Having to use the EVO850 in the past and have had it for about 4 years now without issues. It was a no brainier to chose samsung again. I went with the 860 due to the price and value. It performs better than my 850. read and write speed is exceptional. transferring 2000 raw photos in under 4 mins save alot of time. I use this as my photo bucket and a EvO 960 as my boot drive. both works well together

Loaded Samsung data migration, used Apricorn SSD to usb adapter to plug in new SSD "target" to the PC "source", followed instructions and transferred all of the files to the new SSD. That's how easy it was. It took a while to transfer, but once i plugged in new SSD, it booted up without problems, but the speed and size it was worth the wait.

It's a well reviewed SSD. After reading all the reviews this model is now my pick. I installed it into a gaming/VR rig to replace the mechnical boot drive and application drive. of course it's fast. Boot time to login screen went from minutes to 20 seconds. I needed to do some VR testing and did not want to waste my time waiting so I swapped this in before starting my work on the testing.

I am not a computer person, but the person who took out my old hard drive that crashed, said this was really easy to install. For me, my laptop now runs noticeably faster, although the fan seems to go off more often, but don't have quantifiable data for that. I have no complaints and it seems to do its job, thus 5 stars.

The 860 EVO series of SSDs from Samsung are reliable and as speedy as you'd expect. If you're upgrading from a traditional hard disk drive, then you'll see the biggest improvements in speed and performance. I use this as a scratch drive for my photo/video editing, as well as a storage drive for gaming. Samsung SSDs still have the industry-standard quality that they've been known for.

Perfectly perfect and easy to migrate. I’m using the 1TB as the master & 500GB for the slave. Super fast. No issues. I have purchased other ssd’s and Samsung is the best so far. The 860 EVO seems to perform beyond its class without the additional cost. The (downloadable) software is super easy to use too. Totally recommend!

Samsung SSDs are the only drives I will purchase for my own workstations, laptops, and game consoles. They outperform and outlast any other drive out there. I've tried them all. Samsung is the fastest, longest-lasting, and most reliable SSD made. I currently have 9 of these in various machines. This is just the most recent one purchased for a new computer build.

nice upgrade for my (much) older desktop

I have an older gateway FX530S desktop that I purchased in 2007. The only original components left are the board and processor, everything else has been upgraded - but I was still using HDD's. So I decided to upgrade to an SSD. I had issues with cloning using included software and wound up using free minitool partition wizard free. Do yourself a favor and buy external docking hardware, you can use it to check drives etc. after using to clone your SSD. I already had a 2 1/2 inch USB 3.0 case so I just dropped the SSD into it - connected to desktop using USB. After cloning I just swapped out HDD with SSD and desktop started with no issues. I didnt see a big decrease in boot time - but I am chalking that up to some added hardware and the bus limitations of my older PC. I am still glad I upgraded as I feel more secure having SSD rather than HDD. BUT always do your backups as nothing is fail safe..

Superfast bootup and quiet. Replaced my HHD with this as the boot drive and it is amazing! Boots up in about half the time the HHD did and runs cool and quiet. Bought a 2gb SSD as the secondary drive and would recommend this Samsung drive to anyone who wants a fast reliable SSD.

After running out of space on my current 250GB Samsung SSD on my Macbook Pro, I decided to upgrade to the 1TB model so I wouldn’t have to worry about space constraints. I was able to clone my old SSD and transfer it to the new one and my computer booted up like normal but I actually had available storage space. The drive is super fast and easy to install.

One of my gaming computers came with a 120GB SSD to boot to, but using HDD for storage was a pain, so I upgraded to this monster and wow what a difference. If you are looking to speed up your home PC or laptop, add an SSD over an HDD. It is the biggest and fastest improvement you will achieve. This Samsung SSD scored well on userbenchmark and was very easy to install.

This ssd is a must buy for anyone who still has a spinning hard drive. Upgrading brought new light in my old home laptop. Cold boots up in under a minute use to take maybe 5 min. Computer runs cooler and so silent that you can hardly tell that it’s on. Haven’t tested actual read/ write speeds but can say without a doubt there blazingly fast

I had purchased the 850 EVO for my MacBookPro. After such a pleasant experience, I then purchased the 1TB 860 EVO (following year) for my Akai MPC Live. (A Music Production Center, that could use memory for anything from sounds to projects.) Installation was a breeze, with physical install to drive format all done in less then 10 minutes. Drive Speed is so impressive you’ll forget that you’re actually in the action of tasks. Example, you’ll no longer stare at screens to load desktop, photos, music projects, even web pages just load faster. From shut down to start up- lightening speed! As an Apple Guy- I send a special thank you to the Team @Samsung for such an incredible drive. 860 EVO rocks. (So did the 850) Samsung Rocks!

The hard drive in my Dell computer was beginning to give me problems after 4 years. It was recommended that I replace the drive. This solid-state drive replaces my old hard drive. Now my computer works faster and doesn't get warm at all. If you have to change out your drive, I highly recommend that you replace it with this solid-state drive.

Excellent SSD that is easy to setup. I added it to my Gaming PC to migrate my games to. Even with Windows still running on my original SATA hard drive, the games operate considerable faster on this Samsung drive. It was very easy to setup with Windows 10, just a quick format and done. Highly recommend.

These drives have been used to substitute for the Dell hard drives that came in my new computers. They are much faster than the HDDs. They run quieter than HDDs. They are cheaper than the SSD that Dell has available to purchase with new machines. These drives have just had a price decrease cutting the price by half. At approx $150 these drives are a bargain.
