Very Good Price/Performance TV

No Voice Remote, Limited Apps, Bluetooth sound lag

I HAD a lower end hisense tv--and that had voice search--everything has voice search these days--but, not this tv. So, if you want to search on youtube on your tv, you have to type in your search. There's not even a youtube microphone. Thanks, Samsung. Next time, I'll buy the LG. Oh, I bought a samsung remote with voice but it doesn't work with this tv. B) VERY FEW APPS - because this is a Tizen operating system you can't install android apps, at all. Thanks again, Samsung. I mean, you can get all the usual apps like netflix, prime, etc--but, you can't get nor install third party, and or android apps (like VLC player, etc). C) When using bluetooth headphones, and you click on a video, you can't hear the first few seconds unless you back the video up. D) 3 HDMI Ports BUT Only ONE USB Port. So, I had to buy a usb to hdmi adapter. E) The only way I see to restart the tv, is by the remote; no long refreshing restarts to clear the cache. ON THE PLUS SIDE: 1) THE GAMING HUB IS PRETTY COOL--makes me use my own Wii system less. 2) I plugged in an external hard drive that has movies and tv shows on it - and the tv loaded and played everything - so, I didn't need VLC player (BUT still would have liked it because it has a favorites folder - this tv doesn't--which means I have to search for the same things every time. Okay, this is a Grade C. It's a plus that the tv plays the files without a video player app, but, again, I can't make a favorites folder on the tv--and, I don't want to do that on the hard drive--and shouldn't have to--if Samsung let's users install VLC and other third party and android apps. But NOOO, Samsung gotta be different. 3) Look, the tv has decent sound from the tv speakers, and better sound through a sound bar, and the tv picture is as nice as any other tv--no better no worse --so, I guess if the above issues don't bother you--than this is a good tv. But, I expected more features that even the lower end tv manufacturers are including on their tv's. This tv was on sale at $900 -- had I payed full price I would have taken this tv back. But, as it is, if Samsung doesn't give this tv some more features via an update, I won't buy Samsung again. I'll buy the LG 86" TV--which was basically the same price. My mistake. I threw the box away--so, I'll keep the tv and work around the above issues except for the voice search. Live and Learn. Do Your Research. Read The Product Reviews.

We appreciate you sharing your thoughts on the available apps and inputs, as well as feature support on the CU7000 TV – we’ll be sure to pass your feedback to our internal teams.
We also apologize for the confusion regarding Voice Assistants. While your new TV works with standalone Alexa devices, hands-free Voice Assistant support begins with our Q70C Series and higher. Our CU8000 TV Series also offers a voice assistant remote.
If you have an Echo Show, Dot, or another Alexa-enabled device, here are the steps to add and control compatible smart home devices and some experiences on your TVs:
1. Download both the Amazon Alexa and Samsung SmartThings apps, if you don't already have them. Both are available for iOS or Android devices.
2. Make sure your Alexa device and TV are both connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
3. Your TV must be enabled within the SmartThings app. If not, make sure you are signed in with your Samsung account on the TV. Go to Settings > All Settings > General & Privacy, then select System Manager > Samsung Account.
4. Log in to the SmartThings app with the same Samsung account. Tap Devices, and if your TV isn’t already shown, tap + to add it to the app.
5. In the Alexa app, enable the SmartThings skill and sign into your Samsung account. This will automatically connect your Samsung TV to Alexa and let you use voice commands to control your television.
When connecting devices via Bluetooth, there are a few things to keep in mind:
1. Compatibility issues may occur, depending on the Bluetooth device.
2. If multiple Bluetooth devices are simultaneously connected, sound from the Bluetooth devices may drop/cut out.
3. Lip-sync errors and choppy audio may occur.
4. The TV and Bluetooth device may disconnect, depending on the distance between them.
5. The sound quality may be affected by the condition of the Bluetooth connection; we recommend using a wired (HDMI) connection for the best quality.
Lastly, in addition to powering off with the remote, please know you can also use the following to control your TV:
- TV Control button (beneath the Samsung logo on the TV). This will allow you to turn your TV on/off, change the channel, adjust volume levels, and switch sources.
- SmartThings app on a mobile device. The app will act just as your remote would. If you haven't set up SmartThings yet, here's how:
1. Turn on your TV. Then, on your phone, open the SmartThings app.
2. Tap the Device tab, tap the Home icon, and then select the location where you'd like to add the TV. Tap Add (the plus sign), and then tap Add device.
3. Under the "By device type" tab, tap TV, and then tap Samsung.
4. Tap TV again, and then tap Start. Select a location and room, and then tap Next.
5. From here, select your desired TV from the list of available devices.
6. Use the remote to select OK on the TV screen.
7. Once the TV has been added, use the SmartThings app on your phone to rename it, and then tap Done
