It's just OK
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was really expecting a lot more from this television. The quality of the picture is just OK, nothing special. The biggest issue I have with this television is that it continues to lose internet reception and I have to enter my username & password every time I need to log back on. I was hoping for a television of this magnitude to wow me and all I get is an OK, so-so, whatever.

Defective after less than 3 months - No support
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do not buy this television. After less than 3 months of use, I have a bright white line bisecting the top and bottom of the screen from edge to edge of the television. I have literally spent hours on the phone with Samsung who keeps changing their story, hanging up or sending me technicians who all say the issue is not cost effective to fix and a replacement or refund is needed. Samsung refuses to do this. They've cancelled my trouble ticket without contacting me, scheduled technicians who are out of business or refuse to show up as soon as they hear what the issue is. I have called Samsung Support over a dozen times without resolution and have now even emailed their US CEO, all while staring at a $3600 piece of garbage. Save your money and shop a different brand. Samsung does not stand by their products. Go to their Samsung TV FB page and have a look at all of the comments about their support. Please don't make the mistake that I made.

Excellent picture, great price for the size
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We were coming from a good 100" 1080p projector. We wanted to upgrade to 4K and HDR and didn't want to sacrifice too much in the way of size. This 82" TV was the best we could find that was large and at a reasonable price. We love it. Picture quality is remarkable, works great in bright ambient light unlike the projector, and the aesthetics of it are great. Only thing we don't like is that the cords are hard to route and that it doesn't come in an even bigger size. Stand works great, remote is great but we haven't been using it as we use a Harmony remote instead to control all the A/V equipment. We haven't tried the built in apps so can't speak on their quality - we are using an XBOX, Apple TV and an NVIDIA Shield instead and use those for all of our streaming. I did have to mess around with the settings of the TV for a bit as the motion settings were weird and making people move oddly when it was at 24p movies from 4k discs, and the initial picture settings weren't ideal for watching movies either. Now that it is setup properly we are very, very pleased with the purchase.

Have to return it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If I buy an 82” TV in 2017, I expect it to be stellar. The picture quality is fantastic, the colors are great, it’s a beautiful tv. However, there is really bad ghosting happening no matter which combination of settings you adjust. Meaning there will be an imprint of whatever was on the screen for a second or two after. It is especially bad if it’s black on a white background. We thought we got a lemon, so we set up an exchange. Same thing. Went to the store and told them about it. Lo and behold, it did it on their floor model too. The guy messed with the settings for a solid 20 minutes and couldn’t get it to go away. And before you say “it must be your HDMI cable,” it happened on the TV’s menu screen. Once you see it, you can’t unsee it. Such a shame because it was a great deal, but it is horrendous to watch, especially on sports, which we watch a lot of. I wish I could upload a video.

Great Picture and Brightness
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this TV about 2 weeks ago to upgrade from my 70” Sharp and wow am I happy with the clarity and brightness of this tv. I find myself looking for movies and tv shows to watch simply to admire the quality of the picture. In edition to this tv I also looked at the 85” Sony and the OLED’s. The Sony did appear to handle fast motion a little better but only after the sales person pointed out the differences. But it wasn’t worth the $1700 price difference to me. The OLED’s are of course amazing but the price point is still ridiculous for the size tv I wanted. Overall I couldn’t be the quality to price point for the size I was oooking for and I’m not regretting it!

Dead
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.15 months later one of the major computer boards is dead . Worked fine up until then. Plugged into high end surge protector and line voltage regulator . Obviously inferior parts.

Awesome TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this tv a little over two weeks ago and my jaw is still stuck to the floor in amazement of this t.v. I had Sony 75" inch before 4k all that stuff and hater it(always dropped wifi, apps didn't work) when I set up this tv connected right away and has worked perfectly! The display is very beautiful and crisp and love the Samsung connect box to hide wires easily. All in all very awesome tv and will always stick with Samsung products! Side note: If you want to cast your phone to your tv (smartview is what they call it, which only allows you to screen mirror your phone and can't really use your phone if running apps). Use an app that is called "Megacast Samsung Smart TV" free on the Android store. This app allows you to cast whatever you want to the tv and still be able to use your phone. Pros: flawless picture, fast connections (wifi, running apps, ect.), easy setup, Samsung connect box to hide wires Cons: None

Amazing TV but BB sux
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Probably the best TV I’ve ever owned. However Frys has it much cheaper. So returned it at B.B. and bought it from Frys. BB price match policy sucks.

Best UHD HDR TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I started out with the idea of buying a 55" LG OED C7 and ended up with this 82" Samsung MU8000 model. Previously had a 46" TV so it took me a lot of research and time to come to terms with the right size. Glad I ended up with this 82" model at the end. It is just "eye candy"! I now laugh at the 65" model that most people think is a "BIG" size UHD TV! Even the sales associates do not recommend this gorgeous 82" size because they do not have it themselves and probably cannot accept it size either! I highly recommend this model and this size TV! My motto is: "Go big or go home!" You will not regret it!
