I had a 4 year old laptop with a equally old hard drive in it. I wanted to spruce it up a bit. I bought this as I know it was about the size of a laptop hard drive. Luckily for me it works for laptops. I installed windows with a external usb and I’ll tell you what; it feels like a mew computer. I was worried that with the old processor and ram type that it still wouldn’t be very fast but I tell you what I was AMAZED at how fast this hard drive made my computer. Night and day difference loads windows and programs in a blink of an eye. I don’t know speed wise if it is actually noticeably different from other ssd’s but I do know that these are known for longevity compared to cheaper ssd’s. I bought this on sale but I am very happy with my purchase.

i have upgraded map with intel SSDs which were expensive also, this SAMSUNG SSD is much more expensive that others, read some good reviews about it so i picked this one, it was installed in Lenovo Desktop, it was very easy to do if one have the USB 3 to SATA cable, must have in my opinion, makes cloning so easy before drive is in the bay. attach drive to cable install SAMSUNG cloning software and clone existing drive, would need the adapter for Desktop HDD install which is not part of drive, i had the intel SSD case still with me so no issues there. it took one hour from start to finish, windows up and running. no issues. so by adding 16GB and this drive $210 total, my desktop has renewed life for few more years, with blazing fast performance, similar config desktop is around $1100.

I'm very pleased with the internal solid state drive. It has plenty of storage with 1TB and is super fast compared to the mechanical hard-drives. No moving parts to become damaged and lose all of your precious data. I'm very happy with this purchase.

I think Samsung is the best brand for ssd and this model is not the exception, very fast and reliable. Is been used to upgrade a HDD I an old gaming computer, it's amazing how fast the computer is now. AAA+++

This is a nice pretty quick SSD. Only took me about 15 minutes to install into my laptop which is down to my laptop mostly, but the ssd itself is very straight forward. Also formatting the drive with my computer was seamless.

I have installed it on my laptop and using it for more than a year! Works like a charm, very quick response time, immediate boot up, quick data processing (read/write) etc., I never have to worry about crashing laptop! Highly recommend!

This drive is like lightning. Start up time for my desktop was fairly quick before with a regular hard drive, but now windows is up and running in less than a minute. The migration software I downloaded from Samsung's web site was simple to use. I just connected a USB to SATA cable for the transfer, installed the drive in the desktop, changed the Boot order in the BIOS, then reassigned the drive letter in the settings/disk management menu for the old 2TB drive. For almost a year I've been thinking about changing the OS drive to an SSD, but as the prices have come down significantly for the 1TB versions, I could wait no longer. One month out and I can say I am very happy with my Samsung 860 SSD drive purchase.

How long does it take you to start up a game? Or open up an application? Or even to boot up your computer? Do you dread having to restart because Windows 10 updated on you? Do you hate having to sit there for, like, ever? Then you need a solid state drive (SSD). Once you install one, it's over. I always resisted restarting my PC because it meant sitting there for over 5 minutes waiting for the drive to get established. Even after logging it, there'd be minutes of scratching and loading. But this SSD ended all of that. Turn on PC, log in, DONE. Seconds and you're DONE loading. Honestly you could get any SSD and you'd get the same improvements, but get one. An SSD is the best upgrade you could possibly get for you PC if it doesn't have one. (Ease of use is Average since your PC acumen may vary)

My PC started blue screening on its 100M SSD (years old) so I used Acronis True Image Tools to move the contents to this new 1TB SSD. All is well with gobs of room to spare. I'll reformat the old one for less than critical file saves in an external enclosure.

I bought this to replace an aging hard drive just in case. It went in effortlessly and is so fast. It boots up super fast and I have had no trouble whatsoever with it. 1 TB is great storage and should be great for years to come.

Does exactly what it needs to while being a decent value. Not much other than that to say. Samsung SSD's are some of the overall most reliable. If you need a decent value in SSD this is a good midrange pick

Purchased this over a year ago (paid $130) thinking I would replace the 500 Gb SSD in my laptop (Lenovo T530 running Windows 7) with this, but wanted to first get Windows 10 installed. It was sitting on shelf until recently when I upgraded Win 7 to Win 10 on my laptop with the 500 Gb SDD. Then I plugged the 1 Tb drive into a USB port and used free software to clone the old drive to this drive. Took over 5 hours, but when it was done, I opened up my laptop, removed the 500 Gb drive, installed the newly cloned drive, closed up the computer and rebooted. Booted right up. That was a few weeks ago and everything has been working like a charm since.

Bought this to clone a hard drive in my dad's laptop. The software from the website was easy to find and use. The process to clone the old drive to this SSD was simple and fast. I easily recommend this product.

So far, this drive is a great improvement on my original drive. Faster and hopefully more robust than the one that failed due to it being solid state rather than disc. I am pleased with it and the price I got it for.

Excellent fast SSD. Needed additional SSD drive to run my flight simulator. Bought my Alienware R9 in August with 500 ssd. Needed 1 gig. Easy install. Works perfect! Don’t forget you need to buy SATA cable.

Picked up this drive as additional storage for gaming. I am running 3x of these Samsung 860s and 2x Samsung 970 NVMe drives with the OS being on the NVMe. Samsung has always been an excellent manufacturer of SSDs and this drive continues that trend.

I've had one of these in a smaller disk size for many years. It is extremely reliable and fast. I use it to copy VM's which are about 30GB each and I'm always amazed at how fast the copy is done. This disk is about 15 times faster than a fast USB drive.

I use 1 of these for my OS and have 2 in a RAID 1 (mirrored) configuration. They're really fast for affordable, end-user SSDs. I've had 6 Samsung SSDs over the years with no problems with any of them so I expect these to work for years, as well.

Bought this for my MacBook Pro (Mid 2012), and I didn’t even had to upgrade the RAM. This thing is FAST!!! My MBP boots in 4 seconds (maybe less) and software opens and closes super quick and ready to use. You can’t go wrong with this SSD!
