our living room is 17 X 21 with the sofa about 13 feet away and it's perfect. Really consider Samsung's QLED line-up. It's the next best thing to OLED. I strongly and highly recommend it.

Samsung Delivers the Experience

The Q70R 75” TV arrived and was packaged very well. I really liked the film over screen to help eliminate fingerprints while installing it. It is a somewhat heavy TV so be prepared, especially if mounting above shoulder height on a wall. Once installed, I left the set-up portion of the TV to my wife, I am not real savvy on the App stuff. It was a pretty straight forward process and did not take long to get it up and running. When it comes to TVs I am a rather picking customer. We were replacing a 62” Samsung plasma that I truly love the picture on, notice I said love not liked or enjoyed. The Q70’s picture is outstanding and the colors are very vivid and clear. If you are looking at this TV in the store, make sure to view it out of demo mode. Demo mode will have your jaw hitting the floor and you racing to the register to pay for it. No joke, it’s probably the best TV footage I’ve ever seen as far as color and clarity. As stated earlier, the picture quality is outstanding. Having had the plasma before, I like the picture a little darker and the Q70 is designed with a light brighter picture, but allowed for plenty of adjustment in picture brightness. Overall the Q70 is equipped with enough control features that just about anyone could find settings of their preference. I know this TV has plenty of smart features and can do things like connect to internet and adapt to surroundings, but I’m not that guy. I want a TV that turns on when I hit the button, then amazes me day-to-day with its picture quality. The Q70 has been impressive, over the past few weeks, there have been times when I looked at my wife and said “that’s an awesome picture” that is the experience I want and Samsung delivers it.

We love LOVE LOVE this TV. It is HUGE. We can see every detail on actors' faces. Crystal clear intricate detail. The color is deep and rich and vibrant. The picture just pops off the screen. It looks 3D, even though it's not a 3D TV. It is heavy though. And big. Be ready if you are going to mount it on the wall. Love the Bixby feature on it. Love the USB ports on the back too. We are so glad we bought this TV. The Q series are the only Samsungs we will buy from now on. Samsung does need to do something about their remotes though. We have 3 Samsungs (all Q's), and when we push the buttons on one remote, sometimes it happens on all 3 TVs. Rare but frustrating when it happens. Otherwise, the best of the Samsung TVs we have purchased so far.

Local Bossier City store was out of stock. Had them do a search and there was only one new one left in Little Rock. I got them to order it for me I had to wait two weeks for delivery but it was well worth the wait!
I bought this TV sight unseen and based solely on reviews, both expert and users. I went with the Q70R vs 2020 model Q70T. Mainly because the Q70R had back array lighting like the Q80 and Q90 and the Q70T uses edge lighting. Big difference in mho. Plus the Q70R was at clearance pricing.
My wife was concerned about the size of the 75” in our living room but having had it for a couple of days she has done said there is no going back to anything smaller in the future. She love it.
On 1080p programming it does okay. What separates it from my old Visio 48” is the contrast and color. It all just kind of jumps out at you. Blacks look good. Just very good overall viewing.
It’s on my 4K Blu-ray that this set really shines. Watched some planet earth 2 in 4K HDR and my god, it looks like 3D. The colors just pop and I have never seen such detail in video before. Also watched the new Lion King in 4K HDR and it was again awesome.
Setup was easy. Tv pretty much walks you through it. Bought some anti tipping straps and secured it to the stand.
In my living room viewing is good At all the angles that are possible. The one thing is this set lacks the anti glare coating that the Q80 and Q90 have. It has not been an issue here. There is lighting on walls either side of the set and it’s not an issue. Across the room is a dining area. When the chandler is on it is definitely an issue. There are also plantation shutters in there and if open they would be an issue but we always left them closed anyway.
We have our own home theater now and will definitely enjoy this for years to come. So very glad to have gotten the last one!

Upgraded from a top of the line Panasonic Plasma that was about 10 years old. Very easy setup and plenty of options to dial in a great picture. HDR content is amazing. The local dimming is high performing. The letterbox bars are pitch black. Awesome.
Using arc for audio out is seamless.
No DSE issues. Just the slightest of colorbanding seen on rare occasions but not distracting and the untrained eye wouldn’t notice.

This TV is simply amazing. Picture is perfect, and there were no visible defects (unlike every other tv i have bought, with either small deadzones or dead pixels)
The smart features in this TV are actually usable, as compared to cheaper models that are so slow, its hard to use them. You can quickly switch from Netflix to Hulu to your Xbox back to Amazon Prime without any delay.
Two things i would note for potential buyers:
1) Look up a Calibration Guide for this TV, there are so many options it can be confusing. A good Calibration Guide will help you get the most out of this TV.
2) Dont expect to take this home and set it up Solo. This will not fit in anything outside of a truck or commercial van, and is WAY to big to set up yourself.
The only thing i wish this TV came with, was the suggested Tip-Over protector that the manual suggested using. As this TV is so large, it can wobble a bit. The manual suggests you secure it to the wall with a Tip Protector. They dont cost much, and would have been nice to see one included.
Overall, if you are looking at getting into the High End QLED TVs, it is well worth the money to skip the Q60 series, and get a Q70R
(Note: i have heard the new Q70T does not have some of the features the Q70R has (such as Full Array Lighting) so i would suggest finding a Q70R if you can)
